Don't get pierced here!!!!!!!!!!! I want to love this establishment so bad. The tattoo artists and front desk especially are kind, welcoming, and so cool!! It's cool, it's clean, it feels safe and inviting. Great location. I have three ear piercings in the same ear done by Fred (daith, rook, helix but really a flat) and they're all incredibly wonky. I'm a UCD student and at least five others I know have the same wonky flat/helix situation going on. My ears luckily respond well to piercings but others have not been so lucky.. I can't even put a hoop in without it looking strange and it's too close to the edge of my ear to be a true flat. I'm going to have to let it close after two years of having it. While Fred handled getting multiple piercings in one sitting and my heavy indecisiveness well, I don't think much of his work counts as artistic. It might not be a problem for some, but it is enough for me not to go back and also not recommend them for piercings. That being said, prices are reasonable and they don't charge extra for jewelry (bless). I have 16 other piercings all over my body. The experience here feels suffocating. It's awkward and muted, yet amplified in all the wrong ways. Limited jewelry options. If I haven't gotten it across yet, the vibes are off!!!! I can't imagine getting my first couple piercings done here, and the shop should definitely look into other piercing artists. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way!! read more

I have wanted to write this for a very very long time....I'm sad it took me so long but I just want others to be warned. I got my nose pierced by their piercer I think his name is Fred, and it was awful. He had me lay my head back on the table and put my head in between his thighs right in front of his crotch. I was alone in the room and im pissed at myself for not bringing my friend in with me. It hurt really badly to lean my neck over the edge of the table and it felt sooo weird that he had my head literally in his crotch area. Then he had me stand up and did the piercing. I went home and cried. I still think about it and its been a long time since it happened. I recently asked other piercers if that's a normal way to do it and they ALL SAID NO. Just wanted to warn other women about this guy. Please dont go to them for piercings...the tattoos are great but avoid getting pierced. read more

I thought two of my piercings had closed up- turns out they weren't! Freddy was super chill and popped new jewelry in, and they're good as new! The place is super clean, everything is really sterile and they take your temperature when you check in. Usually at piercings/tattoo parlors they have you fill out a paper form, but here it's all online, making it super streamline and easy! I made an appointment over the phone and the gal at the front desk is so lovely. I've never updated a review but after the owners nasty reply to me (see screenshot attached) I am rewriting my review, for the benefit of future customers. 1) The owner had the audacity to say I arrived irritated. I literally walked in stoked to get my sobriety tattoo. It was her disgustingly rude eye roll that made me irritated. 2) Why would you even dare insult a potential customer? Nobody does that. I'm not saying you need to kiss the @$$ of every customer but to go out of your way to explain you were "just trying to be nice" in a frustrated tone was not just rude, it was bad business. As a former sales person I wouldn't just be rude to treat a client disrespectfully, I would be the polar opposite of smart. 3) I talked to 2 other tattoo shops in Woodland and explained how you were rude. "We have heard the same from others" was their response. 4) You are welcome to say you would not eyeroll someone. But it's literally what you did. What are you even typing there? Business owners should NEVER eyeroll members of the public, even if they're not your customer. I get you own the business. Cool. Treat EVERYONE respectfully. Though I did NOT show up anxious, even if I had...you don't eyeroll. There are literally 0 scenarios where it makes sense to be so dismissive and awkward with someone inside your business. 5) You were NOT met with anxious sarcasm in return. I was literally joking with you, joking how I think people should stop saying "hi how are you, good, how are you" and you take it as anxious sarcasm? Perhaps you need to up your social skills? Nah jk. We both know you wrote that as an excuse for your behavior. How sad that you can't take responsibility and chalk it up as a mistake. It's very clear that you've got an ego issue. But you see, outside of your business you are just a normal person. Perhaps you should try being just a normal person inside your business? You know, leave your ego at the door? Frankly your attitude reminded me of a power hungry mall cop who wished he was a real police officer. Try treating people respectfully, DESPITE you owning the business. And let me be very clear: your response is full of lies and shows your lack of integrity. Be better. 6) I didn't share my name with you. My email only shows JT. So you calling me by my first name shows that you went and did some detective work and that you wanted to show me you know my first name. Cool? Super bizarre. There's no way you'd have my first name outside of you doing research. How about you put that same effort into learning better customer service? Again, 2 separate tattoo shops in Woodland (not 530 Tattoo, where I had a great experience) confirmed that other customers have had the same negative experience at your business. I've actually never had a biz owner choose to be snooty over serving a customer. And then for you to come on here and lie, saying I was anxious...ask 530 Tattoo how anxious I was there. We were laughing all day. I couldn't have gone from incredibly anxious at your place to happy go-lucky at their place 20 minutes later. That's just not how it works. I lost my dog, Lola of 15 1/2 years in January, she was my entire world, and by my side since she was 8-weeks old. I wanted to honor her memory in a very special way by getting an ash tattoo. I sent some of her ashes to a lab to sanitize, clean, and professionally mix in with tattoo ink. This was my first tattoo experience, so I wanted to find the absolute best artist. After a ton of research, reading reviews, etc. there was no question, Death or Glory was THE spot! The work from all of the artists at DoG is second to none. All of the work from DoG is amazing, but I wanted to get a portrait style tattoo that captured her eyes, and other facial features. When I saw the gallery of dog portraits work by Phil Geck, my jaw dropped on the floor! The emotion in the eyes, their spirit even--FLAWLESS! I actually got a bit choked up seeing these masterpieces because I felt the energy behind each dog. Phil is booked out 2-3 months in advance, but was able to schedule an appointment because when he starts to accept new appointments, you have to be ready online at x time to book it. When I went in person to pay the deposit, I met Chelsea at the front. Obviously, this being my first tattoo, I was a bit nervous, and didn't know what to expect. Chelsea was AMAZING! So kind, and patient with all of my questions, setting expectations, and suggesting the spot for the tattoo! I felt so welcomed at DoG. Phil made the entire process a breeze. He even changed the design to adjust some features, while I was there! That was above and beyond, and I fully expected to pay an additional fee for that, but they didn't charge me a thing. Chelsea and Phil made my first tattoo experience unforgettable! I can not thank you two enough! Now everywhere I go, Lola will be with me, in my blood and in my soul. I initially came in to get my ears re-pierced. Freddy was great, said I didn't really need them re-pierced with a gun and he thought he could just poke a couple studs in, which would cost less and be less painful. He was fantastic, no pain and it was a breeze. Came back yesterday for a tattoo with Osiris of my dog's nose print. My beloved English mastiff passed away last year and when we put him down, I asked for the print, with the idea of getting it tattooed. It took awhile before I could finally do it! Guys, seriously? JONNY IS THE ONE. After getting my first tattoo less than a couple months ago, I was excited to book another one with Jonny. I was super hesitant at first because this tattoo is way bigger than what I had gotten the first time. I set up the appointment with him the beginning of August and was super surprised he was able to fit me in a month because -trust me y'all, he is a busy man. It seemed a little fast for me but I went with it. Yesterday Jonny made my piece of peonies come to life. I laid there for almost 6 hours while he did his thing. Jonny is super talented and I knew after getting my first piece done by him, I had to come back. I did not realize how much detail he put into what I got until after. It is so beautiful and I am totally in love with it. I'll admit where I got it did make me a bit uncomfortable but, Jonny & Chelsey made my worries disappear quickly. I know y'all, almost 6 hours seems like a long time, a lot of awkward silences & maybe even a nap, BUT definitely not here. I cannot stress enough about how much I admire Johnny's work. You really cannot go wrong. ALSO LET ME EMPHASIZE THIS, the staff here at Death or Glory are super chill. It really did not feel like i was there for more than an hour to be honest. Okay, I was an older tattoo virgin, and after extensive research, I decided to have my first, last, and only tattoo done here. I had an idea of what I wanted but didn't have the details in my head but I let Phil know kind of what I was looking for and then let him take over with his artistic ability. I was convinced that he would do a great job, but seriously, he blew my mind! It was like he knew exactly what I wanted, even though I really wasn't sure myself and I tried to articulate what I was hoping for, although I was a bit vague and knew I'd know it when I saw it. So, when he showed me the design he came up with, I was kind of shocked. It was almost like he'd gone into my subconscious and pulled out the perfect tattoo for me. I immediately loved it and I couldn't figure out how he knew what I wanted more than I did! I mean, we had only spoken for a very short time, how is it possible? So, after all is said and done, he finished his masterpiece. Let me say that Phil is an absolute perfectionist! He worked on it until it was exactly like he had imagined. When I looked at the final project, it kind of brought tears to my eyes. It is so beyond what I hoped for or expected and I'm extremely proud to show it off and to look at it many times every day for as many days as I have left. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and put me at ease, and I'm happy with how my piercing turned out! The only suggestion I have for the business would be to carry a larger selection of jewelry. For my second lobe piercings, I was able to have 14k gold piercing earrings put in, and not having that option was a downside for me. I was also surprised my earring did not have a flat back.
