Very sorry that I didn't check out the reviews on this site first. The salesman arrived at the appointed time and was very convincing, as were the photos of completed jobs. We were eager to get the work done and the salesman said they could start within 10 days. The quoted price was a bit high, but the proffered warranty and claims of top-of-the-line materials sounded good. Our deck needed a fair amount of carpentry work, including replacing the stairs and one of the footings, making it a 3-day job. The problem is that after the initial communications on the first day, I heard nothing else from the foreman (whose command of English was mediocre at best), and I was unable to watch them closely during the day. At some point on day two or three, the crew took it upon themselves to play gardener without asking me, hacking away at and severely damaging a Canadian hemlock tree and an azalea bush near the deck. A couple of tree branch ends were overhanging the deck railing, but rather than merely trimming them back a foot or two, they cut the branches off at the trunk. The 30-yr-old tree had provided visual screening from our neighbors' driveway and carport, but with four large branches entirely removed, it no longer does. (The tree next to it was trimmed much more appropriately, for some reason.) The even older azalea bush was close to the stair railing, but again, rather than just trimming back the smaller offending branches, they cut nearly half of the plant back to its base. The damage is irreparable. Replacing the the plants with equivalent size ones would probably cost over $1,000. The owner did take the $100 (less than 1%) off the balance due, which the foreman then told me was immediately docked from his pay. I hadn't initially realized the full extent of the damage and therefore asked for too little compensation. The deck certainly looks much better, but the carpentry on the stairs is average, the wood was purchased from Home Depot, and the applied Sherwin Williams deck stain only has (to my knowledge) a 5-yr. manufacturer's warranty. But I've lived in the house for 32 yrs. and no stain used on our deck has lasted more than 5 yrs., even those with 8-yr. warranties. I therefore expect I will have to take Deck Ready up on their "free paint" warranty at some point in the not too distant future. Bottom line is that for top dollar one expects professionalism and high quality work. I got unprofessional damage to my landscaping and okay work otherwise. read more

I had a salesman come to my house with what I thought wad a good price. We gave him a deposit. I found out my stair stringers needed replaced so I canceled my contract on the 5th day that was in the contract. I have been waiting on my deposit and its coming up on 3 weeks. Can't get ahold of no one on the phone. Now I will have to get a lawyer to get my money back. The salesman won't even call me back. It's just bad for business. read more

Please stay away from this contractor. My parents hired them to sand, repair, and stain their deck. They had 72 hours to cancel and after thinking about the cost more, they realized $9000 was just a little too much right now. They gave the sales rep a $3000 check. It was cashed before the 72 hour period was over, conveniently the same day my parents called the company to let them know they were going to not go through with the contract. A certified letter was mailed and photographed on the front porch of Deck Ready. All the proper steps were taken to cancel the contract and get the deposit back. Well that was 2 months ago, the owner or sales rep has not called back nor answered any phone calls from my parents. ​The only waybthe company will answer is if they call from a different number, then that number is quickly blocked and never answered again. Now that I was filled in on what's going on, I have to spend time and money getting a lawyer to help my parents get their STOLEN money back. Pretty sad it had to come to this. read more

Do NOT hire! Deck Ready will not meet ANY expectations you wish OR what they agree too. In 2020, we had our wood surface replaced and stained, and the stain FAILED within 3 months with the wood bleeding wood sap which was gross. Upon inquiry and complaint, their solution was to drop off 2 gallons of stain, basically saying "fix it yourself". NOW we see their phony TV ads claiming "10 year warranty". What a LIE. We spent a FORTUNE on real wood decking replacement, not just refinishing, with only a 1 YEAR warranty that means nothing. SCAM, DISHONEST. Do it yourself. If you hire Deck Ready, you'll do it yourself no matter what, with HUGE out of pocket expense to them up front. See the pictures I uploded. They are from 2025, the result of a "new" deck. read more

Made an appointment, verified the appointment. No one showed up. Not even a phone call. Wasted a day waiting for them. Every time I called I spoke to the same lady. When they didn't show up in the allotted time window, she promised to call me back with an update. Never did. I finally called them up and had to leave a message. I said if I can't rely on you to keep your appointments, how can I trust you to do a competent job on my deck. Lousy communications, no apology and no follow up whatsoever. read more

Absolutely horrible deck board replacement and stain. New boards were split and full of knots. The boards were barely sanded and not prepared properly for stain. The stain was supposed to be oil-based but latex was used. The stain peeled up and it took five months to get the warranty stain replacement. Deck Ready promised to apply the stain for free and then backed out when they finally came to my house and saw how badly it was peeling up. Bad wood, bad prep, bad stain, bad warranty, and a broken promise. Steer clear of this awful company! read more

Reached out to schedule a free estimate and they said they could do it on Labor Day. I questioned that, but they confirmed they were open for home estimates. They called once and pushed back our appt from 10-12 and said they could do 12-1. I said it is Labor Day and have plans, but this is important and its a 6 figure job I have them coming out for. So I agreed to have them come at between 12-1. We'll it's 2pm and no one has showed up and the operator can't reach the estimator. Not a good start to a potential job. HORRIBLE COMPANY!!! This company is the worst of the worst. I signed up for an in-home estimate while attending a "Home Show" in late Sept 2018. We set a date/time for October 2, 2018 at 5PM for a sales rep to come by. The evening before the appointed time they called and left a message telling me they were double-booked, and had to cancel the appointment. No reschedule offer, nothing...just left me hanging on what the next move was. Well, I decided to do nothing. Fast forward 5 full months. I get a call from them and they want to come by for an "in home estimate". I reluctantly agreed and we set a time for April 8, 2019 at 12PM noon. Noon time comes and goes, no call, nothing. I call them 1 hour later and ask about my appointment. The same nasally woman starts asking me what I wanted done, etc (which we had already previously discussed on both prior discussions). I stopped her and asked what happened to the sales rep. She put me on hold and 2 minutes and she came back and said "someone should have called you on Saturday to tell you we can't build decks" . WHAT???? First off I never got a phone call on Saturday like she suggested. Second I never asked for a complete new deck. I wanted the old deck floor replaced with new maintenance free composite boards. When I told her this she said, "ooh, you just want resurfacing". These people are MORONS at best. I told her forget it, I hope they go out of business and to look for my review to help them to proceed in that direction. Deck Ready replaced a bunch of boards, painted and restored my deck. Very happy with the outcome.

There's a really good reason Deck Ready has a BBB rating of "F". I signed a contract in July and gave them a $2,000 deposit, but cancelled 5 days later. I requested an immediate refund, but their "customer care" person gave me several different reasons why the refund was delayed. Eventually, they stopped corresponding all together. Only after filing complaints with the BBB and MHIC, did I finally get my refund. This was the absolutely worst experience I have ever had with a contractor. STAY AWAY!! read more

Customers beware, Deck Ready was hired to rebuild my elderly father in laws deck. They did and very poor job and have since failed to return calls or stand behind their work. The examples to this inferior jobs are as follows. (1) The deck boards used are warped and cupped, and even installed cup up so that water collects on the boards during this rain. Not to mention the uneven spacing between the boards! (2) The top rails are also cupped and installed upside down so they to collect rain water, The corner cuts (45s) have gaps in them that you can stick your finger in and the top rail that was spliced for some reason when a whole boards would have fit has as gap in in as well not to mention that the two boards do not even line up. (3) The stairs tread were replaced as well and these boards are warped as well as evident by not sitting on the braces below at all, with the nail visible between the two. (4) The deck was then painted, like a child might, there are clear areas that were missed and plenty of paint spattered on the house. From the price that was charged to my elderly father in law and the job very poor job he received this is nothing short of Taking advantage of the Elderly! We plan to take legal action! read more

I called to schedule an appointment, and the earliest appointment was a week and a half out. So I rearranged things so I could stay home and meet the sales rep. The appointment was between 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Around noon, they called to say they needed to reschedule. The next appointment was another 10 days out. REALLY?!?! I understand things happen, but to call the day of - during the time window for the appointment is extremely unprofessional. To make matters worse, the woman who was on the phone was extremely apathetic and unapologetic. If I ran my business this way, I would be out of business. I will NOT be rescheduling! Unreasonable pricing for small deck. The contractor tried to convince me my foundation needed replacement when I have already had other contractors differ. Then he told me most jobs range between $5k to $7k, he insulted my intelligence as I showed him the door. read more

Deck Ready renewed our tired old deck in June 2017. Later we noticed some areas that we felt needed them to come back, which they did. Our deck takes a beating as it gets baked by the sun for 5-6 hours per day. This year we noted some other areas of our deck that just weren't looking good. We contacted Deck Ready and was told by Emily (who is great to work with) that they would take care of it as soon as the weather allowed. This past Saturday, a 2-man crew arrived; after the crew leader assessed the deck, his recommendation to Emily was that they re-do the deck. Emily authorized this work and our deck had boards replaced, the floor sanded and everything painted. We now have a beautiful new deck. Kudos to Deck Ready! read more

As new homeowners, my husband and I got an estimate from Deck Ready, for a deck, windows, and roof, in May, 2019, we gave a down payment for each, and after a few days and a little more research we had to cancel, because My husband and I decided that their prices was to high. We cancelled within the cancelation period, but they had already cashed our checks the day after the appointment (Appointment Sunday, and Cashed our checks the Monday). It was a nightmare trying to get in contact with someone to speak to about getting our down payment refunded. After about 9 months and filing a complaint with BBB, we got a response that we will receive our payments back. It's coming up on a year, and we have yet to get another communication or response from them about our money. We're also a month past when we were supposed to receive our first payment, and we haven't heard anything, and though I texted the company, I still haven't gotten a response. I'm scared from ever trusting any company again without doing a thorough check of their background.
