Food - "eh" and expensive Pan Dulce - probably some of the worst I've had, Hard part is that all the workers are kind. The only reason they can get away with mediocre food is because there's no other places around to compete. The food on the shelves are super expensive and a very limited variety of anything. The hot foods are not very flavorful and pricey. What keeps me coming back is that I get desperate for pan dulce and have no other options. Then as time goes by, I forget how dry and stale these "fresh " breads are and come back! Bought some early this morning, thinking I could get a better chance of them being fresh. NOPE! My wife and I both took bites of different ones and all it took was one bite to remember how bad they were. As good as it's always been. Had a hankering for their Rellenos, and grabbed a bunch, with the fixin's. I didn't expect (or ask) for it, but the nice gal at the deli counter put it together with oven-ready tins, and that made it incredibly easy to bake a delicious side to our Sunday meal. I was born in San Diego and moved up north to Sacramento so needless to say I've had a lot of Cali street tacos.i love tacos so much I found this place and got the 3 taco Tuesday special chicken for 6.99 and oh my goodness. De Leon's grocery did reach out to ask about the peppers that were the subject of my 12/5 review. The peppers I bought at De Leon's were prepackaged, I bought California and Pasilla chiles. I also bought some packaged spices and chile powders. I discarded the dried chiles from De Leon's. This is my favorite place in all of Spokane. They make the prettiest, softest, most delicious concha I've ever had.. kudos to the new baker! Plus I think the marranitos here are perfect (gingerbread pigs). My husband loves the Mexicana chicharonnes and this is the only place we can find them. Came in to get some lunch, walked to the counter and was ignored. Then a couple of Hispanic guys came in and they were all over it. I waited and waited for my food it was just one taco. They served everyone else ahead of me because I was a white female I guess they thought I would not tip. I asked were my order was and was treated very badly, they just tossed a tortilla with meat on it in a box and when I asked about the salsa they gave me a small container of tomato water, no tomatoes or peppers in it. They don't seem too concerned with discrimination. I will never go back because this was not the first time, this was their 3rd chance. My friend ordered #14 Enchilada Rojas which were so appetizing looking and their taste was amazing, good amount of spiciness but not over the top. I am so happy with how close they are to my job too, and their service is super fast as well! We were there for a total of 30minutes, that's to order, wait, and eat! That's a huge bonus. I don't go to fast food joints, therefore good and fast food is always a bonus in my book! I'll for sure be back to try some other good on their menu. My friend and I also grabbed some ice cream, which is super delicious you could say it looks like an American version of a popsicle but the taste is much different and so much better. Super disappointing so my wife and I are on vacation from LA and she was craving some Mexican food, this place was recommended to us. First off We got there we are ordering food "to-go" our order was not that hard it was some tacos, two breakfast burritos and some chilaquiles we waited there for about 30 minutes until the food was ready I don't mind the waiting if the food is amazing. When we finally got our food we went Home and I swear the burrito that I got looked and tasted just like a 7-Eleven burrito nothing authentic about it Zero flavor, hardly cooked the cheese wasn't even melted. A group of us stopped by over the weekend to do some shopping and grab some lunch. I have stopped by before to get some of their homemade salsa, as it is pretty good. The grocery side has a lot going for it. You will find spices and other food items that you won't find elsewhere in town. The restaurant side is pretty decent. It felt kind of cafeteria style with a lot of items already made in the case. I had the enchiladas and the flavors were good but the food wasn't overly warm. We were disappointed with their chips and salsa. We thought the chips would be homemade since they make tortillas right there in the building, but they were more like they just opened a bag of Tostitos. The tamales were good. Service was friendly. Before I get to my review, I want to clear some of the smoke I have read from other reviews. First, most of the time Chile Relleno is prepped, then frozen, then cooked because the chile stays fresher that way. Second, there are places like this all over the world where silverware is sitting on the counter. You have to be an unrealistic germaphobe to complain about that. Finally, someone mentioned this place does not keep their condiments like salsa chilled. The health department would not have let them open their restaurant side if they didn't keep that stuff chilled, and those things are being chilled now. Now about my experiences here. The food has always been very tasty and very well prepared. I am kind of experienced when it comes to Mexican food (I refuse to say the "A" word), so I don't give this praise mildly. The place is usually clean when I go there, and the employees are all very pleasant. I also feel the prices are really reasonable, and they have several times accommodated special requests in our orders. All in all, solid Mexican food prepared well for a reasonable price. read more

The meat was so dry and mealy, the tables were dirty and the condiment section was not cooled allowing bacteria to grow. We ordered the tamales and the chicken enchiladas to try.
