I reached out to Debra after discovering my infant daughter had a rare food allergy condition. Before knowing a single thing about us or even scheduling an appointment, she called and told me I'm feeding her the wrong type of yogurt and that I should be giving her soy yogurt; She then told me she had never heard of my daughter's condition (which made sense since she had just told me to feed her one of the TOP trigger foods to AVOID with her condition). When I decided to see a pediatric gastroenterologist instead, Debra ridiculed me and said the doctors will "not do anything" for me and tell me there's nothing wrong with her and send me right back to her for nutrition advice. She also told me my daughter's pediatrician wouldn't know anything and would be of no help to me. She said she had done "a lot of reading up" on this condition (keep in mind she had never heard of it 24 hours prior) and that "it's really not a big deal" - (Yes, she really told me that my daughter's severe food allergies were no big deal). When I continued to say I wanted to cancel the appointment, Debra then told me I need to be careful because I am going to create negative food associations for her and I am going to project my own anxiety onto her which could result in eating disorders. My daughter is NINE MONTHS OLD and I'm literally just trying to figure out what foods she can safely eat. Debra's unprofessionalism and ignorance was absolutely astounding. read more

The visit was informative, but she is completely unprofessional. I thought I had a co-pay but my insurance company ended up paying for the entire visit. When I requested a refund, it took me a YEAR to get it. After initially agreeing to check her books and send me a refund, she stopped replying to any communication. I had to ask my insurance company to reach out to her, and afterwards, she finally called me. Then, she agreed to email me a check, but she completely misspelled my name (odd considering it's in my email and my file) so my bank wouldn't accept it. When I requested a check with the proper spelling of my name, she LOST it. She told me I was a horrible patient, worst she ever had, and she never wanted to see me again. It is illegal for a healthcare provider to withhold any over payment of your balance. Yet, Debra had the unmitigated gall to talk to me as if I was an ingrate for requesting what was rightfully mine. I'm not a greedy person, and I always treat my elders with respect, so I was a bit disgusted by her outburst. She was trying to shame me into letting it go, but all I felt was embarrassed for her. At that point, I let her know that I would file a lawsuit in small claims court if she didn't give me a refund. Sure enough, I got my check a week later. read more

Completely unprofessional and unethical, rude and in violation of HIPPA regulations. No waiting area - must stand in the hallway. Arrived late and completely unprepared while we waited in hallway. Bashed other medical professionals that she had no knowledge of, and sat there googling information that we could have looked up ourselves. Other staff in the building warned us that she was loud and that they have complained because they can hear her client's information with her yelling through the walls. There is no privacy and she shares the office with a psychiatrist and nurse practitioner so anyone can walk in at any time and she said there is nothing she can do about it. Continually complimented herself and her credentials and told us others have no idea what they are doing and they are begging her to return to practice in New Jersey. Debra is the worst! Very unprofessional! My appointment began with me asking how can loose 15 pounds and stop the yo-yo dieting. Her recommendation was state of the art surgery, the sleeve to be exact. I told her I didn't come here for surgery and surgery isn't one of my options. I don't need surgery. I came here hoping to get a food/nutritional plan to follow. She then checked my BMI and said you're not eligible anyway. The short time there she interrupted, cut me off, berated me and was just down right quite rude. Needless to say I told her I am terminating the appointment as we aren't getting off to a great start. She then said what is wrong with you and at that point I asked her what the hell is wrong with her and got up to leave. She then ripped up my paperwork, at that point I knew she wasn't someone I wanted to see so I left her office. What a horrible experience with a physician! read more

I had Bariatric surgery 2 months ago and was looking for some help with my nutrition so I made an appointment for myself and my son. The day of my appointment I entered her office and sat on a very low couch which was not comfortable for me so she took out a chair that she said she bought for heavy people. Then went on to tell me how hard it was to find one like that. (Not very professional in my opinion) She proceeded to ask me my history and when I told her about my surgery that me and my surgeon sat down and talked extensively about and both came to the agreement which surgery I would get, Debra just was irate because I got a surgery she didn't feel was the right one. She went on and on about it and twice I tried to curtail her back to the present saying that I already had my surgery so it's a mute point, can we get back to the subject at hand. Then she would ask me questions and when I would begin to talk she cut me off and never let me finish. I had to make a food log before my appointment and when she started to go over that she began to berate me for what I ate, how much I ate. I was there for that reason, I needed guidance and she made me feel like I was failing even though I am sticking to my calories. Everything she was saying was going against what my doctor told me. I happen to have eaten a pork chop the day before and it was about 6 oz with the bone and she just was like "Oh my god, I can't believe you ate a whole pork chop and 3/4 cup of vegetables"! I have been feeling really good about myself until I entered her office. I ended the appointment right there, I told her I was done and she said "Good! Leave, goodbye!" I was not going to subject myself or my son to her anymore. I would think twice about making an appointment with this person. Do yourself a favor and find someone else. read more
