EDIT 12/13/17: I've come back here several times since writing this post, and I've had great customer service and have been super satisfied with my end results. Wasn't rushed and had some more space (but also, not super busy at these times). This is my new regular spot! Came here with a friend for the first time for a mani/pedi this weekend and was greeted by friendly staff. The salon looks really clean and they have a good assortment of nail polish--not an overwhelming amount, which can be annoying--the right amount and they all looked to be in good condition. I hate when salons have crusty dried out polish choices or multiples of the same color, like that's giving you a "broad selection". At first, it felt like we were being rushed. Granted, we did show up right at the appointment time, but I booked online and don't recall seeing anything informing us we should be there earlier (although I usually like to be). The pedicure station was a little cramped. There wasn't anywhere to put my jacket or purse so I kept them with me--my bag on the floor and kept my jacket on. Wasn't the worst. My nail technician was really nice and explained everything she was doing and what all the tools and products were to be used for. I really liked that attention to detail! I've had lots of mani/pedis, so I know what most of the tools and products are used for, but it's refreshing to see that they're sterile, hygienic, and being used correctly. It wasn't annoying or rehearsed either, the way she told me. Also, she gave just the right amount of pressure for the leg massage and scrub! A+ for that! Mani station had more elbow room, which was nice. I did notice that there was no fan by my feet to dry my pedicure while my hands were done, but they air dried just fine. My nail technician took the same approach as with the pedi in explaining everything. I got a gel mani which I noticed took a bit longer here than it usually does at other places I've gone to. Although it took longer (she did like 4 coats), she really paid attention to detail and my preferences and made sure everything was perfect. It did fill up pretty quickly in there, so when my friend finished before me, they had her move to the waiting area. Understandable, can't really be mad about that. Something I really enjoyed was that I was given the option to keep my nail buffer, file and toe spacers! That was a nice treat! Might as well get a few more uses out of those instead of just toss them. Price was good! Definitely cheaper than Boston or some other suburban places I've been too. Plus my nails came out great! I will definitely come back here in the future! I was initially skeptical because of some of the reviews on here, but I get the impression their clientele can be a bit high maintenance and easily dissatisfied. I took off one star because of the feeling rushed in the beginning and having nowhere to put my belongings due to the tight space, but those aren't deal breakers for me. I was very happy with my Performance Polish (Dazzle Dry) manicure by Morandy. She did a great job and was very nice and fun to talk to. The only "complaint" I have is that they should put a cushion or something on the chairs. Manis last about an hour and sitting on a hard, not very ergonomic, chair is uncomfortable towards the end. Not impressed at all. A you can't judge a book by its cover type of place. It appears nice, clean, polished but the work itself - not great. I noticed that the polish was sticky and bubbling up. Had I not mentioned it, they would have just went on with the day. The polish was old. I had to mention it a few times for them to try a new bottle. We were a group of three. All three of us noticed that they don't do much with the cuticles or the cleaning of the nails. They also asked us to schedule an appointment so we could all be seated together. Instead they took our child and seated her by herself. When we left the salon, we also noticed that all of our nails have a decent amount of "blank" space - looking like the nail already grew out. The gel polish seems to last. The performance polish was not great. It started coming off the second day. The person at the front desk - tall, Caucasian was "cool" but didn't seem approachable. There was another person who I believe said she spoke Spanish - she was courteous and friendly. The prices here are higher than other salons which makes sense since the place appears polished and clean but for the work they do - not worth it. Very mediocre service; I got a mani and pedi dazzle: the service was delayed, so it started later than my scheduled time, but the pedi was so poor; they do not remove any callouses and rinse your feet poorly during the process. It felt so strange and uncomfortable. The mani was better, but after 4 hours, the dazzle was starting to wear, and this never happened at other nail salons. When I asked for rounded squares, the technician did poorly rounding them. It looks very unusual now. I was confused by the price tag for such a mediocre service. The staff is friendly and quiet, but the general atmosphere is very artificially still, which is also odd. The Newbury St location was good, so I wanted to try this, but it's different. I went to MiniLuxe because I had a gift certificate for my birthday. I wanted gel extensions and a basic no frills pedicure. The technician was very nice but I don't think that she had much experience doing gel extensions. I had so much glue in big chunks under my nails and she couldn't remove it. Once they were polished they looked very nice but I noticed later that they were shorter on one hand and all the glue balled up under them was really annoying. I was going on vacation so there wasn't time to have anything done about the it. The pedicure was fine but as I said just basic. $175.00 was ridiculously expensive for what I received. When the nails were removed my nails were badly damaged from all of the glue that had to be soaked and scraped off. Needless to say I won't recommend this salon and I certainly won't be back. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place; my overall experience was lackluster, then my mani chipped less than 10 hours after! My cuticles weren't cut/shaped, and my pedi was just sloppy (plus she didn't really massage my feet). For an $80 mani/pedi I expect better. Won't be back. read more

Have had 3 gel manicures and a pedicure. Totally overpriced for service. Had a gel nail chip 4 days after but couldn't get there until the following week. They would not repair ONE nail because they said I didn't let them know right away. But said they could book me for a "gel refresh". I will never go there again. I also bought a 75 gift cards for client gifts I am trying to return. I don't want to have clients experience this customer service / quality. read more

Won't go back. Girl I used to see for eyebrows moved. Saw Harpreet today. Asked for tinted eyebrows and clean up. They are hardly tinted I have pretty blonde eyebrows and they are usually tinted then waxed today the lady used scissors and then waxed followed by tint. My nice full brows now looks thin like the early 2000's. As she was doing my eyebrows it sounds like I was getting a haircut. She waxed way too much off the inner brow and now I look like the rock with one eyebrow raised. I know that eyebrows are supposed to be sisters not twins but mine don't even look related anymore. read more

Booked a gel mani, had dip on my nails. They refused to take off the dip and canceled my appointment. Wanted me to pay 50% of my service still... you should clarify when booking that you don't remove dip and shouldn't penalize customers for services you don't offer. I had a few errands to do in the area and was ecstatic when I walked in at 2:15 on a whim and was able to book a same-day mani appointment for an hour later - one more thing off the list. They took me on time and everyone was friendly, and the place was clean. Two stars for cleanliness, friendliness, & convenience. That is where the stars end for me. My manicurist filed my nails unevenly and when I asked her to correct it did not do the best job. My cuticles do not look good either. The polish on my nails was applied very unevenly - she messed up on my thumb and just kept applying coats, but didn't apply any other polish to my other fingers to match the color. I had to ask again for her to add additional coats to my other fingers as well so I didn't look ridiculous. On top of that, my nails chipped the very next day. I've had this manicure for less than a week (AND I got Dazzle Dry so they lasted longer) and my nails look horrendous. To say I am hugely disappointed would be an understatement. read more

This was a bad gel manicure. Large areas of my nail are not painted on the side and upper corners. The nail tech started cutting my nails extremely short and I told her to stop. Regardless of the fact that she stopped when asked, I am shocked by the cutting technique. This was a very disappointing experience. Called for an appointment today. Can't talk to anyone, they text you. I was offered a 2pm slot. I texted twice to confirm 2pm. I showed up to be told they didn't book me and they couldn't see me. I showed the woman the texts. She rolled her eyes at me and said well she is too busy to confirm my appointment so she didn't book it. I said why? How did you not have the time to book it? I'm really sad about having to rate this place so low. I've been in MiniLuxe in its glorious days when each master was very knowledgeable. I did gel manicure and the polish started coming off the same night. In 3 days I didn't have a single good-looking nail so had to take off my gel. The mani overall was very quick, no attention to cuticule or shape. At the same time I had very pleasant pedicure experience at Lexington location. Please please please train your masters. That's a shame that one can get completely different experience for already overpriced price read more

8/20 I have to say, customer service is 5 stars here. I probably should've just called or even said something right after I got my pedicure. Refunded all money so that was really nice of them. I only recommend that you really evaluate the staff. It's clear pedicures are not the person that did my nails strength. I will give it another try just based on the customer service. Went to MiniLuxe for a performance mani (lasts about a week and comes off will regular remover.) I'm perfectly fine with paying $40 if it actually lasts a week, but 48 hours is a compete joke! I emailed 2 days after the manicure to express my disappointment and even sent a photo and received no response. I attempted to email 3 more times before finally calling and leaving a voicemail. They texted me and I sent along screenshots of my emails which they claimed to never receive. I used the exact same email address that I corresponded with someone for booking the appointment. Via text they rebooked me an appt to fix the issues. The time they booked did not work for me and I was ghosted yet again. HORRIBLE customer service and total rip-off. My favorite manicurist was not working today, so I tried someone new. I was worried because I get Dazzle Dry and it's all about how you apply it - Khanh at MiniLux is a pro at it and my manicures have lasted 3+ weeks. I was pleasantly surprised by the tech key paired me with - Tien. She was very kind and very meticulous. She's very skilled at painting, nail shaping and cuticle cutting. Her attention to detail is amazing. I have no doubt this manicure will last a long time! I also had my eyebrows shaped and dyed on this visit - they did an amazing job with that too. The shape and color is flawless. I'm not sure why this place gets low reviews. I've had so many terrible experiences at other salons, but my experience at MiniLuxe is always fab. read more

Just had a gel manicure and it was overall a bad experience. While the technician was kind, she was very slow (it took an hour and 20 minutes for a gel manicure...most places I have been to in the past can do this in 45 minutes - including removal of previous polish) and the polish is bumpy on multiple nails (see attached images). The nails are very sharp on the edges, I would even say they are rough, despite mentioning multiple times I wanted them to be rounder. This was my first time at Mini-Luxe as I was given a gift card, its also my last. I made my reservation on line for 2:30. When I arrived for my appt. they could not find it and then told me the appt was for 4:00 even though I had a text confirming my 2:30 appt. Had a gift card so visited for the first time today for a gel mani and signature pedi. It is very cute in the salon, but tight to get in and out of the stations. I was very pleased with the service and quality. It's the price that is ludicrous. Compared to two other places I frequent nearby, it is $30+ more expensive not considering tip. I know they advertise clean ingredients and the like, it all feels very corporate and unnecessarily marked up (base pedicure is $50). I'll stick with the local place that charges much less since I can't tell the difference in the result. If I had unlimited funds, I'd be happy to return. read more

every time i go i leave unhappy. the manicure i got yesterday was rushed, poorly done & i ended up taking it off the moment i got home. never asked if i liked the color, the attitude of the nail tech was rude and negative & it's an extremely overpriced & messy salon. i will not be returning. i also have many people in my life that have said the same about the place. This is my first review on this site, and i'm only writing because I actually took the time to read the others. I was in Friday for a Mani/Pedi, using a gift certificate I got from my fiance' for my birthday. Never having a free day off from work, I was REALLY looking forward to a day off and a little bit of pampering. I booked online, really simple, and was able to read about everything I was interested in. I booked a warm oil manicure, lalicious peppermint pedi, with a warm oil upgrade. I only booked the upgrade because I wanted a bit of a longer foot rub.... more on that later. My appointment was at 11:30, and I was right on time, if not a few minutes early. Parking SUCKS, FYI. Maybe because it's almost christmas, but whatever. I walked in and was instantly ignored. There was a ton of staff and I kinda just stood there like a deer in headlights, not knowing what to do. A minute or so later, someone asked if they could help me, I gave my name and was told to pick a color. That part was confusing, or maybe I'm just dumb. I didn't catch on easily to the - one side you try, the other you buy - mehhh. Picked my color and was brought over to my little area, and she got started. About 5 minutes in she remembered it was a warm oil mani so she got up to grab the candle. Manicure was fine, hand massage was lacking, I'm on day 3 and have a chip on my thumb. Womp Womp. Mind you in the middle of my manicure she tried selling me cuticle oil, which since I have zero balls face to face, agreed too. Praying a different girl would be @ the desk when I left. There was, thankfully, and I didn't even mention it to the desk girl. Yay! No overpriced cuticle oil for me! Fast forward to the pedicure. I was sat on the end, next to a bunch of catty, chatty women. Pedicure was typical, the peppermint sugar scrub was nice. This is where I became confused. All the women next to me got the same pedicure, the peppermint scrub followed by a leg massage with the peppermint lotion. I got the pedicure, the scrub.... no lotion, basically -1 massage. She went right into the warm oil, with the massage. I figured, okay, maybe i'll just get an extra long leg/foot massage.... Nope. Not even close. If anything I feel like I got LESS of a leg massage, which was very gentle and I could barely tell the nice woman was rubbing my tree trunk legs. I want you to GET IN THERE! Rub those puppies. Make it HURT. Should I have spoken up then.... probably. Did I.... no. Why? Again, No balls. My feet still are waiting to be rubbed. So she painted my toes, sent me over to a chair right in direct sunlight so I probably got a sunburn while burning my retinas. I paid. I tipped (yes, 20%) and I left. Would I go back? Only if I had another gift certificate. Which I won't, because I kindly thanked my fiance' and said "Never again!" It wasn't an awful experience. I didn't get cut, the place was clean, and she was nice enough. But I'd rather have the news on the tv than the same tired self promotional ads every 2 minutes and stronger woman who can really give a good foot massage. This business will do fine though..... I am so surprised to see so many negative reviews! I've never had a bad experience at MiniLuxe in Lynnfield. Knowing I'll spend a little bit more than some of the other local salons is fine by me, since I've had a gel mani from MiniLuxe that's lasted nearly a month! I usually time my appointments based on email promotions I receive to tack on nice add-ons. I really like the non-massaging chairs for pedicures, online booking (always making sure I book ahead of time since they get so busy), unbelievable levels of cleanliness, and friendliness of the staff. Yes, the atmosphere is social, but it's never loud to the point of detracting from my services. I make an event of it and stop at Starbucks for coffee ahead of time then head over to a few other stores for some shopping and picking up goodies at Whole Foods for dinner. If your primary concern is cleanliness when getting a mani-pedi. this the the go-to place. Yep they are more pricey than the very average nail shops, but it's worth it. I have been here about 6 times in the last 8 months and I have never been disappointed. During the service the service the nail techs are very pleasant and accommodating and my nails themselves look great. On a couple of occasions I had opted for the gel nails and unlike other places they did not grind my natural nail beds down to an unhealthy level. So it's my nail place .... to get there I must pass a half a dozen other nail places, but I don't mind at all. read more

I had been holding off on writing this review because I didn't want Ali to be overbooked, but I seriously can't hold my secret in any longer. I would follow Ali to the ends of the earth and back. She used to work at European Wax in Saugus and when she told me she was going to MiniLuxe I followed her. Sorry I'm not sorry, EWC. Since my first visit to MiniLuxe my experience has been consistently fabulous, whether for a bikini wax or eyebrow wax. I don't get nearly as many ingrowns as before, nor does my skin freak out like it used to post-European-Wax experience. Ali is amazing - she listens to what YOU want, will hand you a mirror multiple times during your eyebrow waxing to make sure that you're getting exactly what you want, and is one of the sweetest, most genuinely nice people I've ever met. I like my brows fuller, and Ali makes sure they look exactly the way I want them to. No mismatching, uneven, constantly-surprised, sperm-looking eyebrows. If I was seven inches taller and ten pounds lighter, my brows would be fierce enough for runway shows. MiniLuxe Lynnfield is very clean and very bright. I've never had a bad experience with any of the girls at the front desk, and the concierge service (when you call the specific location, it redirects you) has never kept me waiting for more than 3 minutes. Everyone is pleasant and polite, even when I'm canceling/rescheduling on the day of my appointment (sorry, everyone involved...) or telling them I'm stuck in traffic and will be 20 minutes late. THE. WORST. MANICURE. EVER. I've had approximately 150+ manicures over the course of my lifetime, and none of them fall below the harrowing experience I encountered at MiniLuxe in Lynnfield. The technician I was paired with began filing my nails as if she had never even touched a nail file before. She was completely inadequate and made my nails half round half square and all of them were completely different lengths. She poured cuticle cream on my hands - what?! And then painfully began to twist my arms and hands several times to the point where I was actually in physical pain and when I told her I was just trying to relax and lay my arms normally she said I needed to twist them just so she could "file them right." When I asked her how many years she had been doing nails for, she got extremely aggressive and asked if I wanted someone else. It was a simple question that I politely asked. I've never been treated so poorly in my life at a nail salon. For the price, you should feel relaxed, happy and spoiled - instead, I felt so uncomfortable I almost had a panic attack. Do not go there. There are million other lower priced nail salons with much more professional and well trained technicians. I could not urge customers more to go elsewhere. read more

Ladies, be careful with their eyebrow tinting service. The esthetician did not offer me a patch test, even after I told her it was my first time doing it. They promote their product as safe and vegetable-based, but I had a terrible allergic reaction, including redness, itching, blisters, and swelling all around my eyebrows and eyes. Awful experience!
