I am a recent transplant to the area and had originally picked Tidewater Dentistry, Dr. Williamson and his staff because the dental insurance that I had was accepted by his office. I feel like I won the lottery. From the very first visit, they have gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, welcome, and absolutely fearless. So much so, that I do not have insurance any longer and continue at this practice because they are so WONDERFUL! Also - they offer a discount if you are paying with cash or check - BONUS. There may also be other discounts available and all you need to do is call and ask. Staff has also commented they would be happy to help me go over insurance plans should I go that route again. I have NEVER been to a practice where I have been offered that help. Dr. Williamson is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful and kind. He spends as much time as you would like with you and thoroughly answers all questions. Also, I needed an 'emergency appointment' to have a crown re-glued before I was leaving on a trip. I was worried that I was going to have to pay for the visit and the procedure - that's the case at all. This is a practice where they do NOT nickel and dime you to death. I only paid for the procedure and they made my appt ASAP. I cannot say enough about how wonderful staff is as well. Cleanings are absolutely stress-free! This practice is really, really great. When placing the bridge for permanent, I felt a tingle and weakness to the tooth placement next to it. I adamantly spoke my concerns to which I was ignored and they continued the placement without a 2nd review. Now, the bridge, (so disgusted after the cost they charged), is breaking off bits of porcelain just brushing my teeth. And to it's final falling out of place, as no post was planted and no connected to tooth as should for strength. I went in person to address, called to address (person just ignored calls). Could it be person knew they did low-grade dentistry thus did not want to confront the facts and a fix? I do not recommend or support the workmanship or products they purchased to do this procedure. Having had bridges prior of other business for 15+yrs and still solid, I am totally disappointed. The only reason I came here was because we recently moved and I wanted a dentist closer to our new home. I loved my longtime dentist and had been seen just 8 months earlier for a routine cleaning and exam. I have also never had a cavity in my life. At my first visit here, I was told I suddenly had 9 cavities requiring fillings and that my wisdom teeth needed to be removed. Given my dental history, I was shocked and went back to my longtime dentist for an independent second opinion. They found ZERO cavities and told me my wisdom teeth do not need to be removed. Even more concerning, my husband was told by this practice that he had 12-13 cavities requiring fillings. After my experience, he also went to my longtime dentist for an independent evaluation. He was also found to have ZERO cavities. Between the two of us, this practice recommended approximately 21-22 fillings. Our second opinions found that ZERO were needed. My husband was also told here that one of his permanent canine teeth needed to be removed as soon as possible. Rather than rushing to extract a permanent tooth, our longtime dentist referred him to a periodontal specialist to determine whether the tooth can be preserved. A difference of opinion over one questionable area is understandable. Recommending 21-22 fillings between two people when subsequent examinations found zero cavities in either of us is an extraordinary and deeply concerning discrepancy. Had we not sought second opinions, we could have undergone extensive, irreversible dental work that our longtime dentist says we did not need. Needless to say, we will happily make the extra drive to our longtime dentist from now on. I absolutely do not recommend this practice, and based on our experience, I would be extremely cautious about choosing this office for your dental care.

I can't say if this team is the cheapest, or the best technically. I didn't shop around asking for specific pricing for specific procedures. I'm not a trained dental examiner, able to assess technique and knowledge. But as a consumer, I am very happy because the prices seem to be in line with what I'm used to, and the skill and confidence of the Aspen team was impressive to me.
