I went to Decibels because I thought I needed to upgrade the sound system in my car. I thought one of my speakers had blown and since I drive a lot, figured I would upgrade the system. The owner was on an installation job and came back to the store specifically to take care of me. When he was done, he tweaked my system and gave me some tips about how to isolate my vibration. Called them and asked about hooking up a tv in bedroom of my 5th wheel. I told them that the tv in front was directv and worked fine. The owner gave me an estimate and would call me when he got the parts. The installer arrived yesterday and told me what he was going to do. He was neat, professional, and had me hooked up in no time. I was expecting him to tack up wires connecting the front tv to the back. No wires, no mess. Works just as I had hoped. The bill was way less than the owner had given because it was done so quickly. I've used Decibels computer repair services twice, and have been extremely satisfied each time with the results, the price, and the quick turnaround. The first time, I needed a power switch repair on an older laptop and they managed to repair it even though parts were no longer available for that model. The second time, I brought them a practically new Acer laptop that had issues from the day I purchased it and they were able to trace the problem and repair it inexpensively. The owner, Frank, was unaccommodating. He hired sub-standard help and when I wanted to watch my installation in the back garage, he refused. He said I had to stay in the waiting area. Consequently, when I finally got my vehicle back with the installed system, I left. Two weeks later, one of my rear speakers fell out onto the floor. I took it back to Frank (35 miles drive one way) and he said his "help" did not install it the way it should have been installed. Blamed it on him which was an inadequate response in my opinion. The owner never once apologized for having to reinstall both rear speakers after the problem. Half a day, and 70 miles was on me. I will never return to this establishment. read more

This guy literally burnt my stereo and still had to pay him $425. He was going to charge me over $500 until I explained how dissatisfied I was. It was a flat screen stereo with GPS which ended up with wires that were actually black and melted. He claims to know what he is doing but beware he will ruin your equipment and blame the company that made the stereo. Very unprofessional and his name is Frank. Do not waste your money or time. DO NOT TRUST HIM! He is garbage....... read more

I needed my home stereo speaker enclosures repaired. I am handy but the repair was way out my league. I was almost going to chuck the speakers (which are as big as dorm fridges) and buy new ones but thought I'd take a chance that Decibels could fix them. They did. Needed a new am/fm cd for my jeep wrangler. Stopped in to see what they had and when they could install. Bought a Pioneer am/fm cd and they installed same day in about an hour. Could have probably gotten the radio cheaper somewhere else but the install was reasonable, professional, and I'm happy. They also have a great waiting room area. read more

I took a car there to see what was wrong with the radio. Frank the owner was supposed to check the radio and let me know if it could be fixed. If not, I would pick out another radio. He did not call back all day. At the end of the day, I finally reached him and he said that the radio was bad. I went to his shop to select a radio and found he had already installed one - that I absolutely would not have picked. Actually, he made a mistake because I would have purchased a high end radio. Instead I got one I hate and paid too much. It upsets me every time I turn it on. Frank was also supposed to put a power antenna on one of my cars. He made three appointment over three weeks. Every time he claimed that the antenna had not arrived. He never called me once. After going there for the first appointment to find the shop closed, I learned to always call in advance. I now go to Prescott to have work done. read more

Went to Decibels to purchase two speakers and have them installed in a 2004 Jeep Liberty. Took along specific mounting instructions for the stock Infinity amps which I downloaded from the internet. That's the first time I got the "I've been doing this for 25 years" spiel. Should have been a warning to me. Anyway, ordered the speakers and made an appointment for installation. I removed both front door panels prior to taking the car in. He seemed upset that I would do such a thing. After installation, took the car home and removed a speaker to verify proper installation of amps. Naturally they were installed wrong. When the windows were lowered electrically the bottom of the window hit on both L and R amps. Took the car back later that afternoon for reinstallation. That's the second time I got the "25 years" experience speech. He told me that is why they do not like people to remove the door panels, so they can check the windows. Asked him if this was the first Jeep Liberty he had ever done in 25 years, since the operation of the windows is controlled by switches in the center console, not on the door panel. On second installation (which only took 30 minutes for both doors) amps were out of the way of the bottom edge of the windows good enough, but the 3" long screws he used went right into the middle of the wire harness for the amps. If I had not removed the door panels myself and trusted his "25 years of experience" I would have ended up with broken window glass or a possible short in the wiring harness. After the second installation by Decibels, I decided that their "25 years of experience" does not indicate their level of attention to detail or quality. Installed the amps myself exactly like the instructions I showed him in the first place and everything is fine now. I feel like I got ripped off for the price of the speakers (I'm sure he took a 30%-%40% markup) and the $65.00 installation charge. Oh, he did give me a $10.00 discount for the installation since I had removed the door panels. Would I recommend them to a friend? Hell NO. read more
