I had a recent treatment with De as he prefers to be called and am thoroughly impressed. He is friendly and very generous with is time and explanations. I am retired after 40 years in healthcare and he does everything by the book in good ways. I was told by a prior Dr that I needed another 2 mm of bone right next to an implant previously placed at a small fortune I might add. His CT scan is hospital grade and he determined no graft needed and he placed another post. Also to be on the safe side provided 5 days worth of antibiotics. This is 1 star should be for this dentist's receptionist. Bad customer service. I heard good thing about this dentist, less to no pain, reasonable price, kind and patient with his patients. Phone call today, 1/14/25 @ 11:47 a.m., I asked the receptionist if she can check our insurance to see it is acceptable with this office. She said if Delta Dental PPO, then it's okay, she wouldn't able to check since she has 2 patients here and she's very very busy, she said to text her the patient's full name and information then she'll check. I offered to give her the info on the schedule consultation & appointment. She told me she doesn't have time to write down info, that she'll make mistake with the info over the phone. Again, and again she repeated that she's very busy. I guess 2 patients are enough for the office today. No need for any new patients!!! read more

I was referred by dentist here. I was previously told I would need major work. The estimate with insurance was $800. I was fully prepared to pay that. The dr examined me took X-rays and spent 45 minutes with me coming to the conclusion that I did not need any work! I couldn't believe it! I will never come back to this dental office ever. The receptionist, Jessica, is the wife of the dentist and she got get really rude with me. I had texted her due to some problems that were charged on my HSA card and they wanted proof of the refund which I was trying to get from her. I texted her at night expecting that she would get back to me the next day during business hours but she returned my text unexpectedly that night. It took quite a few days for the problem to get resolved and she got really rude saying that I was haunting her like a ghost and telling me off. She didn't have to return the text during non-business hours. It's not like I expected her to and I was trying to get the problem resolved. Some people like myself have to work during daytime and might not have time to text her then. Regardless, it was extremely rude and no wany to talk like that to people and even more so to a patient. She is very unprofessional. I guess she could do that if she wanted to since her husband is the owner of the business. read more

I was highly recommended Dr. De Nguyen by a friend who had gotten an implant from him. If you want top-notch care from an experienced doctor who just genuinely wants all the best things for you, AND if you want to save a significant portion on out-of-pocket costs, this is the place. Every aspect of the care I received from A to Z (waiting times, pain, quality of work, costs, office cleanliness, etc.) gets a perfect rating from me. I am very glad I went to him to get my bone graft and sinus lift, and I'm going back to get my implant once the bone graft solidifies. With just some gentle local anesthesia, I experienced zero pain during and after the procedure, and I did not need any pain meds after. There was minimal bleeding and I seem to have healed very quickly, which I attribute to Dr. De and his team's excellent skills and attention to patient safety. There are so many more great things to be said about him and his team (Jessica, Matthew, and the other dental assistants), but I won't make this too long. Worst customer service and not honest. I have medi cal and booked an appointment for teeth cleaning on Monday August 21, 2023 at 4:30pm. They first did an x-ray for my teeth, then the dr told me they don't do teeth cleaning there and only do planting. But when I booked an appointment for teeth cleaning, they booked for me. So I got no choice to switch to a new dentist clinic. I went to get a teeth cleaning today at the new dentist. They told me I cannot do it because I already did it on Aug 21. I explained to them what happened. New dentist asked me to call the dentist I went on August 21st. I called right away, and tried to find out why they claimed that I already did teeth cleaning to my insurance, but the receptionist told me she has no time to explain anything to me with very bad attitude. She says if I want to go back to get a teeth cleaning I could make an appointment again with them or she just hang up. I said last time I went, Dr told me they don't do teeth cleaning, now you told me you do it. She said they only make $50 on teeth cleaning, no money to make. So I said is that why last time you didn't want to do it for me even I booked an appointment? She said I don't have time to answer your question. She is very mad and made an appointment for me for Dec 21 at 2pm. Should I still go or not? I really don't mind to pay to the other clinic to get a teeth cleaning. I just feel I need to go back there and tell them whatever they did to a patient is not right since she doesn't want to answer any question on the phone. Any advice? read more

I've been thru at least 7-8 dentists in my entire life, and undoubtedly Dr De Nguyen is the best of all. I only wish I could have seen him sooner. I am a loyal patient of Dr De since 2015 back to when he was in Long Beach, then Westminster, and now Alhambra! During these time I have done 4 implants, a crown, 2 root canals, periodical cleaning in every 6 months- are all under his care! I like it so much so that many people from my extended families And friends have been going to him too!! Why's? There are 3 main reasons: 1- Workmanship: everything done by him is not short of perfection! 2- Professional: very seldom that you would see him not smiling, he always explains to you the problem with the friendly down to earth language, then the sequence of process to solve! All of that without patronizing or talking down to you! A Great communicator who understands his job well! 3- Affordable price: I dare say you won't be able to find cheaper price elsewhere, but that doesn't mean his service is compromised. I am sure this is due to the fact that he loves his job so much so he just wants to solve problems for people! First I must say I am very pleased with the work Dr Chow did on my teeth. I have a low score on original review years ago because a thing I notice and not like. However, that was for routine cleaning and basic visit. As I grow older and my teeth getting in worse shape I got to experience what the dentist here could do when it really matters. When you are in pain or need a filling. They came through for me. No upsells or weird stuff like that just stuck to business of helping me with problem at hand Let me tell you I went to other dentist that had good reviews on yelp. They had nice location and office with art and fish tank but let me tell you the dental work was not as good as here at Dr de Nguyen. I learned it is the big thing if they can they do a good job and that they can do. I still don't recommend this for every type of person but if you need someone to help with the real deal dental problems and I recommend to adults who need the job done right to come here. read more

I recommend Dr. De Nguyen to anyone and everyone! He by far the nicest dentist I have ever been to. In addition to that, he is fast and does great work. Each time I've seen him for fillings or a root canal he made me comfortable and listened to what I needed. If you plan on going here DO NOT! Yesterday I went to get my wisdom teeth removed he tried to convince me not to but after I said I wanted to get rid of the pain he agreed to do it. Dr. De Nyugen asked my age and if my parents were present after clearly seeing my info that Im over age. As he cleaned my mouth his huge gut was pressed against my face the entire time. Then he immediately came in with a needle to numb my gums. Eventually a nurse came in and helped during the procedure. As the doctor tried several tools to pry my tooth out he slipped and stabbed my tongue. I jumped up because I knew he had sliced my tongue badly. I was crying and the nurse and doctor just laughed saying it was okay I was just scared. But I grabbed the mirror and saw a huge gash in my tongue. He is not a good doctor I would not recommend him to my worste enemy! read more

Was referred here by my aunt and all I can say is this was the best experience I've ever had with a dentist. The office isn't much to look at but the service from both the doctor and the nurses was spectacular. I came in to have a molar removed that was causing a lot of pain and he did an immediate x-ray for all my teeth and showed me what was going on. He gave me the option of a much more expensive root canal and crown but didn't push the issue when I said I was on a budget and would prefer the extraction. He just said OK let's remove that tooth. I was very nervous but everyone's casual, pleasant and friendly demeanor really helped my nerves. I got my tooth removed, x ray and consult... For $100 (i have no insruance) and in about 20 minutes! You literally can't beat this place! I know people are finicky about the small stuff but all I need is great service, the job done accurately and a good price. read more
