The parking lot…read moreabsolutely fills up during the morning as there were people circling around when we departed at around 10am. The park spans both sides of the land with features on both the Intracoastal Waterway side of A1A and the ocean side with a narrow pedestrian walkway under the bridge on both sides of the inlet. A playground, restrooms, park space and then the "show" of watching boaters try to make their way. It's a tremendous thing to watch as these folks go too slow or too fast against the current and around the small bend to get between the Ocean and the Inlet. Sadly, I've only been able to see them on the Youtube channel as the two boats this morning both chickened out. Still, a fabulous spot to get near the water and beaches. Some different friends who also Disc Golf had said it was one of the best courses around so I finally felt the urge to make it up there. The open a little early which is nice too. Entering the park is impressive in itself. There are so mnay things going on from a large lake spanning waterpark, wildlife all over, a BMX park that's a good size, and of course, the disc course. The things some had said that was obvious immediately, is that the place had far more rolling hills than any park or place in South Florida. I started off at the top of a hill and had to through down to the bottom of the hill. There were shots later where I had to throw over a pond and up a hill. From the elevation changes to the great forest and water holes, it really was worth the drive. Heck, I've been back 2 more times this month already.

During the COVID lockdown, walking the trails became my favorite pastime. Especially as a pregnant woman looking for peace and fresh air, lol. Years later, those same trails are still a favorite activity for my son and me. More recently, I've taken up disc golf and was excited to find out the group I joined regularly plays at the Okeeheelee course. It's been such a fun and engaging experience! Just yesterday, I attended a picnic at one of the park's pavilions, and it was wonderful. The swings and playground next to the pavilion made it perfect for a family-friendly event. The space provided plenty of seating and shade, so everyone could enjoy themselves without being overwhelmed by the heat. There's still so much of this park I haven't explored yet, and I genuinely look forward to continuing to visit for years to come.

I booked this trip a month and a half in advance due to an Instagram post and their 5 star reviews. I talked to the owner on the phone and shared that we had four small children and four adults. I was told the boat held 10 people. We discussed going to peanut island and everything seemed great. I showed up on the day of departure (with all of our food and drinks)...was allowed to board the boat only to find out they booked us for a captain who was only allowed to charter six people. After several phone calls, we were told we had to get off the boat or leave two people behind. Obviously having two families - we didn't have the option of kicking two people off! They agreed to refund our money but ruined our Memorial Day weekend plans of enjoying a boat!! It might not seem like a big deal - but explaining this to four small kids....it's heartbreaking. I thought someone would at least reach out with an apology of some sorts....as this was beyond ridiculous and even sent a message hoping for some type of explanation- NOTHING! At this point, I just want to save another family from booking a charter with them - especially if they are here for a few days as you can't trust this company to be responsible enough to actually take you out on the boat! More importantly, the owner could care less about making things right or extending a simple apology. If I was able to give zero stars- I would! Again! Be very very careful in choosing this company - they are completely unreliable and more importantly, don't care at all to extend an apology or attempt to explain!

After things slowed down he asked us if we wanted to try to catch a shark over a wreck before heading in. He predicted what he expected to happen and right on cue we get a hit. My 14 year old grandson landed a 10 foot bull shark that weighed around 500 pounds. A fishing day that will never be forgotten.

The crew is awesome. There are good days and there are days where the fish just aren't biting, but there is never a bad day on this boat. Young or old, experienced or never held a fishing pole before, you'll be comfortable aboard. Poles and bait are provided if you don't have your own. The crew is great with newbies as well as young kids learning to drop their line. They are there in an instant when your hook needs more bait and are very knowledgeable about what's biting so they will set you up with a proper rig. This is a drift fishing boat so you can expect some line tangles, but you can also expect to catch kings, snapper of many kinds, grouper, Mahi, cobia, Porgie, tuna... just to name a few. The boat is equipped with bathrooms, an air-conditioned cabin and a cooler of water to stay hydrated. Check their Facebook for updates before you head out as they privately charter the boat sometimes. Pack a cooler, some snacks (no bananas), plenty of sunscreen, and head out for an awesome time!

Blue Devil Fishing is the best there is! I highly recommend. Gary, Matt and Steve are the captains and they create such an amazing welcoming atmosphere to be in the best head space to slay fish. Last time we went out I caught 3 sailfish and the boat landed 5. I had a blast doing it! They provide everything you need towels, clothes, gear, food, sunblock and most importantly a FISH ON ATTITUDE! I can't wait to go out with them again. They catch swordfish, grouper, tuna, marlin, sailfish, mahi, cobia, kings, barracuda you name it so prepare yourself for a fun day! TIGHT LINES!
