Wow ! Great cheese nan ! I've never had it before. It was light and had a thin layer of cheese slipped in between the layers of bread. I think I may like it better than the garlic nan. Bombay Grill is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the city. The food is gently spiced and not greasy. The last time I checked, they had an excellent health department grade. It was a challenge to find that plus an affordable lunch special. One of my other favorite Indian restaurants has had several issues with the NYC health department. The Yelp app is very helpful - it lists the health department grade after the ratings. Bombay Grill also makes excellent curries. I prefer those over the usual chicken tikka masala - although that's always good. If you order lunch, the lunch box has more variety but less of the main course. So if you want just one main dish, it's better to go without a box lunch option and just choose a standard lunch deal. read more

This place lives up to its excellent reviews. We spent the day in Jersey so when we got to this spot in Bedstuy we were hungry. We tried the chargrilled Red Snapper, lamb shank (not my favorite but super tender), lamb kabobs, chicken tandoori, fish tikka, samosas, mango lassi. Yeah.. we indulged. Packed all left overs for home (something we rarely do, but something tells me this stuff will reheat well tomorrow ) my fam are fans of Bollywood, so interesting enough, one of the servers even sounded like a wise uncle in a Khan Movie . The food here taste very good. I am dissapointed in the portion size of the meat combination platter or whatever it's called. Came in the other day and ordered the Dansak Curry. I asked if it was spicy. He asked me on a scale of 0-10, how spicy would I like it? I said to please make it as spicy as possible, like extra extra hot, in fact I said "hit me with your best shot" please. He looked at me in disbelief. He asked me if I was sure and I said yes please make it as spicy as possible. When I got home and tried it, I was so disappointed at the fact that it tasted good, but it barely tasted like it was spicy at all. Like, did he look at me and think I couldn't handle it? I was honestly offended. I would have ordered something else that would have been default spicier than that. As soon as I got my order he said "let me know if it needed to be spicier". It should've been at it's spiciest, why would you even ask if it needed to be spicier when I wanted it to be as spicy as possible? I love this place. It's my favorite Indian food in Brooklyn. Love their chicken and I love their spinach dishes. Not pictured: the veggie samosa and garlic naan which my friend and I scarfed down. I placed an online order from Bombay Grill and it arrived around the time that they specified even though the place was far away from my home. I ordered the "Entree Special" that includes one appetizer, one entree, basmati rice, and naan bread. I chose samosas and chicken tikka masala and the order was made correctly. The samosas were vegetarian and came in 2 in an aluminum box. They were kind of mushy and soft with lots of potatoes and peas. They go well with the green chutney. The chicken tikka masala came in a plastic container separate from the basmati rice and was drenched in a lot of sauce. The pieces of chicken were of breast meat, chunky, and white. It tasted a bit too sweet and sauce had a thick consistency. The naan bread was plain and puffy, good with the dipping chutneys. I ordered a mango lassi and they gave very little. It was in a small 8 oz coffee cup. The consistency was thick and somewhat sweet and tasted good. It gets you hooked wanting for more but too bad they gave so little. Also they forgot to give me utensils when I checked yes to having utensils. read more

I've been ordering from here on and off for years now. This was my go to lunch spot when I worked around there. Then I found out they deliver all the way to my home and I was set for life. Their lamb doesn't have odd ligaments, chicken is always tender, fresh shrimp is the best and their curries are just everything. I'm a korma gal myself and love the fruit varieties they toss in there. Their tomato base curries are a bit too much (a oily and acid reflux inducing) but if you fish out your protein then you won't have any issues. I will say stay clear from ordering via GH. Grubhub as usual tries it's hardest to kill businesses but luckily this spot is willing/able to take orders over the phone and they deliver far quicker than a grubhub hire would. Overall if you're craving flavorful food and have none around give this place a shot. I will say the portions do not compare at all to majority of other joints but the flavor makes up for that, in my opinion. read more

THE BEST GARLIC NAN!!!! A wonderful atmosphere followed by amazing food what else could you ask for?

I cannot make this up. I find a small tiny obtuse triangle shaped metal in my food. Initially I think oh is it foil? Did I just eat a small speck of foil? I tried to pick it apart from the rice, feel it on my fingers to see if its a thin as the foil the naan was wrapped in. Nope, its malleable like foil but it was slightly thicker. I have no clue but the little metal piece even flaked when I tried to roll it in between my finger tips. Edges were sharp enough to feel the prick. I dont know what the metal piece is but I'm appalled and offended to find it because this was my go-to local delivery spot. I wont be ordering from here anymore. I wanted to love this restaurant but I wasn't happy with my food. I ordered and picked it up. There was ease with ordering online which I appreciate however The food left A LOT to be desired. The food was heavily seasoned but somehow the food wasn't flavorful. It was in desperate need of salt. I had the garlic naan which was dry. The mixed grill and some meats were dry and not flavorful.
