Dr. Deanna and her staff are soooooo friendly yet professional. They make you feel at ease and comfortable, which was very important to me since I've never had an adjustment before and hearing my bones crack freaks the living out of me. She makes jokes and talks you through the whole process - how to position your body, when to inhale/exhale, etc. Michelle is a great massage therapist who knows which parts of your muscles need her the most. I barely had to tell her anything other than how good it felt. Their lotion is scented so you don't smell all yucky afterwards (this is muy importante if you sneak in a session during your lunch break and has to get back to work), you walk out of there smelling like cucumber melon! Whee~ Parking is free for 2 hours in the lot behind the building. More than enough spaces so you don't have to worry about finding street parking or anything. The office is located right on top of Float. -- They are moving to a new location on President's day, they will be on Madison instead. Appointments are very easy to make and they try to work around your schedule to fit you in. They also call the night before to confirm and remind you in case you have a memory of a fish - so no worries! I have known Dr. Dickson since 1999 when we just moved in Pasadena. Almost 20 years later, she is still the same - loving, passionate of her chiropractic work, a sense of humor, humble, and a beautiful soul! I came recently because someone hit our car while I picked up our daughter at her school's car line. Our lawyer sent us to their own list of Chiropractors in Pasadena. My daughter and I went to one of the referrals. I felt that the Chiropractor accepted us because he is being paid. So I asked him some questions due to my back/arm pain. He indeed answered but his tone of communication was very impolite. I did not feel coming back to him after our first visit. I called up Dr. Dickson and left a message. Her Secretary returned my call and told me that Dr. Dickson re-assured her that she would take care of us. Off we went the following day. The moment we arrived at her place, we felt very relaxed. Her Assistant Sara was very kind as well. We got snacks and water while filling up the forms at the waiting area. We felt at home! Dr. Dickson does mix chiropractic - X-ray evaluation, Palmer or straight chiropractic (adjustments), physiotherapy (empower patients), chiropractic tools, heating pad, and massage. She is the only one in town that I know that incorporates all of these. She can pinpoint exactly where is my body's pain or aches. Also, she takes her time! I first found Dickson Chiro through a groupon, and I've never been so disappointed. The office was difficult to find in the shopping center, but I was able to find the place with ten minutes to spare. The receptionist was very nice, but not actually a receptionist, she was a patient who was filling in for the day while the dr. was gone. It seemed odd to me, but I filled out the paperwork and then waited for thirty five minutes. The dr. was on her way from a San Diego and was running late. What upset me about this is, I would have happily rescheduled if someone had called me. Personally I hate waiting and 35 minutes is a long time when I have a full day scheduled and the dr isn't even in town. I recieved a massage from Matt and it was amazing because my shoulder was really hurting at the time, and he helped a lot. I also told the dr. about my hurt shoulder, but during the adjustment she must have forgot because she jammed it really hard into the table, and then said, "Whoops, that must of hurt." Yep. Other than that, the adjustment was good and with the massage I was feeling somewhat better. So I decided to give them another chance. (Plus they're really close to my house) On my second visit I arrived 5 minutes early. I could tell the two rooms were full and one other person was waiting in the lobby. I've had adjustments my whole life and I know they don't take too long so I figured a good 15 minute wait and then I would be in a room. I waited 35 minutes (That must be when my patience runs out) and only one person left. I decided to leave after that. About 15 minutes later the dr. called my cell phone saying they were ready for me. That's almost an hour after my scheduled appointment time. Dr. Deanna is a great chiropractor and very friendly -- cracked my back all kinds of crazy ways and now, no more back pain! I plan to keep going back for regular adjustments. Can't say enough GOOD THINGS about Dr. Deanna & her staff. They are such nice, kind, caring people. They work hard for you, to schedule you in no matter what, because they care about their patients. Well, I feel like a friend not a patient here really, and I've been coming to Dr. D for about 8 years. I work out a lot and at the computer so I have back pain/issues and muscle aches. The combination here of massage therapists and Dr. D cracking me just right every time = no pain, more performance in my workouts, and bonus! they work with insurance. Michelle was great when she's there, Matt is very nice but I'd say Deon is the best masseuse there, she has no problem working out my achy muscles and she's very strong. I can say sometimes there might be a wait here or there if a patient was booked wrong, or someone got sick, etc. I have found that disgruntled people will be upset by anything that is not 100% professional. But the family doctor office I go to is very professional, and the staff there is unfriendly, the doctor is kind but sterile, and NO I don't enjoy going there. I'm so glad I went to this office. I had some pain in my left SI joint. I not only wanted to go to get some treatment for the joint but I had some questions too. I got two separate treatments. A massage and adjustment. The massage was good and loosened me up for the adjustment, which is done by Dr. Deanna. I explained the problems I was having and asked what could be the problem. After examination Dr.Deanna told me my left SI joint was locked up but that simple adjustment should treat the problem. Well that was three days ago and I already feel much better. She started as a massage therapist then became a chiropractor. I have referred 2 coworkers there and she offered a free massage with each referral. Dr. Deanna is a wonderful doctor. She's really sweet and funny, making you feel as comfortable as possible while she gives you your adjustment. I have a really stiff neck and upper back from sitting at a desk all day, and poor posture. This meant that sometimes those areas tingled and ached from all the tension gathered in them. Since I started going I've been feeling much better. Her rates are incredibly reasonable, especially if you buy the packages and pay all at once. It means a bit of a hit on your credit card bill but the money saved is worth it. Buying a package means an adjustment and a massage, which is definitely the way to go. If you choose not to get a package, she does have half off Tuesdays for adjustments. If you only want a massage by a physical therapist, they offer those as well. I highly recommend this place. Dr. Deanna and her staff moved offices recently (they used to be located on Lake and Cordova), and I had a chance to check out their new office on Madison Ave. I came here because I had a Groupon for a Full chiropractic exam, treatment and 60 minute massage, and my appointment was split into half. The second half of my appointment was scheduled at the new office. During this visit, I had another adjustment, where Dr. Deanna cracked my back and my neck. After that, I had the second half of my massage. Since her usual masseuse wasn't available, I actually received my massage from Dr. Deanna herself. She had remembered my problem spots that I had mentioned to the previous masseuse (Matt) and also her during my last appointment. During this massage I realized that she also was a little rough on my back. I guess a chiropractic massage is different than the usual massage. But sometimes you just gotta give some "tough love" to those stubborn knots that you get from sitting in an office all day long. I bet my knots will be feeling a whole lot better tomorrow! The only thing I noticed, is that I was kind of shorted on my massage time. I was supposed to get 30 minutes, but I only got 25 minutes instead. In the middle of my massage, Dr. Deanna had some business to handle and stepped away from the massage room for 5 minutes. But when she came back, she didn't add 5 minutes back to my massage. However, I honestly don't think she noticed the time since things were a little busy. Despite that, everything else was good. Dr. Deanna is very friendly and is a conversationalist. She was easy to talk to and also very chill. Parking is either on the street, or in the parking lot right next to them. Keep in mind though, that if you're parking in the parking lot, it's $5 flat rate to park in there. I heard that the parking attendant leaves around 3:30, so if you come after that, you won't have to pay for parking. If you ever are in need of a good back cracking (aka adjustment) or massage to get some knots out, definitely give this place a try. She is not a morning person but she knows I am and she has gone in as early as 8am because that was the only time I could go. Unfortunately I never even made it to the appointment because just setting it up and getting their became a big task. First I called and left a voice mail saying I would like to make an appointment to come in for a visit. I did not get a return call until a day and a half later. I eventually spoke with the office manager and booked an appointment and that' where it all began. On Monday I confirmed a 6pm appointment for Tuesday evening with the office manager. Dr. Deanna called me later that day and asked what time was my appt? I told her I just had this conversation with your manager and it was at 6pm. She asked, can you come in at 5:30pm, I said I couldn't, then she called back and said can you come at 5pm, I said no. Granted I had already explained all this to the office manager so I already felt like I was going in circles. Why is dr Deanna involved in scheduling, I thought that's what her manager did. I called back Tuesday and told dr. Deanna I was able to arrange with my job to leave early and I would be at her office at 5:30pm. She said, okay great. I arrive at 5:33pm exactly and knock on the door for 10 minutes with no response, so I decided to leave. I called the office and left a voice message that I was at the office as scheduled and nobody was there. She called me at 6:40pm and said she was on her way back to the office could I wait for her because she was running errands. Are you kidding me? Im a new patient, I left work 40 minutes early, was in traffic the entire 40 minutes and you're running errands. I was beside myself! I dont' think I've ever experienced such unprofessionalism. She seemed like a sweet person and she may be good at what she does but she doesn't know how to run a business or woo new patients. What a shame, another one bites the dust! read more

I met doctor Dickson at a personal retreat over the summer. I have had back issues since I was a teenager and I somehow hurt my back while on the retreat. I was in an extreme amount of pain and when my friend asked Dr. Dickson she didn't hesitate to adjust my back which brought immediate relief! DO NOT GO HERE!!!... I was in a car accident and went for massage therapy. The masseuse was HORRIBLE!! I ended up leaving right in the middle of my massage. She pushed on my spine injuring me further. People were talking loud and she kept leaving me during my massage to answer the phone. Dr. D is just as amazing of a person as she is a chiropractor. She has a great sense of humor, is always cheerful, and genuinely cares about people. That is hard to find. I bet she properly uses her blinker when she merges from one lane to another and says excuse me when she bumps into a person in line at Starbucks. (Yeah, I can get a little salty about those things--Ha ha) That in itself makes her a gift to humanity, well at least to frustrated LA drivers like myself. LOL. Her office and massage areas are relaxing and nicely designed. I have went to chiropractors before and the offices feel very institutional and I had never felt any benefits. Dr. D is super accessible with appointments and quick to crack and align my back and neck. I get the back massage from Mark (sorry if I am getting his name wrong), then go to Dr. D.
