Six petite, tender and rich meatballs, the kind that makes you briefly forgive the invention of fast casual dining. I had the lasagna, layered and comforting, like a well organized memory. She had the chicken parmigiana, which achieved that rare balance of crisp and tender, as if someone in the kitchen still actually cared about cause and effect. Both dishes were executed with confidence, the kind that suggests this kitchen knows exactly what it is doing, even if the room around it is having an identity crisis. The wine was not bad.
