I made an appointment thru Apple to get my iphone battery replaced. When I got there they seemed to have no record of the appointment and had me fill out paperwork. They didn't have the battery in stock so they ordered a new one. They never called to tell me my part was ready. I called a week later and made an appointment to get it installed. Had to fill out the same paperwork again. Two hours later they told me they had ordered the wrong part. I told them I would get it done elsewhere. Sorry to leave a bad review but the guy expressed no regret and didn't care that I was taking my business elsewhere. They seem very disorganized. read more

This review is a little late but I visited the MacClinic 4 weeks ago to as my MacBook Pro was having a keyboard issue. They helped me by ordering a new replacement part and installing the replacement part, along with cleaning up my computer a bit. I feel like I have a brand new computer - key board works great. I also appreciate that they were able to help out in such short notice. They seemed pretty busy with other repairs. My recommendation would be to make sure you have an appointment for service before you go and be sure to communicate any timelines you have so that they can let you know if they will be able to complete the repair in time. They also have apple products for sale (e.g. ear phones, cases, refurbished ipads/laptops) a good option if you are in the area and you don't want to drive to Flagstaff or Phoenix for support. read more

I first went to Mac Clinic (when it was owned by a top IT pro named Atoll) more in 2005. I used them for nearly 20 years, and spent over $25,000 on computers and service. Unfortunately, the new owners and operators of this business are the most incompetent computer technicians I have ever had the misfortune of using. While visiting friends in Sedona for a week, out of loyalty we brought in my wife's MacBook for disk storage management, and it came back to us with 8 years of her email deleted. They said there was nothing they could do about it. I found the emails in Google, thank God (they couldn't!) and wanted them to manually restore them into my wife's Apple Mail platform. They said they couldn't because the Operating System on her 8 year old Macbook couldn't be updated. That was wrong, too. I just updated it myself to Catalina, and now her Apple Mail is compatible again. (It was working fine when we brought the machine in to them.) So now we are back home (no longer in Sedona), and are forced to spend dozens of hours manually restoring 8 years of email to her Macbook. They said they couldn't do it. They were also responsible for causing the problem. MAC CLINIC IS INCOMPETENT. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO WORK ON YOUR MAC. read more

I cannot say how it would have gone had I not chosen to pick up my laptop the other day and go to another place for repair. I just got a bad feeling when I called 8 HOURS later and they said they hadn't even looked at it yet. I was having virus removal/clean up and the guy made it sound like it was easy and I mentioned I was working Wednesday, the following day, so I assumed we were on the same page because he never commented otherwise. Also, I was the only customer in the store so I assumed he was planning to start on it right away. I called back in the evening and a different guy answered who was a little more polite than the one in morning. He apologized and said that clean up takes several days. I just decided to go pick my laptop back up. Since that time, I looked at reviews and decided it was a good decision. I also got a 'bad' feeling when the person who checked my PC in in the morning said "it's probably not a virus" without ever looking at it. I literally had ever symptom that was that. Lastly, I was told it would be $120 but COULD be more. I heard through the grapevine that this store almost always charges more than what they quote originally. read more

I just called in and spoke to a female and asked her very clearly if my appointment made by Apple at 11:00 AM was confirmed.She proceeded to go into a dialogue about their rules and restrictions at this location and that my computer would be there for 3 to 5 days, and that no one would sit down with me and go over the problems I'm having with my computer. She refused to look me up in the system where all of my notes are clearly defined by the appointment and she also refused to confirm with me that the appointment existed. She then told me not to bring in my computer and that she didn't need my business. I will also be reporting this location to the Better Business Bureau and escalate it to Apple corporate as I know plenty of C levels that work right under Tim Cook. literally moving to Sedona today, not the best choice, I will make sure I follow up on this in Every way possible. So here is my point. Got my iPhone battery changed to my satisfaction. Good job. Technicians, again, did an excellent job. But then, at home, 5 days later, I updated the OS to 14.1 and noticed that my storage color bar was missing the red color, the applications. It was bundled in gray, the other. So I called the place just for my curiosity and wanted to ask a tech if he knew how that worked. At this moment, I am still happy, until I get blocked by a gatekeeper Lara (or Laura) who blocked me completely from talking to anybody who could help. She denied JC ( a guru tech) was there although he was, told me I signed a contract waiving everything, said talking to anyone costs $70 and can't ask the owner to call me back. She was hyperventilating and stuttering, blocking, blocking, blocking. I said it had nothing to do with a battery change, it was my curiosity about the 14.1 system workings. But she was determined I was the Lucifer going after the business with an army of my lawyers trying to get them on a battery technicality. Can I .. no, can you .. no, can we .. no. That's how it went. Feeling I was seen by her and treated as a vampire who flew in her window to give her cancer, I gave up .. and hung up. I hopped in my car and drove there. Talked to JC and we had a good laugh. But that woman, that receptionist, that's really something. She should work for the TSA. If she continues to handle clients the way she handled me, this business is toast. Now, the tech guru JC is excellent. 5 stars. read more

$90 for them to look at what I just got out earlier that week. $30 for them to up load Viper ware which is outta date and I payed them $50 for the software, what a gip. This place is a rip off. If I could give zero stars, I would. I'm not sure if I can make this review scathing enough. I went into the clinic with a failing battery on my Mac laptop. The Apple stores were closed because of Covid-19. I drove up from Prescott. The girl that helped me had a condescending attitude, like she assumed that the customer didn't understand what they were talking about. She wanted to know my laptop password AND my Apple ID and password. They should NEVER ask for your apple password. If they know what they are doing, they don't need it. I did not have a feeling of trust with her and wasn't willing to give it to her. She said she could charge me for a tutorial to turn off the "Find my Mac" function so that they could work on it. It felt a like she was trying to make a little extra money on the side. I needed my laptop fixed so I followed the girl's instructions to turn off the "find my Mac" function. Those instructions ended up getting me completely locked out of my computer. We ended up at a spot where a firmware passcode was needed to continue. I had never set a firmware passcode on my laptop and didn't have one. She flatly said "You're locked out, we can't help you". That was it. She made me feel like it was my fault. I was without my laptop for 2 months. Apple phone support couldn't help, taking it into another Apple repair shop couldn't unlock it. Finally 2 months later the Apple Stores opened up and I was able to take it into the Genius Bar. They were able to unlock it and replace the battery. A week later I had my laptop back, unlocked and with a new battery. Don't take anything into this shop. It is far better to take your machine back to the dealer even if it is a drive for you. I wouldn't trust them with your Apple ID, passwords, personal or banking information. At least with this girl. read more

Warning: I don't advise visiting this computer repair shop, take your computer to an Apple Store Genius Bar for diagnosis! You will have to get past Laura, the receptionist, who believes she is an apple repair expert - don't ask her anything. She knows NOTHING and will give you misinformation information. She also gave me misinformation on the status of my repair. I literally had to wait for JC, a decent repair guy, to return from the "field" and ask him information about my computer. I was able to get my computer back - the cost was over $100 for diagnostic testing and nothing was done to fix my issue. The experience was a waste of time and money. I brought the computer to an Apple Genius bar in Phoenix and the problem was correctly diagnosed in 5 minutes at no cost. (The estimate for repair was a reasonable price). read more

I had a MacBook Pro power cord fail in the middle of doing work -- they literally appear to be the only place in the Verde Valley that sells them. They will cheerfully sell them to you for $10 more than you would pay in the online Apple Store (with free shipping). If I didn't need the part right then, I absolutely would have bought it online (Apple Store, eBay, etc.). When I pointed out to the sales rep that they were selling Apple products for more than Apple sells them, he was unconcerned. Since they're the only option around here, I'm not surprised. Technicians upgraded my older mac Powerbook with latest upgrade without reviewing compatibilities of my laptop system and my inde programs necessary for my work. Due to limited capacities like drive & memory, my business laptop ran poorly and I could not edit photos due to Photoshop incompatibility. Techs refused to restore laptop, even though I had a restore backup. They wanted to charge me another $140. to undo what they caused. It was a senior tech at Apple that helped me -on the phone- restore my computer and all inde programs so I could work again. This debacle took 3 weeks to fix, with no help from MacClinic. They could have upgrafed my laptop to El Capitan and all my inde programs would have been functional. I called and asked politely for refund and they refused.Are they really Apple authorized? read more

So Disappointed!!! I drove 30 miles down from Flagstaff after calling & arranging to drop my 17" MacBook Pro off for repair. I explained that the audio selection was stuck on Digital Audio Out after I removed a digital audio cord & as a result, I couldn't select the Internal Speakers any longer. I also explained that I was missing a couple of screws from the bottom of the unit and that one of the screws was hanging half out, causing it to scratch any surfaces that I sat it down on. I also had a left speaker that was blown out as well... but, decided not to ask them to replace it at that time. After leaving the unit with Mac Clinic/PC Clinic, I received a phone call from one of their tech reps who inquired as to why I had left the unit with them. I thought that it was weird that they didn't know, but I reminded them of the issues & they asked if they could call me back after they looked into it further. A little while later, I received a call back from the rep who began to explain that I had a blown speaker and that maybe it was related to the issue... so, I asked them to replace it. Some time after, I received another call from the tech rep explaining that they were going to be forced to wipe the computer & reinstall the OS, which I regrettably agreed to as well. Days later, I received another call from a rep explaining that they had completed all the work, (New OS, New Speaker, Repaired Audio Out Selection, New Screws, Etc.) & that I can drive down to pick up the computer at anytime. Again I drove down to their store in Sedona & after paying over $300 & picking up my MacBook Pro, I drove back home only to find that the only thing that they did was install the very earliest of OS's with no updates. They never removed the outer casing of my computer, therefore, they never repaired the speaker or installed new screws. In fact, the screw that was half hanging out was still right where I left it. The worst part, was that I received the unit back with a broken disc drive to boot. As far as I can tell, they must of dropped the unit at some point causing the drive to become damaged, which probably happened while it was being shoved around their shop for those weeks. I ended up going to Best Buy for help. Needless to say, I cancelled the credit card payment & ended up eating two days of travel expenses, as well as a new disc drive. I'd sue, but these kids aren't worth anymore of my valuable time. All I can say is... "Shame on Mac Clinic/PC Clinic!!!" & BUYER BEWARE. What an unprofessional, costly & damaging business! read more

called to see if they could do a repair on an 27" IMac. The lady on the phone told me that they charge a $105 diagnostic fee as they would have a 'certified apple technician' diagnose the computer. I explained that the computer worked fine but the hinge at the stand/computer junction had failed which was a common problem on the 27" IMacs. She just kept on that it would have to be diagnosed by a 'certified apple technician'. So I asked if the repair was covered by apple would I be charged the $105 fee. She then fixated on checking the computer to make sure that soda was not spilled in it. (I am not sure how that would even be possible on an IMac.) I then simply asked if they would be able to do the repair and if I would be charged $105 if I brought it in. Then, I am not making this up, she continued to say that a 'certified apple technician' would have to diagnose the computer and stated again they would have to check to see if soda had been spilled in the computer. I've never had someone be so evasive when asked a direct question. I really try to spend my money with local businesses, but this experience was so frustrating that I won't be using them or recommend them to others. read more

Besides crying hysterically because I do that sometimes, I googled Apple repair and found Mac PC Clinic conveniently nearby in Sedona. They told her they had the parts and that it would be ready that afternoon.. They took her phone apart and then realized they didn't have the right parts and would have to order them and the phone would be ready Monday. Then, they order the wrong parts and it's still not repaired.. She has had to go 5 days without her phone because of their negligence.. Other than the screen being cracked, the phone worked until they took it apart.. And.. They're still charging her the full price of $195 for the repair.. She could have sent it to Phoenix and had repaired and returned to her already for $100 cheaper!!! read more

I recently installed a new battery (online $55) for my Mac Book Pro. After installing it myself, I guess I installed it incorrectly. I charged it over night and it was fully charge. Icheck the battery with TechTool Pro and it confirmed that the battery was good. However after about 5 minutes the computer shutdown. I brought the computer to Mac Clinic and told them what had happened. After their analysis, they told me that the battery was no good and that my hard drive had problems. So the cost would be $130 for a new battery, $100 for a new hard drive and Almost $200+ to transfer my files to the new hard drive. I told them to forget it and return my computer. Its working fine now (guess they installed the new battery correctly). The hard drive also checked out fine. So don't get ripped off by this place, get your Mac serviced somewhere else!!!! read more

I'll take this store over the Mac Store in Phoenix any day. They actually pay attention to you and offer something Mac never does; customer service. I have a macbook that I had spilled water on and the battery would no longer charge. I took it to the mac store and after charging me an arm and a leg, it still wasn't fixed. Then, on an unrelated manner, I took it to Mac Clinic and they had it fixed in no time. I would refer Mac Clinic to anyone who lives in Sedona. The convenience of not having to go to Phoenix alone is worth it. read more

I have a MacBook Pro that crashed I took into the Mac Clinic - the logic board failed and since I did not have a warrenty, I paid for a new replacement. Within 2 weeks, my MacBook would not connect to WiFi. I called and took it back in - testing proved the new logic board had failed again. They had this fixed at no charge and back to me in 2 days. I took my MacBook home on a Friday night and it was blazing fast all weekend. Monday morning I opened my MacBook and it showed the same signs of the logic board failure.....again! I called the Mac Clinic, dropped off my MacBook and they kept it for a couple of days testing it. Funny as it booted up fine for them..crazy. I picked it up, and took it to the office. I opened the MacBook and it froze (which did not happen while they had it) - upon restarting...it gave the blue screen crash while I was on the phone with them :) My experience the whole time during this process has been actually great with the team at Mac Clinic as everytime I called or brought in my MacBook they were right there to help me with this very rare issue with my computer and they worked hard at finding the core issue why this was happening as it clearly was not normal. So they sent my MacBook off to Apple this time with all the information, etc. they collected to help "prove" my case with Apple over this rare issue. The great news? :) Apple totally replaced my logic board, my display, and ram in my computer due to the crazy unexplainable issues - FREE!!!! Not one extra cost to me on this - Awesome! I am so appreciative of how hard the Mac Clinic worked with me on this whole thing as they were always professional, kind, and amazing to work with doing everything they could on this. In the end, our perseverance paid off greatly - and of course a good atitude about the whole thing on my part;) I am also grateful that they carry Mac products, etc. I needed a cord for my MacBook and was able to purchase it on the spot- no waiting or ordering, no shipping. The convenience far outways any tiny savings I might have found ordering it online and then having to wait for it. And I didn't have to drive 100 miles south to Phoenix just to go to a Mac Store! So glad we have them in Sedona! I really appreciate the staff and their help when I walk in their door - they are wonderful and friendly and still smile when they see me coming!
