We rented space here for my grandma's celebration of life, and it was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, the owner made a special accommodation just for us. The service was excellent, the establishment spotless, and the food was so delicious--I still dream about it! The DJ was phenomenal, mixing old school with new school and turning the mood from somber to joyous. Huge shoutout to the security and bar staff as well--they went above and beyond and were so kind. Crazy...I wasn't going to this place..but dropping someone off that was meeting some friends. They never been but it was where her friends were meeting. I've never been but I'm always looking for a new spot to try. Seemed like a pretty chill spot in Harvey. However, upon arrival on October 30th 2020 at approximately 9:45pm I went to turn into the parking lot but was immediately stopped buy the dude patrolling the lot. "Keep Moving, nigga I don't know you" He shouted. I was shocked and so was the person I was dropping off at his rude behavior. I then said I'm sorry first time here, I just want to know where can I drop off since you're blocking me from the parking lot. He again said I don't know you, you should've said that..but he still didn't let me in to drop off. So the young lady had to get out of the car at the curb and walk across the parking lot to enter. I then said.. you know I've never been here..but after that experience I told him I never will.. she said I would go back home if I wasn't meeting friends here. I come in contact with over 100 travelers a week. I love recommending nice places. Well, this won't be one of them. To top it off, when I said I wouldn't go because of his behavior..He said good. Mind you, I've never been here nor have I ever met this over zealous parking lot guy. Well he just cost you a potential customer not to mention I'll never recommend this place to anyone. Good experience people tell a few friends...bad experience people tell hundreds. Yall may wanna teach yo parking lot solider about how to teach those coming to spend money there. Went here over the wknd for an event they were supposed to have. Yes the weather was bad so the event being canceled is/was understandable and it was unfortunate. However what is and always be completely and utterly unacceptable is the fact that the cancellation was not communicated. The event was still showing on eventbrite as though it was still going on, there was no email sent to suggest otherwise. This wasn't a place I would return to. If not for the fact I knew one of the bartenders I would have walked out as soon as the order was missed. Especially the third and fourth. Service lacked any pride or professionalism. A two star rating is really being nice. I know that they wash the CUPS (could have just used solo red) because my water tasted like dawn dish soap (could go into why I know that brand) asked for a Corona in a frosted glass with lime, got it when I got home. Been to dives with better service. Guess if you are not a regular this place could care less. Sad because the music was great, live DJ played videos from the 90's up to present day. Went to brunch with my friends & it was a terrible experience. The food was cold & they didn't have the proper condiments, so we could enjoy our food properly. The lamb chops were very small to size & tasted so bland, that we couldn't even eat it. We weren't even accommodated for our bad service. As someone who use to work in space rental and events, this is a dope venue, clean, nice atmosphere. The lack is in service. We waited over an hour for 6 pieces of wings, not 6 whole chicken wings, but 3 whole wings cut up to make 6. I believe there were only 3 servers taking orders for the whole venue. It was packed on this night as well. To sum things up, I would come back but I would definitely eat first! Oh and the band was nice, the South Suburban Collective. Super nice! I been coming at this bar for a while. i never been at a bar when the men on the security team are so envious. They are NOT professional at all. Long story short, while waiting for the bathroom because security said me and the other lady could use the bathroom. I was being patient But, as a grown woman who NEEDS to use the bathroom... I wasnt trying to pee on myself. i tried to run into the mens bathroom and the security grabbed me saying I cant go. When he grabbed me, i reacted to a slight tug and push because i didnt give you consistent to touch me. As im walking out, ANOTHER male decided to make comments on how the female security guard will "slump" me. I dont take threats well AT ALL. Went there tonight (3/4/21) to celebrate a with a friend and the new skinny old security guard wouldn't let my cousin in because she used profanity. Like... ITS A BAR and you're a grown a*s man... she didn't threaten him or any of the staff.. she even asked how it offended him so she could apologize. The WORST!!!!!! Came here for a STEPPERS morning affair, 95.1 STEPPERS BRUNCH..... It started at 11:00, we had to stand in the cold for 30 minutes????? Once inNO SEATS..... Korbel is $60 (WTH) & the service was HORRIBLE..... after waiting over a hour for a 222 & some Shrimp and Grits we canceled. And don't even think about substituting a side, IF IT AIN'T ON THE MENU, YOU CAIN'T ORDER IT!!!! This us the PROBLEM with BLACK ESTABLISHMENTS, they don't prepare themselves for these crowds, then they get greedy on their prices, which causes you to order something you'd rather not have, to SUPPORT them. My first time here. Came to see Kenny Latimore. Got here before doors opened at 7. While I like the actual venue, I strongly recommend EAT BEFORE YOU COME! I did not get the waitresses attention till 9:45 to place my order! I tried ordering at the bar, but as soon as I went to place my order she said they just got word to hold all food orders. Really? I don't understand, you sold tickets to the concert you KNOW how many guest you have, why don't you have enough waitresses/cooks to handle the crowd? Unbelievable! I will add when I finally got my shrimp @ 10:15pm ( concert was almost over) it as very good- slightly salty but good. My sister ordered a chicken sandwich which she also enjoyed. The two female bartenders were very friendly and apologetic for the issue with the food and the wait. This is why I gave 2 stars. Lastly, Kenny Latimore should have opened up for the opening act ( Soul Street Collective-a local group). His performance was just ok, but not only did Soul Street sound AWESOME their performance was very engaging. I will definitely see them again. read more

The Venue is absolutely wonderful. The Band we went to see Midnight Sun was off the charts. But thats where it stops! We ordered fish n chips 2x and each time it took over an hour. Our server was the worse..2x she asked us do you need anything we said yes and she disappeared. When we did order drinks she returned with them one at a time. The venue has booths seated s little higher up than main floor bout 3feet higher..instead of walking around to steps and coming to our booth..the waitress reached through the rails and past patrons sitting at the table below us to hand us our food and drinks. She disappeared on many occasions..when we looked 4 her she could be seen leaning against the bar either messaging, Facebooking or whatever. I noticed most the other bartenders and waitresses doing the same thing. The service we received really left a bad taste in our mouths about the place...THEN WE GOT OUR BILL!!!! First they had other peoples orders on our bill 2nd with the terrible service we received they automatically added 18% gratuity..no warning no sign..no adjustment for bad service..no wonder the staff didnt care bout they performance they was getting tipped no matter what and a nice tip at that. We asked see the manager..we waited 35min no one showed, we asked for a business card to contact them it took 15 more minutes to get one..one of the staff apologized and said the manager was in the DJ booth and this is pretty much normal around here.
