I never leave reviews, but I was motivated to open a Yelp account after my wonderful experience today at Dedication. I read a tonne of reviews before choosing this salon (thanks all!), and thought I should pay it forward. After a bleach burn some years ago, I'm extraordinarily fussy about who touches my hair. I'm also very nervous about getting color done, for obvious reasons. I looked at the stylists' Instagrams beforehand -- frankly it was hard to choose because they all do amazing work -- and went for Jessica G, because she seemed to consistently pull off the kind of look I wanted. I've been having my hair colored (blonde, various shades!) since I was 16, and after my bad experience went only to expensive salons in New York and London -- I can honestly say Jessica has given me the best color of my life so far. And what she charges is beyond reasonable. What's more, she was thoughtful, kind, and really listened when I talked her through what I was looking for (and what I was scared of). She seems like a perfectionist, which is pretty much what I want when I put my hair in someone else's hands. I would not hesitate to go back to her. In fact, I'm just sad I'm only here for a few months every year because if I lived here permanently, I wouldn't let anyone else near my hair. Of course what really matters is the hair -- but it's worth saying that as soon as I stepped into the salon, everyone was exceedingly friendly. I was seen immediately, the vibe was chilled, it was just great all round. One last thing: I bought some shampoo and - for the first time in my life -no one tried to up-sell me. In fact, they down-sold me, and recommended a less expensive product that would be better for my particular hair. So, if you're unsure and trying to work out which salon to take a gamble on, I hope it helps to know that I too was a little nervous, but I'm now thrilled that I decided to go with Dedication. read more

Emma at Dedication Salon is incredible! She's been cutting my very curly, very thick hair for years, and I'll follow her anywhere she goes. I drive from Los Angeles for my haircuts with her, she's just that great. She's incredibly talented and I always leave feeling more confident than when I walked in after one of her great cuts. I don't personally color my hair, but I know she's amazing with color as well! The salon is always kept clean and all of the staff have always been so nice. Let me start off by saying that I have never been to a salon that has "WOW-ED" me since I was in high school. I was searching for a salon since I recently moved to Aliso Viejo and Dedication Salon was the 1st to catch my attention. Everything about the salon is cute (even the bathroom), but to be honest it was the American flag that got me. I had my appointment last Thursday with Sydnee and she was AMAZING! She has such a sweet personality and her style overall is super cute. When I had my consultation w/ her (before my appt) she asked me to bring in 2 pictures of what I did like and 2 of what I didn't...and let me say she NAILED IT. My hair is absolutely beautiful thanks to her. She also did a cut which I was nervous about, but it was so well done that I actually like my hair shorter than what I am comfortable with. This salon is contemporary, earthy, and clean. I love the hard wood floors, wood paneling and California feel. The staff are extremely talented. I had my hair done by Tiffany Dreyer and she made my hair look like a Victoria's Secret model! No one has ever been able to get my hair just right but after she did a hand painted balayage, my hair looks amazing up, down, dirty, clean, etc. I keep coming back to her and she does a phenomenal job every time. While I was waiting for her in the lobby I over heard her being requested by a high profile client. Love this salon and love Tiffany. This salon is fantastic! I was new to salons and happened to stumble upon this one and have been blown away ever since. I didn't know exactly what I was looking for and told my stylist as such and we came up with a game plan to get me the hair I wanted. I have now been going to Nicole for a little over a year and have been thrilled after every appointment. I am getting married next week and she took care in scheduling out all of our appointments to make sure my hair was ready to go for the day of! She is always knowledgeable and up for sharing her expertise. She knows what will work for my hair and takes the times to make sure I am getting what I want and that I am happy with the end result. I used to live right behind the salon so it was quick and convenient, but even after we moved away, I keep going back for Nicole! She is absolutely fantastic! The salon itself is always super clean, receptionist is friendly and really helpful if you need to move around appointments or calling to schedule a new one. They even call the day before for a reminder and confirmation of the appointment.
