My aunt and I are big on supporting Blacked Owned Businesses. Today was our first time visiting this establishment. When we arrived, the lady at the door escorted us to the elevator. I was feeling the graffiti inspired art. When we arrived to main floor, the staff greeted us . We were the first customers. I admit, the ambiance was nice. Out waitress Lyric was really nice and attentive. We all ordered the Creole Fried Catfish. They have a nice menu selection. I admit the food was good. Fish fried to perfection, the creole sauce was at first a little off putting but the more I tasted, the flavor was even more delicious. The rice was everything! Although, this establishment did faced a rocky opening with all the views and the unfair controversy in its beginning stages of being a new restaurant , they definitely did not disappoint. I admit. I was impressed.

Finally, a server brings out one flute of water for a table 12 UGGGGHHHH, finding myself asking again wayyyyy more than I should have for another one. So what did the server do? She placed the flute of water to the other end of the table instead of bringing out another one. Let's talk about the chicken alfredo with me adding grilled shrimp, TOTALLY OVER RATED, I don't use salt, but it was needed it. There was NO SALT or PEPPER on the table.... finding myself again asking for something that should've been present already....... and there was a wait for that too. Please do better..... please for your potential new customers that plan to partake at this establishment. I myself will not be returning. Had a ball with friends there. My best friend had the jerk shrimp tacos on corn tortillas, and she enjoyed them as well. The best part? Tacos are $5 on Taco Tuesday! * The catfish was GREAT! It was crispy, juicy, tender, and perfectly flaky. It came in a meal deal with 2 chicken wings for only $3.99! * Happy hour includes $5 pours of tequila and cognac. You also get 2 shooters for $5. * If you're with a good group, karaoke night can be very fun...just don't have any expectations of the crowd actually listening to you. Lows: * The chicken wings were under-cooked. The staff graciously took them back and recooked them for us, but by that time, we were over it. But I will say most folks were enjoying them. * You're out of luck during happy hour if you don't drink Henny or Jose Cuervo. I wish they'd at least add a whiskey. * Service is AWFUL! And no that's not an exaggeration. While all the staff is nice and friendly, there's only 1 bartender and 1 server the majority of the time, and the place is typically packed. When we order drinks, we make sure to order double because it will take 30mins+ to get your next round. The price point is great, but you have to wonder at what cost? After sitting at the bar for 15 minutes without being served, we left. We observed him eating at the end of the bar talking to a friend. Went to another establishment and found out the bartender on duty at 6:30 pm is known to be less than attentive. He must be related to someone who works there. He is the only male bartender that works there Not interested in returning during his shifts. On a positive note, we did go a few weeks ago and met bartender MJ.
