He…read morementioned this organization called "GAFASTA" and it was the most elite training in the country (possibly one of the most in the world) After doing some intense research into this organization, I decided to go ahead and sign up for the course. After talking with other colleagues at work, I decided to put together a small group of us to get a class going. Fast forward to Friday, December 15th, 2017 at 5:30pm. Myself and 5 other teammates came to meet "Chief" & "Apollos" to take their most basic class called the GAFASTA Basic Pistol Training" Class This class is a 2 part course where we do the classroom training first at the office. Followed by going out to a shooting course. So, let us start with the classroom training. Here we learned a few main rules including NO LOADED WEAPONS IN THE CLASSROOM. From there, we went over some basic safety issues, such as pointing the gun forward, as well as how to hold the gun properly. We learned the '5 step process to shooting', which is from the holster to 'stabbing out'. Stabbing out is the process when you are aiming the gun down at the target. We also learned that sometimes people are not eye dominant to where they thought they were (righty people were left eye dominant, and vice versa). Lastly, we learned how to take a part a gun rather quickly, as well as assemble it with ease! On Sunday, we went out to Chief's private ranch up in Monroe, GA. This is a huge lot with lots of trees and scenery. The steaming lake running through the front to the birds chirping in the background. Walk down another hundred feet or so, and you are at the shooting range where they have water barrels and targets approximately 5m away. Here, we were taught the proper way of sighting, gun control and most of all, SAFETY. They cannot emphasize that enough...safety is key! Keep all guns pointing down the range. Keep all bullets out of the clips, keep the gun on the barrel until called. Overall, this experience was better than any other class that you'll ever experience. Though it is listed as a 'beginner' class on paper, this is far from a beginner class irl! Come check him out, as this was an amazing experience, and we (as a group) cannot wait until next class when we take the intermediate class!

It's a big difference compared to other ranges where all you smell is lead and gunpowder the entire time. The only downside is that they don't provide D‑Lead soap, which is specifically made to remove metal residue from your hands after shooting. That's the only thing I wish they offered. They have plenty of parking. If you have never been there you have to complete a standard form and watch a video on gun safety. The video is about 10-15 minutes long. After that you can pay to use the range. They have a seperate area for rifles and handguns. I was able to get everything I needed there. I spoke to one of the firearms instructor and he provided some good tips for me to shoot better. Everyone was very nice there. In the end I spoke to Melissa. She showed me around and told me about the classes they offered. Once the holidays are over my husband and I plan on coming back to get private instruction hopefully from Melissa. Overall I recommend this place.

Like any craft, shooting takes repetition -- and that means going through a lot of targets. Most ranges sell targets with a 2-3 inch gap between the edge of the paper and the printed target image. That's normal. But this range sells targets that clip within an inch of the scoring line on their holders. Then they turn around and charge you $1 for every hole that goes past that line. It's a setup, and it feels like a scam. No other range I've been to does this. And unlike most ranges that charge you upfront, Johns Creek Indoor Range waits until the end so they can nickel‑and‑dime you for every "over‑the‑line" hole. It's a tactic that takes advantage of new shooters and anyone who doesn't know their system. A range should help people learn -- not create a trap to squeeze extra money out of customers. This practice is misleading, unfair, and something no shooter should have to deal with.

When my firearm arrived, they were quick to reach out to me to set up a time when I could pick it up. And finally, when I did pick up my firearm they were quick and to the point and answered all questions I had about their training offerings. Mushroom watering were replaced with cool surfboard cool and rinse stations- If that wasnt enough you can hop right behind the rinse stations to Parakeet Springs, which we did a walk through to MANY time to mini water falls-buckets of water (like the mushrooms), sprinklers and plenty of places to cool of. One should strongly consider staying away from the range. The lady that works behind the counter is totally worthless from a customer service view and more vicious than satan himself. My sons and I ventured in to shoot,,,they are learners. We received a new target hanging board and a couple of binder clips. In the process of learning to shoot (nailing a few profile posters in the head) we shot a binder clip and left 11 ho;es in the $5 piece of cardboard given to us. Well, we paid the $12 + $8 + $8 for three shooters in a single lance. This crabby women then starts on the billing for all the HIDDEN charges never written or displayed on any flyers or information in the range. What should have been a $28 bill for shooters turned into a $53 bill after we were dinged for 10 who;es at $1 per whole in the cardboard backstop and $2 for shooting a binder clip. All these extra charges for items that new might be $3, Clearly, Dead Center and this godless wench wants to cheat as many customers as possible. So, if you are not a regular, BEWARE. Better yet, go to a nearby range that treats customers much better than Dead Center Gun Range. I have used Dead Center for gun transfers and shooting, but, no more. I am tell my MANY friends to stay away which will put a dent in some of their service. I have also registered a dispute with my credit card company regarding the overbilling. Tomorrow, I am filing suit in Lawrenceville over business practices. If anyone out there has or had similar experiences, I urge you to join the lawsuit seeking damages for unethical business practices. Just leave a note here. read more

I will never come here again. I came with my husband which we were visiting from NY. My friends had suggested that we should come here during happy hour and fire a few rounds. First, when we entered the building we were not greeted and the staff just stared at us giving us a weird vibe. When we walked up to the counter we were ignored, or maybe because there was another customer the man behind the counter was with,(he could at least told us he will be with us in a moment). So we just stood there looking at the hand guns my husband and I were thinking about renting. The man behind the counter (older fella with an attitude like he was the sheriff of dodge county) finally asked what he could do for us (keep in mind with a touch of sarcasm). We told him we wanted to rent the guns and fire a few rounds, then we asked for the price. He just pointed at a price list on the counter, the Nerve!!! Anyway's we went ahead and got the guns and fired away. During the time I was at the range I was very unhappy and displeased. Maybe because we were Asians from NY. Either way I felt that they were racial profiling. I will never come to this place again. read more

G and the people at this shooting facility are among the best . On a recent business trip to Atlanta , we put together a group of 19 shooters , experienced and novice to spend some range time with suppressed firearms . This shooting facility came to our attention through another local company , AAC. I have to say that the range ranks as one of the better facilities I have shot in , and I have shot all over the country . A great variety of firearms for sale and knowlegable counter help made for an exceptional shooting experience . Safety and professional attention is what you will experience when you visit Dead Center . I will certainly visit there again when we visit the Atlanta area again . Professional service. Shot at their range and enjoyed the ventilation as well as the clearly marked distance out on the range floor. Way to think it through. Had the staff help with a modification on my AR-15. They charged a reasonable price and was finished in a few hours the same day. Shot the rifle the next day with no problems and saw quality work on their modification. They offer military and LEO discounts too. Staff is friendly and helpful if you let them know you are looking for something. Other wise they might think your just wanting to gawk at guns you saw off Call Of Duty. read more

A co-worker and I went here today during lunchtime. The charge was $12 per person for the lunchtime 11-2:00 p.m. time frame. The staff were very friendly. It was not crowded at all. There is a separate shop counter and range counter which is nice. The range lanes are well-lit, well-ventilated and have electronic controlled targets with distance readout and adjustment. I appreciated the wash up area at the range exit. I can't say enough positive things about it. I haven't been to a nicer indoor range in the Atlanta area. We will definitely be back. read more

I went here to practice with my Glock 17 and my Daniels Defense M4 with a co-worker who lives near this range. When I arrived I found the staff to be very friendly and had a lot of knowledge about the different types of firearms. The Range is well maintained and well lit. Not to mention a reasonable price. I live in Winder, a 30-40 min drive to this particular range but compared to Bulleye in Lawrenceville, this is far superior in all categories. The owner and Staff have done a great job with this range and Ill be back. read more

Just spent the day with Van for an all day carbine training class at a remote facility. I have been to the range several times and attended several of Van's handgun skill builder classes as well. This is a professional outfit and I learned numerous techniques to improve accuracy, speed and prepare mentally for different scenarios. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to improve confidence and skills with a firearm. Now I just need to practice enough to correct bad habits and put these practices into consistent action. read more

Dead center is the only range I go too! First time I visited I think every staff member in the building helped me. All were very friendly and helpful. The facilities are immaculate and everything is very modern. Prices may be a tiny bit higher than some others but I believe the staff makes it well worth it. I've also noticed I see more families in dead center than any other range I've ever been too. It's just a great environment there. I recommend them to everyone. read more

You're greeted as soon as you walk in, and the range itself is clean, well‑maintained, and has a fresh atmosphere. It's a big difference compared to other ranges where all you smell is lead and gunpowder the entire time. The only downside is that they don't provide D‑Lead soap, which is specifically made to remove metal residue from your hands after shooting. That's the only thing I wish they offered. They have plenty of parking. If you have never been there you have to complete a standard form and watch a video on gun safety. The video is about 10-15 minutes long. After that you can pay to use the range. They have a seperate area for rifles and handguns. I was able to get everything I needed there. I spoke to one of the firearms instructor and he provided some good tips for me to shoot better. Everyone was very nice there. In the end I spoke to Melissa. She showed me around and told me about the classes they offered. Once the holidays are over my husband and I plan on coming back to get private instruction hopefully from Melissa. Overall I recommend this place.

Like any craft, shooting takes repetition -- and that means going through a lot of targets. Most ranges sell targets with a 2-3 inch gap between the edge of the paper and the printed target image. That's normal. But this range sells targets that clip within an inch of the scoring line on their holders. Then they turn around and charge you $1 for every hole that goes past that line. It's a setup, and it feels like a scam. No other range I've been to does this. And unlike most ranges that charge you upfront, Johns Creek Indoor Range waits until the end so they can nickel‑and‑dime you for every "over‑the‑line" hole. It's a tactic that takes advantage of new shooters and anyone who doesn't know their system. A range should help people learn -- not create a trap to squeeze extra money out of customers. This practice is misleading, unfair, and something no shooter should have to deal with.
