My Camry wasn't heating the car interior the past week, so I made an early morning appointment this week to have it looked at. I went to Pure on the recommendation of three childhood friends who still live here. They ALL said to go to Pure. I grew up in Decatur and left for grad school many years ago. I recently returned after living in four states during my career. I have always had three criteria when I make a move to a new location, and they have served me well. Find: 1. A Doctor you can relate to and trust. 2. Someone who gives a great haircut. 3. An auto mechanic you can trust and who does great work. I've found #3 in Decatur Pure Station. After my early check-in, I sat in the waiting area for about two hours, watching and listening to the manager interacting with customers. My observations? Friendly, matter-of-fact, clear. Andy explained everything going on with his client's cars. He made recommendations, and more importantly, noted what didn't need to be done. He gave accurate representations about when services would be completed. For my car, he got the part quickly and told me they had looked over the whole car and only found one repair that needed to be made (besides my originating situation). He was accurate in his honesty, because I already knew I was needing a new rear brake job in the next month. While my car was being repaired, I walked around downtown Decatur. I reacquainting myself with some old, and mostly new, businesses and restaurants. I arrived back at the repair shop in the mid-afternoon, just after they finished repairing the car. I needed an oil change for my Mini Cooper S. I only knew this because my car kept telling me so. Stopped by Pure and set an appointment. Dropped the Mini off and the work was done within the time frame they estimated. Over all, A+. Polite, pleasant, responsive, friendly, convenient. Also, there are worse ways to kill time than walking around Decatur, grabbing a coffee and croissant at the Reading Room, and waiting til the phone rings. read more

Wow. I'm so glad I found this place. I don't always trust Yelp reviews but since I was close by - I took my 2016 mini . I asked one of the servicemen if they could teach me how to check my coolant and engine. Without making me feel dumb, he graciously helped me open the hood and showed me the coolant cap. It was completely empty. He filled it up for me and told me to "have a nice day". I'm definitely using this place for my future oil changes and car maintenance. The a/c in my Subaru Impreza was out, so I took it to the guys who always service my car and do an excellent job at Pure Service Station in Decatur. Andy did a thorough run-through of all the typical problems--freon, compressor, etc--and yet the air still doesn't work. He gave me a detailed explanation in writing of what he'd tried, followed by two suggestions for Subaru-specific repair places which have advanced equipment and experience, and HE DID NOT CHARGE ME A DIME, because he was unable to fix the problem! This kind of ethical, careful, and trustworthy service is why I love PURE. Don't go anywhere else! read more

I've always had really good service at Pure, mostly for oil changes and other small repairs (under $500). Their operation is pretty straightforward and traditional- call to make an appointment and get a quote- I never feel like I'm getting tricked or upsold on anything, like I have been at other service operations. All my service appointments have been really quick- I've never had to wait long because I always make an appointment...probably average wait time of 60 minutes. Pure is in a cool old gas station, located a block from Decatur Square which is a great advantage because I can walk around, grab food, etc while waiting for my car to be done. read more

5+ stars! Easily made an appt over the phone to bring my car in for an oil change, no problem. So I planned my day around bringing my car in at 3pm. I finished all my errands early and figured I'd go ahead and swing by since I was nearby. Got there at 2:40pm and they accommodated me without hesitation. He told me 45 mins max so I ended up staying to wait. The man at the front kept me updated and told me that they were just about done...only took them 20 minutes!! Super quick and painless. I really love that this is my only gas option in Decatur. Every time I pull in the guys are so friendly and have a smile ready and are quick to come out. For a full service station, I've never seen them more than .10c/gal more expensive than the QT out on Larwenceville where we usually gas up on the weekends. Since I bought my 2016 Scion FR-S, I've been going to different shops for oil changes and car detailing, all the while, never feeling quite "good with" or comfortable in my decision. I have a bad track record with taking care of cars, and after blowing a head gasket in my 2006 Honda Civic in December 2016 (RIP), I swore to myself that I would be significantly better with my car's maintenance. I came here on a friend's recommendation, and for the first time, I didn't feel like I was being cheated, that I was stupid, or that my time was being wasted or compromised. Kudos to the guys at Pure Station on East Ponce (across from Decatur Methodist). They could have charged me to fix my Kia but called the dealer were able to talk the dealer into fixing it under the just expired warranty. Pure essentially negotiated their way out of several hundred dollars (and saved me several hundred!!). These are the most honest guys on the planet... please support them. read more

I got great service, especially after going to NTB on DEKALB Ind Way to get a tire plugged until after pay day when I could afford a new tire. I've been a customer at NTB on Dekalb Ind Way in Decatur location for over 20 years. Therefore, I've been a customer through personnel changes, policy changes and name changes. I had a flat tire on the way home (driving less than a hundred yards on a deflating tire until i could safely pull over) Monday morning, donut was put on and I was anticipating getting it plugged or patched until after pay day when I had the money to buy one. I've noticed in the last few years, tire stores and dealers have seemingly come up with excuses reflecting "safety issues" and refusing to fix tires, fabricating more and more reasons to not plug/patch a tire a customer brings in. As soon as I let the customer service advisor at NTB know I needed a temporary fix on my tire, his demeanor changed and he advised they no longer do plugs, and if the side wall of the tire "seemed to THEM" to be compromised, they would not fix it for "safety reasons". The CSA pointed out that my tire had the characteristic "ring" around the wall of the tire indicating I had driven on tire that was flat or deflated. Well, glory be, if you drive on the tire even for the shortest amount of time, a tire is going to have that "ring". I don't know how many tires I've had plugged over the last 30 years with that ring, and no one refused to plug/or patch my tire. I drove the car around to the rear so the technician could asses it, and sure enough, he said the side wall was worn and " couldn't be patched". I call BS on that. This is a ruse these tire stores have fabricated and implemented as "safety policies" where they can refuse to fix a tire when a customer hasn't the funds immediately to BUY a tire so their employees won't be utilized spending time on fixing a tire for $20, rather than charge a customer $125 for buying a tire. I checked around a found full service gas stations in the area that could do what NTB refused to do. I found a great full service gas station at Pure in Decatur on E.Ponce De Leon, right around the corner from NTB and they said it was no problem to fix and didn't give this bologna that the side wall was compromised and my car would be a safety hazard to drive if they plugged it. None of that crap. Not only am I NEVER going to NTB again, but I'm buying my tire that I need at Pure, and I'm giving all of my non warranty service to them as well. F NTB and their "safety issues" using as a ruse to get you to buy a tire. The staff is great here at Pure, friendly, and they don't try to BS the customer with phony policy dictates that force the customer to purchase some other service instead of what you asked for. I even got an oil change as well where they filled my windshield wiper fluid up without even telling them, cleared my faulty coolant sensor alert and it was ready in less than 30 mins after showing up late in the day. I needed help in a hurry. My Honda Element's window went down and would not come up. With storms from a Gulf Coast Hurricane coming through Atlanta and living intown with street parking getting this fixed in a hurry was must. I rolled in at Pure at 7AM. I was promptly greeted at the car and they let me know the technician would be in and give me a call by 8:30 and they should have it fixed by 1. They called promptly when promised, and quoted me a price that was just slightly less then online quotes from dealers. The actual price was about $40 under what they quoted me. Everything ran on time and the location was perfect. They have excellent customer service. If you do need to wait it is right in downtown Decatur. read more

I highly recommend the Pure service station. I brought my car in for some much-needed maintenance. One of the managers, Joel, and the Honda service guy, Leo, were very pleasant to deal with. Joel told me that nearly all of them worked at dealerships, so you get the dealership-quality service at a much better price. My car now runs like new. They even went above and beyond, fixing a cloudy headlight at no extra charge. These guys are awesome! I've been taking my 2008 Scion TC to them for a couple of years. Normal oil changes, tires, etc. Then my car died while I was at Whole Foods, on a Friday evening. City gal, blah, I know. AAA (shout out to their awesome guys!) said that my alternator was out. They dropped my car off at Pure. Pure wasn't sure if they'd get to it since Saturdays are tight. They called me early Saturday morning to let me know it WAS my alternator and that they would be able to replace it that day! I've been recommending this place for years, but now they definitely hold a special place for me. They came through and got my car fixed, without an appointment, on the weekend! I went here recently for an oil change for my Prius based on reviews on Yelp. I'm so glad I did! They were friendly, quick, efficient, and professional. They didn't try to sell me on filters or oil upgrades I don't need. They took time to explain some things about my car to me. They offered to rotate my tires, which I needed because they hadn't been aligned or rotated since I got them three and a half years ago. For a synthetic blend oil change and a rotate and balance it was only $101, which is far less than what I've paid in the past. I'll definitely be going here for future oil changes as long as I'm in Atlanta! read more

This service station is amazing. The station itself is clean and welcoming, the staff is warm and attentive, and perhaps best of all, they know what they're doing and charge a fair price. I bring my 2002 Infiniti G-20 here and they keep it running and in tip top shape. Today, I took the car in with a slow tire leak and they patched it up in 10 minutes and had me on my way. I came in with a dead battery. It took them less than five minutes to confirm it was dead and replace it, but they charged $42.50 plus tax as "battery replace labor," (done free of charge elsewhere, e.g., Auto Zone) in addition to the $105 cost of the battery, which is also cheaper elsewhere. I was misled by all the five stars to think that Pure Decatur would be more trustworthy and as reasonable as competitors. They don't stay too busy, so the service was prompt and smiley, hence two stars, not one. If money's not an issue for you, then the place is fine. They have a cute dog in the waiting area. read more

I realized I had a flat as I pulled up to my job 30 minutes before I had to clock in and didn't know what I could do. My boss recommended I call the pure station, so I got on the phone and gave them a ring. I must admit I was skeptical given past experiences with auto shops but from the beginning of the phone call till the problem was fixed I was treated wonderfully. Everyone was nothing but nice and happy to help which, considering I was flustered due to my lack of time and availability, was extremely helpful. They got me hooked up with a new tire and I was able to have it all taken care of in a timely manner while I worked. I give this business a solid 5 stars and would highly recommend it. I took our truck to get an A/C hose replaced and to recharge the system. I got quotes around town and for the parts and labor, Pure had the best price. They were able to get me in first thing in the morning. I was hoping to get the work done quicker, but they told me that the wrong part was delivered, so there was going to be a delayed. They were still able to get the work done when the part came in late in the day, so I was very happy to still have the work completed the same day. My wife is now extremely happy to have cold air in this hot GA weather. read more
