Free starter. Delicious with sauce and curry
Michael H.

I MAY HAVE JUST FOUND MY NEW FAVORITE INDIAN RESTAURANT IN NEW YORK. Food: I had the Lamb Vindaloo. The spice had me sweating, but that's my favorite kind of spice. So packed with flavor and the lamb pieces buried in the curry was so juicy and tender. Delicious to dip some garlic naan into. My gf thoroughly enjoyed her Chicken Korma as well. My mouth is watering thinking about a bite. Can't wait to be back. Service: Amazing service. Incredibly friendly and attentive. Checked up on us frequently to make sure we had everything we need. Ambiance: Cute little restaurant. Will definitely be back. They do delivery as well!

Food (5/5): Ordered the mango lassi to start as drinks. We came as a large party of 12 so we ordered a variety of dishes. My favorites were the chicken tikka masala, shrimp biryani, and tandoori mixed grill. The meat on the mixed grill was tender, shrimp biryani was delicious, and the curry was super flavorful. The portions are a bit small but you'll still be full with a couple dishes. Service (5/5): We came early from the group and the waiters had no issues with seating us despite being a large group in a small restaurant. They took the effort to rearrange the tables to fit us well. The food came out at a reasonably good pace. They checked up on us a few times. Ambiance (4/5): The restaurant is a bit small but cozy with a decent amount of seating. The tables are nicely decorated with flowers and the cutlery and glasses are nice. It has a bit of an upscale vibe.

Amazing food! Came on a Saturday night and there were no one else besides us. Not sure why because the food was delicious! I absolutely loved the garlic naan and the chicken tikka masala. The biryani came with the bread on top which was very cool! You do have to ask for spicy and for the yogurt sauce. Amazing service too! Waiters were attentive and very fast. One of my favorites in the area! Will be coming back!

Got delivery and it was exactly what I wanted. Ordered the paneer tikka Masala and it was great. I've walked by a few times and the restaurant looks cute. Will definitely be eating here again. I've seen their sign says they have SUPER cheap dine-in lunch specials.

Vegetarian aloo gobhi mutter Garlic naan
Uyen N.

The vegetarian aloo gobhi mutter is delicious! The cauliflower is cooked just enough that it gives a little crunch. It goes well with the garlic naan or the rice that comes with the dish. They have happy hour that gives 20% from 3-5pm, also during weekday, you can get 50% off during lunch time.

Onion Bhajia 8/10
Heejin P.

Delicious little spot! Our party of two got the onion bhajia to start and it was wonderfully crunchy and flavorful. The highlight of the evening for me was the lamb biryani - the lamb was incredibly tender and it was a very generous portion. Our other entree was the goat curry, which was also delicious with well balanced flavors. Can't wait to come back and try the other dishes!

Vegetable Pakora

I ordered vegetable pakora via Grubhub. They sent 2 tiny pieces of pakoras!! Is this a joke?

I come here annually when I'm in the city. By far the best Indian food I've ever had. Fresh, authentic, and huge portions.

The entire time it was being prepared, he argued with a man in the kitchen. It was an unpleasant experience, though the restaurant itself was clean and inviting. The meal itself was tasty, but a bit too oily for me. Naan was bland.

As an actual Indian, I find myself increasingly frustrated browsing through reviews of Indian…read morerestaurants, most of which seem to be written by people with little firsthand familiarity with the cuisine. So take this from someone who grew up eating the real thing. There are restaurants that play it safe with Indian cuisine, dialing back the spice, softening the edges for a broader audience, and then there are restaurants that simply miss the mark entirely. Unfortunately, this establishment falls into the latter category. I came with high expectations and left deeply underwhelmed, starting with the Chicken Korma. A korma lives and dies by its sauce, that slow built richness of cream, cashew, and warm spice that should coat every piece of chicken with intention. What arrived was something far more anemic: a sauce so lacking in depth that it read as little more than colored cream. Worse, the chicken itself bore all the hallmarks of having been grilled separately and dropped into the sauce as an afterthought. There was none of that tender, sauce permeated quality you get when protein and masala are cooked together properly. It tasted like two dishes that had only just met on the plate. The Malai Kofta compounded the disappointment. The kofta balls, which should be pillowy, yielding dumplings with a delicate spiced interior, arrived with the texture of compressed gravel. The density suggested these had been frozen and reheated rather than prepared fresh, a suspicion difficult to shake with every labored bite. Again, the sauce offered little salvation, essentially a thinner echo of the same flavorless base. There were, to be fair, two bright spots. The naan arrived properly blistered and soft, and the chai was competently spiced, small mercies that demonstrated the kitchen is capable of getting things right when it wants to. It makes the failures elsewhere all the more puzzling. The service was attentive and the dining room reasonably pleasant. Your server won't let you down. The room won't offend you. But ambiance and adequate bread cannot rescue cooking this careless. Indian cuisine is one of the world's great culinary traditions, complex, layered, and deeply satisfying when executed with even modest care. What was served here felt like a faint photocopy of that tradition. For those of us who know what the real thing tastes like, that gap is simply too large to overlook. The naan and chai suggest potential. The mains suggest a kitchen not yet living up to it.

The cute restaurant was empty, but people picked up their orders or for delivery. The staff gave me a snack that had fennel seeds and was a savory snack while I waited for my order. So sweet. My lunch special was $13 and included chutney, tomato soup, meat samosa, and curry lamb entree with naan and rice. I think it's a pretty good deal. I really enjoyed their rice which is basmati with fennel seeds; this adds so much jazz to the rice. The naan was nice and soft. The lamb curry was ok, and will probably try something else next time.

I got the chicken lunch special at $12.95 pre tax which comes with chicken tikka masala, one vegetable samosa, naan, soup, saffron rice, and 3 difference chutneys for dipping. The chicken tikka masala had a lot of seasoning and a lot of sauce. The chicken was very fresh, chewy, and chunky. I love the chutneys which made everything better. The naan was very soft and warm and easy to chew. The samosa was very starchy in my opinion filled with a lot of potato. Overall the meal was very affordable with a lot of appetizers to go along with the chicken tikka masala meal.

The Jani Burger was amazing, perfectly cooked, with great pakistani flavor, and it was refreshing not to have a smash burger for once. The lamb chops were also cooked to perfection, perfect medium rare, super tender and very flavorful. The Nihari sandwich was also great, however I wish there was a little more unique flavor to it. The masala fries are alright, but I'd say you can skip those. On top of the great food, this service was even better. The staff was so friendly, checking in on us and even offering us a free mango lassi drink. We at this on the sidewalk so it was still fresh when we got it. But for us the food just didn't hit. I recognize it's fusion, but maybe the way things were meant to be balanced didn't mesh. The (impossible burger patty) lahori felt quite bland. Maybe because the burger patty was so thick, but it just kind of was overwhelmed by generic beef patty taste which wasn't what I was expecting. The nihari had some really good flavor, but I found the bread was somehow both quite dry and soggy at the same time. It's hard to describe, but I felt like it was working against the actual nihari flavor. Sadly I do think something like naan or basmati rice would've been better. The fries were pretty unremarkable, too. Just tasted like fries you'd get at your local bodega. I don't expect the wheel to be reinvented when it comes to fusion restaurants, but I just felt nothing actually balanced themselves well (at least for what we ordered). For $50 pre-tip, I'm a bit disappointed. This place has been on my hit list for a while, but I can't see myself wanting to go back. Staff was friendly and the space, albeit small, can fit groups of 2-4 pretty easily. I have a few friends that really like this place, so maybe I'm just the odd one out.
