But today took the cake- I go in to get some help with mounting a suppressor on my new Daniel Defense AR-10 (small flex). Not only did they help me, but they did it while I was there and provided great insight to the working of my new gun. Just dropped off a gun for some smithing only to find out the retail gun store is now "by appointment only." I supplied the parts and they charged me $150 for a job that couldn't have taken more than 30 minutes. And they added another $50 just to test fire the weapon. i have over the past 15 or so years purchased 2 handguns one a smith & wesson 9 mil from the 10 round clip years and a sweet sig arms 226 also had a mini ruger 14 worked on that had jam issues in i believe 2005 or 6 it has never jamed again to this day also i believe that both the dogs they have there have more firearm knoledge then i do overall they have always been in my humble opinion the go to for firearm purchase repair and accessarys read more

My husband and I stopped there about a week ago around 2-3 pm to ask if they had 380 ammo in stock. Door was locked but there was someone leaving accompanied by I'm guessing either the owner or a salesperson. Before even asking anything we were told we had to make an appointment to go in. Told the person we only had a question but got the same answer need to make an appointment. I'm guessing that maybe was because: 1: we are both hispanics 2. husband speaks broken english although I am bilingual but still have an spanish accent 3. The man thought we either couldn't afford their prices or couldn't pass the criminal background check (we each bough a gun last September at Bass Pro Shop) 4. Not a friendly staff member, one guy was chill the older guy must of had someone piss in his coffee. Severely overcharged for 10mm rounds. If I wasn't shooting today I would of just left. I was all set to give this place a 5 star rating. The folks inside were helpful and friendly. Setting up an appointment was easy. Got my weapon and when it came time to buy ammo called my husband and he told me they were attempting to charge me a price that was super exorbitant- like almost 3 times what i would pay elsewhere! I wish I would have listened to him...instead I listened to the "experts" who said there was an ammo shortage and I wouldn't be able to find any anywhere....less than a week later- I have purchased a box for ...yep.....you guessed it less than half of what I paid at David's Being a female - and .....they got me.....which makes me mad....but I should have done my homework. Clerk Refused to sale 9mm rounds because of high demand unless you purchase a firearm. Honestly the dumbest thing ever. As a business you should pay more attention to making sure you have enough stock even if that means over stocking. Highly disappointed. read more

I was looking for a holster and ended up coming here by accident just driving by on Buford highway and it turned out to be a pretty good store. They are pretty small and parking wasn't the best but they have a decent selection of guns. If your looking for a safe there is a safe shop next to it as well i think. What really made this store better then others to me was the friendly staff. I think the guy who helped me was Harley. He really took his time with me and everyone around me. He made sure to tell me everything and also helped me the next day when I came back for a fitting. So overall experience was a pretty good one. Will come back here for my next purchase. read more

This is my favorite gun store! Their prices are standard (could be cheaper) and they carry a good amount of pistol and shotgun. The best thing about them is their staff members are experienced and helpful. They might not say it, but they stand by their guns. I had a problem with the glock I bought from them. I brought it back and they went the distance to satisfy me. I told him I just needed a couple of things and the employee laughed and said "things " before I could say anything else. After searching and reviewing tons of local and online safe sellers in N. GA, I finally visited David's Gun Room on Good Friday. I was skeptical despite so many good reviews and forum recommendations, as they don't really have much of a website...at all. The main store help told me someone would be with me in a few minutes, which was true. We walked 5 feet to the adjoining shop, where there was a nice selection of Liberty safes. I was provided good knowledgeable help, without any upselling or pressure. It was clear that they really move a number of safes through the shop! Having my iPad with me, I was able to compare prices on the spot. I did find one or two deals slightly better for the safe, but the delivery and handling charges for those sites were the "gotcha." The salesman was patient working with me to estimate delivery and install charges (photos of my driveway, yard, entryway helped) and got me set up. Delivery would depend on weather and workload. I told them which days didn't work. Today, Monday, my salesman called to see if delivery was possible with my schedule, which it was. Mark, the delivery guy, called on time with a perfect, professional and precise install. Kudos, Mark! My salesman, BTW, was David, the owner. So very nice to see an owner operated business with good prices, great service and honest advice! read more

I loved the staff, they were so helpful and friendly. Getting an appointment with them was very easy as well because they reply in a very timely manner, you just have to follow the instructions which are posted on their door. i thought my colt 25 was jammed & wanted them to take a look at it to see if they could fix it, (they could've lied to me and took my money to fix it but they were honest) but they didn't see anything as they even tested it for me just to be sure. I went to David's to do an FFL transfer since they were convenient for me and well established. I went in and we filled out the required form and then they said all they had to do was email it. Late the next day, I found out they had not sent the form. I left messages for the person handling it, but never got a call back. I finally got ahold of the person doing the transfer, but after 4 days of messing with them I told them to forget it. The next place took a matter of minutes to send the form. Multiple review sites had complaints about David's handling of FFLs. Wish I would have read them first. read more

I did an FFL transfer and they made me wait almost an extra week because "the person who handles the transfers" was not there. They told me in the future to tell them before I have anything transferred to them. I did not feel very welcome. Maybe because I did not purchase my firearm at their store? I am not sure, but had they treated me better I may have purchased from them in the future. I have low tolerance for bad customer service. I will even pay higher prices if I am treated with respect. Also, they charged me $50 for a FFL transfer, the usual charge is $25. Oh well. read more

I have bought 4 guns through David's, many accessories, and had a great experience every time. The only reason I don't give 5 stars, and I really should, is because they are usually very very busy. One reason that some people may experience "poor" customer service is that they really do spend time with customers. This is not buying a fishing pole or a scoop of ice cream so you want the person you are working with to pay attention to what you need and what you need it for. I have always found their staff very knowledgeable and very forthright - if they don't care for something, they make you aware of it and why. The biggest plus is their inventory. They have a lot of very desirable guns available - not just the samples from manufacturers that many Bass Pro places have. I called around Atlanta for 3 days recently looking for 2 particular models - David's had them both. Just be patient, it's a small shop but good people and great choice of guns. As I write this, gun ban legislation is pending and they have been swamped. I got great service but had to wait 30 minutes for an available sales person. Anyway, this will be my go-to place for getting what I want, but I won't expect to get in and out of there in 10 minutes. Gun buyers of every level should be comfortable in going here, learning and leaving with the best solution. read more

I purchased a Liberty safe from David's Gun room many years ago. Since then, I have called them three times to move that safe for me (It is 600 pounds empty). Twice they've moved it up or down 3 flights of stairs, and several times they have moved it over hardwood floors. All the moves went perfectly, and they have never so much as left a tiny scratch on the floors or walls. Recently they moved it all the way from Atlanta to Chattanooga. I cannot say enough about the quality of the Excellent service I've received from David's in all my interactions with them. Worst customer service ever. People behind counter seem to make an effort not to wait, as in avoiding eye contact, walking to other side of counter and routinely going to help someone who came in after me. I'm not a small guy so I'm fairly easy to spot and came there because they were supposed to have the gun I wanted. This place is a joke and their prices are considerably higher, for example Walther PPX regularly selling @ 279-299 at David 569.00. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! read more

Bolt got stuck on my rifle. Brought it to David's, they tore down the rifle and fixed the jam in about 5 minutes and didn't charge a dime.

WARNING DONT GO!!! I was repeatedly insulted & degraded. When I answered back to the insults I was told crippled people shouldn't talk like that. They absolutely did not backup the service for my pistol. When the first attempt to repair my gun didn't work, I took it back. As normal people do I took it back for the same problem. Only when I was called to get it was I told I would have to pay almost double the first price. I paid the ransom. They refused to show me that the repairs worked.
