The poor old thing (the secretary) was really showing her age with years of touching up, damage and oxidation. She was long overdue for a rehaul. I found AAA on Yelp and texted Keith. His response was quick and honest and he was willing to take the job on at a very reasonable cost, and referred me to Stan. Stan was also quick to respond and we arranged a time for pick up and an ETA. Stan contacted us anytime he had a question about something and sent pics of her in progress. After about 2 to 3 weeks, he was ready to bring her back and we were extremely flabbergasted at how gorgeous she had turned out. When you have a piece of furniture so long and it looks so worn, it's hard to imagine what it could look like beautified. I am attaching before and after pics to show what wonderful work they did, which included completely stripping her, which Stan said was VERY labor-intensive. She was covered in old varnish and old polish. I digress. Here are the pics, and a very high recommendation for AAA.

Although I can't comment on the cost since it was covered by insurance, the workmanship was top quality. Keith refinished our 12 foot wood veneer dining room table, two credenzas, a two piece China cabinet, and reupholstered ten dining room chairs. In addition to the excellent work we were appreciative with the speed in which it was completed. He always promptly responded to any of our inquiries. We also appreciated his willingness to hold our furniture while other work was being completed.

If you're looking for antique furniture restoration, custom furniture refinishing, or furniture repair and refinishing, Sparky is the one to call! I originally reached out to two other businesses for quotes, but I should have known better - Sparky was not only the most affordable, but she was also professional, punctual, and a true artist. Her attention to detail is unparalleled, and you can tell she takes immense pride in her work. She serves Vista, San Marcos, Carlsbad, Encinitas, and Rancho Santa Fe, pretty much all of North County San Diego, and I highly recommend her to anyone in need of expert wood and furniture refinishing. Kevin is the real deal, a furniture restorer, a craftsman and an artist. See BEFORE and AFTER…read morepictures. Bottom line: I don't believe anyone else in San Diego could do what he did. DETAILS: We had a disaster with our large, built-in bathroom vanity. Shampoo had spilled and wasn't discovered for months, causing extensive damage to 5 components: a large supporting vertical piece, the supporting bottom piece running the entire width of the vanity, a cabinet door, a drawer cover, and the drawer. I called numerous woodworkers, handymen, specializing in wood, cabinet makers, and cabinet companies. Most suggested cutting out pieces, patch-ups and coverups. Those that had a well-known reputation were concerned about the vanity's structural integrity. One suggested adding another bottom support, which would have completely changed the look and feel. An extremely reputable cabinet company told us they wouldn't even try because they weren't confident that they could remove the supporting vertical piece. THEN WE FOUND KEVIN. He didn't patch it. He didn't coverup damage. He didn't change the design. He restored it. In my opinion, Kevin is a true craftsman and artist, and probably a one-and-only. He told me his grandfather taught him the trade beginning when he was a young boy. His skill, patience, and attention to detail are extraordinary. Look at the photos. They tell the story. You will see what Kevin was up against. and that he gave us back our disaster as good as when we had it custom built almost 20 years ago (and better than prior to the damage).

However it turned out even uglier in my opinion. He said if you looked at it from straight on it would not be noticeable, which is true, but from other angles it is a glaring eyesore. He did not tell me it would be beautiful only from one angle and I am very disappointed. So frankly I would not hire him for a repair. This is a reply to your offer. Thank you for your offer to redo the work, but when I expressed concerns after your initial repair, that would have been the time to discuss alternative approaches. At the time you left me with that was just the way it was because of the way light is refracted. I tried to ignore it but it leaps out at you every time you walk by. It is much worse than it was before and 4 times larger. I hired another company to come out and see what they could do. Although their repair still isn't perfect, it is significantly less noticeable. At this point, I don't feel confident that another attempt would achieve the results I would like.

He wanted to make sure he used the right product before moving forward, which we really appreciated. Phillip was on time, professional, and clearly knows his craft. He finished two days earlier than expected, his pricing was very reasonable, and he left everything clean when he was done. We chose Sherwin-Williams SW 7624 Slate Tile, and the difference is amazing. It feels like we have brand-new cabinets and a completely different kitchen without having to replace anything. He gave me all the details I needed over the phone and when we were finally able to get into the home for him to check things out, everything he had told us still tracked. He gave us quality advice on our cabinets which helped us plan a bit of what we wanted. Originally in our kitchen we wanted to have different lower and upper cabinet colors. However, a few days before the scheduled start, we decided to just match the colors. Phillip was super understanding and agreed that it was the best decision. Phillip, Victor, and Liam arrived promptly as scheduled on the start date and began working their magic. They worked well into the evenings to ensure the job was done in a timely manner. The team actually finished a few days ahead of the original estimate as they knew that we were planning to move in soon and were just that efficient! They really helped bring our vision to life and the quality of the paint on the cabinets is flawless. This was one of the best experiences I've had with a contractor. I highly recommend Dasani's Company Tub Refinishing!…read more My master bathroom tub had developed a crack, and because it has custom quartz edging, replacing it simply wasn't a practical option - it would have been far too expensive. From my first phone call, Sofia in the office was incredibly helpful. She took the time to explain what bathtub refinishing can and cannot accomplish and gave me honest, practical advice that actually reduced the cost of the repair. He even took a "before" photo and circled the bubble (below left) which he told me yesterday was to "protect himself." He never notified us about the problem or sent his photo until after we texted him regarding the bubble (right photo). The condo was recently purchased and not yet moved in. Before Dasani arrived, no bubble was observed in the shower enclosure and our home inspector did not notice it. Even if it was pre-existing, why would any contractor ignore it? We were told to leave the condo during the day due to strong odors. Supposedly, David performed hours of prep including cleaning, sanding, scraping, applying acetone, etc. OVER the bubble as if that would be acceptable to the homeowner. He admitted he did not bother to call us when he saw the bubble. Meanwhile, we paid as soon as the job was completed. We did not ener the condo to see the work until 48 hours later. As a result, we wasted $885 which David refuses to refund. Incredibly, he told me he would charge another $420 to return and fix the problem. He said he did not care about negative reviews in Yelp. I now see that he responds to critical reviews by blaming the customer. All the positive reviews mean nothing when a company does something like this. It will cost me a lot more money and aggravation to get a competent contractor because Dasani literally glossed over a problem.
