Everyone in a good mood (face masks on as state protocol) Wait was less than 20' and our table was well shaded which was nice because it was as around 2pm and 85 degrees Everyone enjoyed their lunch We were hungry so had appetizers calamari and large potato chips (I think they called them twist) large was a large bowl and great for the 4 of us Our waitress Rachel was so attentive but the other staff made sure we had what we needed to which was very much appreciated Vibe was so good after lunch we thought we would sit on the Adirondack chairs near the water and watch the boats come and go. Ok! So let me start by saying that this is not the Deauville that we all remember. I wish that I would have taken more photos of the interior of the restaurant because some older photos on this Yelp page just do not do it justice. The Deauville got a make over. But not just any makeover. A thoughtful, and beautiful homage to the way it once was makeover. Leaving some signature architectural details in place and updating the design to make it feel modern and clean but like it has always been there. Great job. Think tin ceiling, board and batten on the walls, and of course a giant vintage lobster! We had been brave enough to venture over in the height of the summer to have drinks and some food on the deck. It gets pretty busy! The menu was huge, it covered every food item anyone would ever want. Drinks were good, the view was good. All good! In the depths of the winter we ventured back. The menu is scaled back, obviously because it isn't as busy as summer. It's perfect! Still so many delicious options. Nightly specials. Happy Hour. It was hard to narrow it down, so we got a little bit of everything and shared. I also loved how they share some history about the Inn on the menu. Nice touch! Our server, Steve was an absolute gentleman and consummate professional. He raised the bar of service, like we were at a 7 star restaurant. I'm not even kidding. His menu knowledge and suggestions were fabulous. The drinks were great! A sidecar with a cinnamon rim, a spin on an old fashioned, and a delicious and moderately priced Rosé. The food came out quickly and cooked to perfection. For starters we had the Crab Meat Cocktail that is served on a bed of bib lettuce with a delicate Dijon dressing. We also had a fried Calamari with diced cherry peppers and came with a spicy sauce. For the entrees- I had a Veal Milanese with an Arugula Salad, Pecorino cheese, lemon, cherry tomatoes and finished with balsamic. It was HUGE! My dining companions had a giant bone-in roasted Pork Chop with caramelized Brussel Sprouts and the other had a NY Strip with a Lobster Tail. We got a salad for the table, it was the Mixed Green Salad and it had thinly sliced carrot and fennel. It really was the nicest salad!!! We didn't have room for dessert after all our food. But my friend did get a six pack of craft beer in the pub side to take home! That was pretty handy! I had the best time! Everything was so good! After waiting 30 minutes to dock, our boat on top of what seemed to be a dockhand taking a friends boat that arrived after us we were denied service at the Deuville for a party of 14. Even after we suggested that we would do tables of 7 and 7 or any other combination, not even requiring the need to be near each other, We were told we needed to speak to an event coordinator for a party that large. As a family who has been supporting the Deuville for over 30 years this was not only disappointing but ridiculous. Do better Deuville. read more

We decided to try out the restaurant for the first time last night. The food is OK but way, way overpriced. My fried flounder sandwich was $17!!! A cheesesteak sandwich is also $17. We were going to try the stuffed flounder entree but avoided as it was $40+....for flounder! Flounder is everywhere in OC. This place is good for HH and a drink and maybe some apps. Great if you own a boat as you can dock and get drinks and food. The food is too pricey for the quality. Enjoy the outdoor bar for a drink and scenery. read more

We are submitting the review based on the experience we had during the Luau special event on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant is situated in a perfect scenic location. The sunset on the bay side is so beautiful. The building itself is styled like most Jersey shore beach bars but it is kept up well and in good repair. We paid $160 per person for a pig roast bbq and 2 hour open bar. The food was mediocre and included roasted flavorless pork, white rice, Spanish rice, chicken kebobs (that they ran out of) and commercially produced dinner rolls. The open bar consisted of two snippy waitresses that spent half the time making a rum drink called the welcome drink (that wasn't bad) and when asked if there was a possibility to get other cocktails they said "we got rum vodka and gin". They just didn't seem like they wanted to be there. A waitress was assigned to our table, but we literally did not see her the entire night. It must have been the special event, and trying to run the main restaurant at the same time, but the whole experience felt rushed, the staff felt put out, it was disorganized and it makes me wonder if we would want to go and have dinner in the normal restaurant or not. I would have given this review 2 stars leaning toward 1 if not for how beautiful the evening and sunset were... but the Deauville Inn did redeem itself in selecting Paradise Island Entertainment for the Luau show. Could not have had a better time with this amazing family of dancers and musicians. They are available to book,,, check their website. My wife and I were just looking to sit at the bar and enjoy some appetizers and a glass of wine. All was good and we ordered soups, some oysters and the cocktail style shrimp. However the shrimp were overcooked and tough. They are priced at $27 for 6 nice sized large shrimp. I told the waitress that they were overcooked when she brought us our bill and she said thank you for telling me. I wasn't assuming anything at that point, but they really were not good. She made no adjustment to our bill and I suppose that's fine, but at the end of the day all she did was thank me for telling her our dinner was not good. The worst part is, I talked my wife into going to the Deauville because her last experience was no a good one. However, I visited a couple of weeks ago and I enjoyed my dinner. But now we are back to having a poor opinion of the Deauville again. read more

We eat here during the off season and more frequently in the summer. Tonight the food was horrible. Even the house chips were too burnt and had too much seasoning. They need to serve the snapper the way they used to a couple years ago. The fish special was disgusting. Horrible! The two lobster tail dish was gross. No idea how they are preparing them. It's a shame because the servers are very kind and it's a great atmosphere. But you can tell the ownership is stingy and trying to cut corners to put more cash in their pockets. It will backfire. A nice spot in Strathmere, just a stone's throw from Ocean City. We had a great experience here, perhaps hit them on a good night based on some of the other reviews. The restaurant space is big. There is a large outdoor area that seemed to be occupied primarily by young partying folks. The indoor area was nice and a bit quieter. Our service was pretty good. I had the Deauville Rum Bucket which was delicious and very potent. The crab cake sandwich was my entree, it was great. Everyone else I was with seemed to like their entrees as well. I read the Yelp review before heading there and was cautious. The poor reviews could not have been more wrong. Great burger! Delicious salad. Perfect oysters on the half shell! Decadent bread pudding to finish it all off. Ken and John served us at a table in the bar area and were attentive, knowledgeable and good spirited. Great tunes playing. Highly recommend. Really cool spot on the water in Strathmere! There is a ton of outdoor seating as well as a dining room inside. My group sat out at the sand bar (picnic tables) which had a very casual food menu. I ordered the carnitas tacos (served with a side of tortilla chips) - they were delicious and full of pork! Our waitress was super sweet and there was a beautiful sunset the night we went. Great spot for a drink and a quick bite. The outdoor bar is spacious and has self seating picnic tables on the sand. We grabbed a couple drinks and watched the sunset. Came back another night for dining inside with a larger group. There was no trouble getting seated and we all had some delicious apps. The Brussels sprouts are a must have! The crab Mac and cheese was delicious to begin with as well. The kettle chips are a staple so we had to order those. The loaded tots were crispy and great. Definitely would return! Since there is a charge for "no shows" I wanted to be sure they had checked me off. When I asked our waitress to confirm this she seemed put out. My chicken sandwich with cold fries was the least offensive. The surf and turf ordered by one friend had a small, mircowaved, tasteless frozen lobster tail and small, tasteless filet mignon for $50. The birthday girl ordered prime rib which didn't look prime at all and she said was "OK". The venue sits on the water set aside from the busy part of Ocean City, which was a pleasant surprise. It's also Massive with multiple levels, indoor and outdoor dining, a speak easy room, seating on the beach etc. One can see why it's a great event (and wedding venue). Came here in Nov for nice outdoor dining. We didn't have to wait at all for a table on the deck. We got the potato chips for an app which were fantastic. We got the crab cake sandwich which was good, not the best I've had. We also got the French dip sandwich which was a waste, the best was so stale I had to take on piece off so I could bite into it.
