    Chicken Tikka Masala

Best chicken tikka masala in Williamsburg and friendly staff! If you order over the phone they have a great lunch deal that isn't offered on the apps. Highly recommended

We just had the most delicious, fresh, wholesome meal at De Tandoori Knight, an Indian restaurant in our neighborhood. Now we have our go-to spot for healthy, delicious Indian food!  As soon as we sat down, they brought out Papadum with 3 lovely, fresh chutneys. Samosa chaat was scrumptious! Baigan bharta - Tandoori fire eggplant garlic, tomato and fresh coriander - Amazing! Dal makhni - Black lentils slow cooked fresh cream butter--Also delicious.  Their recipe is different from what I am used to. My previous experience with Dal Makhini is that it is more buttery and smokey.  This dish was bright and slightly sweet.  I am sure there are many different recipes for Dal Makhini. It was very delicious and I am happy with my dinner! The owner is super nice, too.  We will be back soon!

Food is DELICIOUS. The owners are kind. I had the Dal Tadka. Was wonderful. Garlic naan is on point. Rice was perfectly cooked. The food came out fast. Prices are very good too. Glad there's a GOOD Indian place in the neighborhood. Keep up the excellent work gentlemen!

I really wanted to like this place! It's close to home, the place is cute, but so much oil... so disgusting. Bread was ok! Too bad still on the hunt for a really good Indian spot!!!!

This time I had the mushroom and onion hummus, which was a little watery and only came with one small piece of pita for a large bowl. I also got the fries, which are still actually pretty good. The reason for the steep downgrade aside from the dwindling food quality and the so-so drinks, is the service this time was just ATROCIOUS. Bushwick service has gotten kinda cruddy overall these days because so many places have this transplant hipster vibe where they just can't be bothered, but this guy acted annoyed and put out to even be there. It was not great last time, but this time was astonishingly bad. He took my order and as soon as my food came out, he disappeared behind a screen and didn't come back out unless someone came in the door (which was only a couple times). Never checked on me. Never asked if I wanted another drink (my mint julep was awful, so moot point I guess). I had to wait for him to emerge when a to go order came in for me to flag him down for the check. Probably the last time I come back here.

Staff were nice and attentive. The hummus and falafel plate was good. I really liked the rice and veggies - the flavors paired well. Maybe too much hummus for the portion ratio? Decent price for what you're getting, maybe $40 including tax/tip(?) for two of these plates.

We had the salt and pepper tofu- perfect crisp and soft insides with amazing flavor. I asked what sort of salt they used and was told regular salt - no my table salt at home does not have this flavor, fine keep your secrets! Sesame "Beef" - great savory flavor and not your sugary flavor from your local takeout! Good texture and chew as well. Garlic and Olive Oil Kale - this came out piping hot and all steamy but was definitely double-salted. We could not eat much of this but aside from the salt, it was flavored well. Great surprise ending was our bill was really low and I even asked if they charged us correctly (whats wrong with me you may ask)? We were told lunch items were half price on weekdays - woo! 5 star worthy if not for the kale!

The noodles were my favorite dish - hearty and flavorful, with a pleasant texture and plenty of aromatic flavor. The dumplings were pan fried, with a well seasoned filling and slightly crispy texture. The century egg and tofu was nice, with strong flavors from the egg balancing against the mild tofu. And the mochi was a nice and simple sweet end to the meal. My partner also enjoyed the la rou fan. The bill came to $72 after tax and tip, which is pretty reasonable for the huge quantity of food (we definitely ordered too much). For sure worth a try.

On more than one visit, the beef contained large amounts of sinew and cartilage that were not properly rendered. This isn't just a texture preference -- it's connective tissue that would normally break down if the meat were braised long enough. I've attached a photo showing what was served. The first time this happened, I mentioned it to the staff, and they agreed the meat quality was poor and told me management had instructed them to serve it anyway. The next couple of visits were much better, so I assumed the issue had been addressed. However, on my most recent visit, the same problem returned. When I raised it again, the woman at the front told me that this was "edible for all of us in the back" and suggested it was a personal issue rather than a preparation or quality problem. I'm not expecting premium cuts, but when a dish relies on long-braised beef, excessive cartilage and sinew shouldn't be the norm -- especially when staff themselves have acknowledged the issue in the past. Consistency and how feedback is handled really matter, and unfortunately this experience left me hesitant to order the dish again.
