Chris and Brittney are a cute, honest and professional young couple, that run an excellent tree service. Our home was pretty well demolished from the May 4th storm (a cedar snapped and crashed onto our roof). We were out of town, so had to rely on using the internet to find a tree service. First call was to Dead or Alive. Chris kept me abreast of his status (keep in mind the snarled traffic caused by downed power lines, etc). He arrived with his team and proceeded to trim back tree limbs into the dark hours and while lightening was still occurring. Brittney took over keeping me abreast of status. Next day, Chris arranged to have crane remove the tree (approximately 6 feet diameter) from roof, while limiting further damage. Cannot recommend them enough. read more

We had Dead or Alive service remove (3) fir trees from our property...one was leaning and ready to fall... the other two were just starting to lean after our heavy January wind and rain. Chris and his team arrived with two trucks, a chipper, saws and backpack blowers and did an amazing job! These guys know their business and it was obvious they are pros. They brought each tree down with precision and expertise, being careful not to drop limbs on our landscaping. We had an 80 foot tree that was dying and needed to be removed. It was located next to our septic, my neighbour's cinderblock wall and other landscaping I wanted saved. This team was AMAZING!!! They took this huge tree down bit by bit like it was nothing. Watching them work together was like watching a well oiled machine. They are a great set of guys too. So friendly and respectful of our property. They answered all of our questions along the way. They cleaned up so well that you couldn't tell they were even there or that there was an 80 foot tree there 2 hours earlier. I totally recommend this team!!! Chris Hughes and "gang" were on my property for the last 2 days cutting down 100ft plus Douglas Fir(s) in close proximity to my home. THese were massive trees over 3 ft in diameter. What an honest, sincere, thorough company this man represents. The work was complete, an awesome job of cleaning up afterwards and completed in a timely and professional manner. Chris Hughes and his crew did an exemplary job removing several trees this past spring and again this fall. Two were especially challenging because of the height and the multiple branching that occurred, in addition to the proximity to our house. They met the challenge, and the cleanup left only the part of the wood we wanted for firewood. All the crew were very respectful when responding to any of our requests. The same service was provided to our neighbor during the fall cutting when they removed a tree along our property line that was endangering our house. FANTASTIC JOB! I got three estimates before hiring them. They inspected all of the trees on our property. I thought their expertise and recommendations were the best. And their prices were also extremely fair. We had them out to remove a dying evergreen on our property. They were very quick and had everything done in less than one hour. There were fantastic - fast, careful of everything on the ground and did a stupendous clean up job (and I am fussy). Even our neighbors were out watching and were impressed with their work. I had a tree in our front yard that was pretty much rotted, hollow and you can see through the tree itself and was not sure how much longer the tree had till it will fall over. called Dead or Alive tree service, Chris came by within an hour of his busy schedule and did a quote. not only was it a good price to pass up, but he called his team and they were able to stop by within 15 minutes of the quote. From calling to arrange an estimate, thru the end of the job, the folks with whom I dealt at Dead or Alive were timely, professional, and thorough. I needed one dead tree felled, I got three bids. All three were basically the same price but this crew was the first to return my message for an estimate, the first to get out to make the estimate, and the first to have time for the job. The crew two guys that did the work were early to the job site, and aside from a stump and a pile of firewood, I can hardly tell they were here. Great service. Chris came out and gave use estimate which was easy and quick. We had two trees cut down and a bunch of branches taken off others. We did wait about a month times from the estimate to the service but that wasn't a problem for us. I assume many people are getting trees cut down before winter comes! When they did come, they did a great job. Got it done faster then we anticipated and cleaned up very nicely. We also have a tough driveway to work with so they were nice about that. These guys did a terrific job. Very professional and conscientious. They cleaned up some Maple trees, really letting more light into the gardens. Took down another maple that opened up the light in the veggie garden. Then cleaned up an Alder tree that was encroaching on an ornamental tree. Expert tree climbers, very fascinating to watch. They worked carefully around other plants, didn't damage anything. Picked up every single twig. We would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

Neighbor hired them They had no problem trespassing on my property even when told no. Then told me they would have to destroy a 20 year old bonsai tree to remove a branch from a tree on the neighbors property. They also said if they did they would not be responsible for any damages to my property. While watching them, they cut a large branch and almost knocked one of there other guys off the adjacent tree. They are dangerous, rude, and have no respect of others property. read more

Chris and his crew cut down a 50 ft tree in our yard. They were professional in all aspects of bidding the job, scheduling and the process of cutting the tree down. His crew arrived at scheduled time, took care of taking tree and branches down safely with no risk to our roof. They chipped and removed all branches and cleaned up site prior to leaving. From the friendly booking person to the folks that cut down the trees and ground the stumps, the people at Dead or Alive Tree Service were great! They completed the work quickly and on time, left the yard cleaner then when they came, and even disposed of some thick lilac cuttings I wasn't sure of how to deal with. We had 3 large trees taken down this morning and they did an amazing job. They cleaned up every limb and stick they could find. The guys that came out worked so hard and were so personable. I couldn't believe how they worked together and being so careful of each other when the tree chunks were coming down.
