Okay I should start by saying that I am much less well informed when it comes to Thai food. I tend to stick to the basics so I judge Thai places by freshness of the food and general atmosphere. I have been to Dee Thai several times and never understand why they ar slow but still in business. Its a mystery. I have only been for dinner so maybe they do a good lunch business? This place is in a strip shopping center but is fine inside - nothing special but not pretty open and airy. I love their coconut soup with shrimp. It has great flavor and the shrimp are high quality! My go to entree is the Chicken See Ew, which is nice here. My friend who is more adventurous likes their food quite a bit... she tends to get the Basil Beef, Pad Prick Beef or maybe even a curry and has had little complaints. She has had to push to get her dishes really hot... sometimes they come out too mild for her. I am a wimp so I just add chili sauce to taste. We ordered take out, drunken (basil) noodles which was pretty good and nice portion size but the chicken green curry was horrible! They literally put green food coloring to make it green. I mean even the chicken was green. It would probably glow in the dark. Aside from looking unappealing it was bland and had no flavor at all. We also ordered coconut soup which was ok but I've had better, it was watered down and didn't taste like coconut. Not going back here again...ever. read more

Really terrible food. In the quest for saving cost, they used dye to cook my food. I have never seen a green curry in this shade of green before, the true revealer was the bright green color of the chicken and the rubbery texture. Their food is just okay... what bothers me most is that I ordered red curry, which is supposed to come with eggplants... Unless their eggplants look hauntingly similar to green beans, they just decided to charge me for an incomplete dish. Had I known they were out of eggplant (or even worse, just trying to cut corners), I would've ordered something else or saved myself money and gone elsewhere. I've come here several times now during lunchtime with coworkers, and we all always get the same thing. Mind you, we're not all super conservative, but its just the best thing on the menu. We get the combo fried rice, which is basically fried rice with vegetables and all the other kinds of meat they have, including chicken, shrimp, beef, and pork. The thing that makes this Thai place unique though, besides the great flavor of the fried rice, is the sheer amount that they give you. First of all the plate is HUGE. Like maybe a little under a square foot in size. And thats not even the good part; they really put the COMBO in combo fried rice, since they put SO MUCH meat on it. It's not like most other places where the fried rice is 85% rice, 10% vegetables, and 5% meat(s), but rather the meat is at least 40% of the stuff on the plate, being about the same as the vegetables in amount. This makes for a very hearty meal, and to add to that, its cooked well and tastes good, so it's not just a ton of meat with a ton of rice and vegetables all cooked badly. The only downside here is that it's 10 bucks, and takes a bit to make. But the staff is really nice and very quick with our sweet tea refills that we always get. Pretty cool place. read more

I've been here a couple of times. My feeling is that it js a hit or miss, but overall average for a Thai food. I had come back to try the same dish because it was good the first time around to find out it wasn't good the second (on more than one occasion). It's close to the house (so that is a big plus). Love this restaurant! I have tried almost every Thai restaurant in the Alpharetta/Roswell area, as well as select locations in Buckhead, Duluth, and Atlanta, and Dee Thai is consistently outstanding! My all-time favorite dish is spicy catfish, which is carried by so few restaurants, and not only does Dee Thai have this delectable item on the menu, they make it exceptionally well! Just the right amount of batter, fish perfectly sliced, and amazing sauce! Not quite a typical red curry, this sauce delivers flavor and heat (I like my food Hot) in a most satisfying way. For those who prefer traditional curries, even my pickiest eater enjoys their panang chicken, and the green curry chicken is always a safe bet. I've been eating from here for years and I had to post a positive review. I have never been disappointed with what I order. Tonight we ordered to-go, which was a first for me from the restaurant and an introduction to Dee Thai for my companion. We started with the Fried Tofu as an appetizer, which I definitely recommend, especially for its crispness. Normally for my entree I get Green Curry with tofu, Thai hot, which is my absolute favorite. Tonight, I decided to have their Salmon Curry, which was positively delicious! My companion had the Pineapple Duck, which I was told was very good, as well. (I did not have the opportunity to try it myself.) Then to drink we both had Thai Iced Tea, which is always a nice treat. I went to Dee Thai around 6PM and my brother and I were the only customers when we entered. We were told to pick any table and we selected a corner booth. Our waiter promptly took our drink orders, and brought us our cokes. It was canned coke and not fountain coke. After looking over the menu I ordered the Green Curry with beef. When our food came out the first thing I noticed was how much of it there was. I finished my food, but for many people making two meals out of it would be easy. The food was very flavorful with just the right amount of heat. I don't have a lot of experience with Thai food so I can't really say how it compares to other places, but I would definitely eat here again. read more

Visited on a quiet Wednesday night. We were one of three tables dining in on that evening. I ordered panang chicken and we got another tofu dish as well as an order of spring rolls. The spring rolls were good, the tofu+noodles combo looked good (didn't try it), but the panang was average at best. I wasn't a fan of the way the chicken was cooked, as it turned out rubbery and unappetizing. The interior is decent, nothing spectacular. The staff is courteous and the only thing that I would suggest is printing the suggested tips on a receipt instead of writing the values in at the bottom of a guest check. Most places I have been to that have suggested tip amounts on receipts start with 12% or 15% and then go higher, so I felt that only including suggested tips of 18% and 20% is an ambitious move. It wasn't my first time eating here and probably won't be my last since it is a convenient location, but it isn't somewhere I would bring people to be wowed. read more

I've been coming here for years even before the recent temporary closing. As far as taste the food has been very consistent and I'm never dissatisfied with my meals. My husband loves their pad see ew. We travel all over the metro Atlanta area for Thai food and he claims the pad see ew at Dee Thai is the best he's had. They used to be really good, but I guess they changed their chef a while back and he can never get the spice level right. hot is as bad as thai hot and then sometimes medium is extremely hot or completely bland. And they have salmon on their menu but never have it when we order. It used to be packed but now there are only a few sparse tables when ever I go to pickup.
