It takes time for filler to set, but after a few weeks I noticed how much harder the filler in my marionette lines were compared to my cheeks. After reflecting on the procedure, I realized that she figured it out part way through and tried to hide it. She would not fill any more of my marionette lines and even went so far as to say that they would save the used syringe for a later treatment. This nurse was negligent.

EDIT 12/13/17: I've come back here several times since writing this post, and I've had great…read morecustomer service and have been super satisfied with my end results. Wasn't rushed and had some more space (but also, not super busy at these times). This is my new regular spot! Came here with a friend for the first time for a mani/pedi this weekend and was greeted by friendly staff. The salon looks really clean and they have a good assortment of nail polish--not an overwhelming amount, which can be annoying--the right amount and they all looked to be in good condition. I hate when salons have crusty dried out polish choices or multiples of the same color, like that's giving you a "broad selection". At first, it felt like we were being rushed. Granted, we did show up right at the appointment time, but I booked online and don't recall seeing anything informing us we should be there earlier (although I usually like to be). The pedicure station was a little cramped. There wasn't anywhere to put my jacket or purse so I kept them with me--my bag on the floor and kept my jacket on. Wasn't the worst. My nail technician was really nice and explained everything she was doing and what all the tools and products were to be used for. I really liked that attention to detail! I've had lots of mani/pedis, so I know what most of the tools and products are used for, but it's refreshing to see that they're sterile, hygienic, and being used correctly. It wasn't annoying or rehearsed either, the way she told me. Also, she gave just the right amount of pressure for the leg massage and scrub! A+ for that! Mani station had more elbow room, which was nice. I did notice that there was no fan by my feet to dry my pedicure while my hands were done, but they air dried just fine. My nail technician took the same approach as with the pedi in explaining everything. I got a gel mani which I noticed took a bit longer here than it usually does at other places I've gone to. Although it took longer (she did like 4 coats), she really paid attention to detail and my preferences and made sure everything was perfect. It did fill up pretty quickly in there, so when my friend finished before me, they had her move to the waiting area. Understandable, can't really be mad about that. Something I really enjoyed was that I was given the option to keep my nail buffer, file and toe spacers! That was a nice treat! Might as well get a few more uses out of those instead of just toss them. Price was good! Definitely cheaper than Boston or some other suburban places I've been too. Plus my nails came out great! I will definitely come back here in the future! I was initially skeptical because of some of the reviews on here, but I get the impression their clientele can be a bit high maintenance and easily dissatisfied. I took off one star because of the feeling rushed in the beginning and having nowhere to put my belongings due to the tight space, but those aren't deal breakers for me. I'll prepare better for next time!

I exclusively go to MiniLuxe for manicures, so this experience was especially disappointing. I made…read morea last minute, same day appointment for a gel manicure, and looking back, I wish I hadn't. Unfortunately, I was at the salon for nearly two hours. In my opinion, the first nail technician seemed inexperienced, and the entire service felt disorganized. During the appointment, I was also told the color I chose wouldn't "look" good on me, which I found unnecessary and unprofessional. When the manicure was finished, the polish was splotchy and uneven. I was given the option of either adding a third coat of the original color or removing the gel and starting over with a different color. Since I wasn't happy with how the manicure looked, I chose to have it removed and redone with a different color. I was still charged in full and then asked if I wanted to add a tip. That was a disappointing way to end the service. I've had many positive experiences at MiniLuxe, which is why this visit stood out so much. Going forward, I'll be very selective about who I book with. This was, unfortunately, the worst manicure experience I've had there.

But I had heard great things about Winchester Electrology & Laser and I was finally committed to the idea of getting rid of my unwanted eyebrow hair forever. (And because you can't use laser that close to your eyes...electrolysis seemed like the only logical alternative. I was so ready to retire from my lifetime of plucking & preening!) Paula is wonderful - not only is she knowledgeable but she's kind, patient & always fun to talk to. On my first visit, she took the time to explain the whole process to me & what kind of timeline we were probably looking at. She could sense I was a little nervous when I asked her how much it would hurt. So she sweetly offered to do a quick trial session just so I could see if I thought it was something I could handle. (I could!) It's definitely a commitment but one that is so worthwhile. To be freed from my tweezers has been blissful. Now I have beautifully shaped eyebrows that I never have to worry about. I'm at the point in the process where I only go in for an occasional touch up...but eventually even that won't be necessary. Very happy!
