Yum! Acai is just the right amount of sweetness. I added banana, strawberry, blueberry, granola almond butter, and PB crumbs. Also added some blue chia pudding. Tasty, healthy, reasonable price. 24 oz was a meal along with a slice of the PB toast- sturdy piece of a whole grain bread topped with bananas, berries, and a touch of honey that was good (not too sweet). When lunch time rolled around and my team headed to the food court for lunch, I was delighted to see an açaí shop and even happier when I realized that you could have unlimited toppings at Deep Purpl. There was only one person in line ahead of me to order, but there was only one person behind the counter handling both order intake and preparation - in addition to online orders that continuously streamed in. After waiting about 10 minutes, I placed my order for an açaí bowl with all the fixings - and received my order 10 minutes after that. Deep Purpl serves their açaí in a cup rather than a bowl, which was easier to carry back to the office but made for more difficult consumption later. The açaí was placed at the top of the cup, the chia seeds and coconut were wedged in the bottom of the cup, and it was difficult to stir everything together. On a positive note, the fruit was sweet and fresh, and I was given a generous serving of granola and other toppings. The açaí bowl could be improved with better distribution of ingredients and a more efficient order intake system - otherwise, it was a refreshing treat in the middle of the work day. read more

I stopped by on my way through the train station and saw this location in the food court. I was a bit underwhelmed by the taste of the actual acai and thought it was a bit icy. I love that that give unlimited toppings though! My favs were the goji berries and the almond butter. read more

I have found my new Chicago obsession which is Deep Purpl and their consistently standout acai bowls with unlimited toppings (yes, you read that correctly!) This location is inside of a shopping center and is a healthy option for those looking for a light meal or a snack during their day. They specialize in acai bowls and also offer smoothies using similar ingredients. I always get their medium size bowl ($11) and incorporate all the toppings I can imagine, including almond butter, cacao nibs, coconut shreds, and all the classic fruits that go into making this a delicious treat. Checking in on Yelp gets you a small discount but the worker found it odd and had me attempt to register for their mailing list before my discount could be applied. It was strange, but I'm still happy to have it be applied. read more

This is my first review, but I feel like some things need to be said. This was my 4th time coming here over the years, and the QUALITY and CUSTOMER SERVICE have definitely diminished. This time, my açaí bowl had questionable yellow flakes throughout. They gave me about 1/5 of a banana and only a tablespoon of blueberries (literally about five). The man serving me also took around 8 minutes to come out from the back before even taking my order (no apologies for the wait, and seemed annoyed I was asking questions about menu items) I paid $15 for this experience, and unfortunately, I will not be returning. read more

I had a wonderful time with my colleague, enjoying conversation and great service from Nara at Deep Purpl. The Açaí bowls were deliciously prepared with a variety of fruits, nuts, and seeds, which are difficult to come by. We were extremely pleased with the flavor and thrilled for Brasilian native Nora's ability to fit everything with vanilla protein powder added. The restaurant was in a great location and perfect for photo opportunities with the city lights in the background as you can see in our photo. read more

I was craving açaí, so I hunted this spot down. I went to order a bowl, and they were running a special to get a bowl and an empanada for the same price -- something suggested by the staff. I was so excited, and definitely went with my sweet tooth and the banana Nutella option. I love this place so much. The Açaí bowls always have the perfect smoothie to topping ratio. One never overpowers the other, it's always a perfect blend. The guy who prepared my doordash order had it ready so quick and he even stored it in the fridge I I love how they have such a good range in sizes bc their smallest one is just perfect for a snack before the gym! :) read more

What a fun twist on Acai bowls! It's one of the healthier options inside the train station food court AND it's open late! When you order, you pick from 4 different sizes and then choose your toppings which are unlimited. I tried to limit myself to four toppings since the more toppings you get, the less smoothie fits in the cup. I ended up with strawberries, cacao nibs, hemp seeds, and almond butter which turned out perfect. They layer the toppings in the cup which is cute but a little hard to eat. I ended up having to eat all the strawberries at once instead of mixing it all together. read more

I really wanted to love this spot! Let's start with things I did love: the staff. They were amazing, so patient while I asked what the recommend because I had never been there, attentiveness, friendliness, A+ all around. I love having a plant based option right in the mix of it all downtown. Their menu is intriguing and I had really high hopes. I ordered a deep purple smoothie and one of the dessert empanadas. This was not a particularly quick experience, which was fine for me but if I was in a rush, I probably wouldn't stop here. I actually loved the flavor of the smoothie, however the texture was really a struggle for me. It was chunky in multiple differently textured chunks, and it was off-putting. The empanada was dry and I really wish it had been sweeter. Also of course to consider in this area that parking will be mostly expensive garages, so great option if you'll already be downtown or live close. Not a quick in and out parking-wise. Unfortunately I will probably not try again here, but I do think they have potential and hope others have a better experience! read more

Outside of Hawaii, the best açai bowl I've had so far! I don't like honey and was worried the açai would not be sweet enough without the added honey and it was perfect! I love that they have three different size options with unlimited topping choices. I can't normally finish an açai bowl but with the small size it was just the right size. I love that everything is vegan, so there's no worry about milk since I don't do milk products. The only downside is it is a bit pricey but açai bowls tend to be pricey. During the day it was not crowded when we walked by night there was a big crowd in there. We also tried the chorizo empanada and it was tasty, although a bit dry. The garlic aïoli sauce was a perfect dipping sauce that made the empanada just right! read more

Açaí bowls are the main thing here. Deep Purpl has a couple locations. It has this one in the West Loop. Get small or large bowls. There's also juices and salads. Getting açaí bowls is a healthy alternative to ice cream. It's pretty expensive at a lot of places but for here it's not. They have a good price on a small. It's $6.99 for a bowl. This is the small bowl that's at this price. Believe it. This thing is really tiny. A good thing is it comes with unlimited toppings so get as many as you feel. They have almond butter, fruit slices, and granola. Add ins are free. It means load it up as much as you can fit in it. There's no charge for weight. read more

Me and my boyfriend order here every now and then and they always mess up our order.. they always never put spoons it or put only 2 pieces of kiwi when the acai is already expensive and getting only 2 or 3 pieces of kiwi? And today we got our order and asked for kiwi and they didn't even put it on our bowl and gave us blueberries instead. My bf is allergic to blueberries... as you can see in the pictures. I see you Deep Purpl... açaí done a little different. I've had smoothie bowls aplenty, but DP has reinvented the smoothie bowl as a *drumroll* SMOOTHIE! And now this is my preference. Look, there are more cons to a smoothie bowl than you realize. For starters, in bowl form all of your toppings are where the name detonates, on top. But the issue with that is you end up eating all of them immediately and then you're left spooning through smoothie that's half melted. With DP's concoction you have layers. Layers are important to ensuring optimal topping to açaí ratio. Beyond that, DP allows you to customize to your heart's desire. This has cause me to become obsessed with nut butters layered into my smoothie. It's a weird combo, but it's so damn good and you're not gonna find that with a smoothie bowl because it wouldn't be pretty to throw a dollop of peanut butter on a smoothie bowl, but layered in a smoothie it looks Insta-ready. Along with nut butters, my other go-tos a coconut and banana. And at DP toppings are unlimited! So go crazy if you want. I usually grab a smoothie when I'm headed home since it's in the Ogilvie train station, but if I wasn't in such a rush in the mornings it would be great for breaky too. read more

Since I don't go downtown that often, I wanted to try out something new -- either a coffee place, a smoothie, or an acai bowl. I decided on a smoothie. I found Deep Purpl inside the Accenture building food court (located on the ground level). I went with the Deep Blue smoothie based on the picture. I mean, how often do you get to eat or drink something blue? It came to $11 w/ tax & tip (plus a "small business service fee"), which is rather expensive for a smoothie. However, it was very tasty. Good banana and honey flavor, and a really cool look. Is the blue color natural? I don't know, but I doubt it. I also don't know how healthy/unhealthy it is since I couldn't find nutrition facts anywhere. read more

I have been having the biggest craving for an açaí bowl, but was skeptical since I haven't had any really good ones in Chicago. I decided to take a chance and get Deep Purpl delivered via UberEats. I was surprised to see that they were BOGO free!! What a steal! I checked DoorDash and unfortunately they didn't have this promotion. Awesome açaí bowls. I love how you can choose an unlimited amount of toppings here for no extra cost. There are also multiple sizes you can choose from! I know I get frustrated sometimes when a place only sells huge açaí bowls because I'm typically eating these as a snack. The açaí base is so smooth and thick--the perfect consistency. No one likes a runny açaí bowl!! The service here was pretty quick and the ambiance is very casual. I am "obsessed" with Deep Purpl. I get an 8oz. "bowl" (comes in a cup) with almond butter, granola, blueberries, bananas, and a little honey -- that's just me. You can get whatever toppings you like. Some locations have added a hazelnut topping. If you are health conscious, consider the combination of the acai and other fruits, which contain natural sugars, verses the granola and other toppings --refined sugars. #notsohealthy I go to the locations in Hyde Park, on Randolph, and in the Union Pacific Railroad Station (Accenture Tower) often and the one on Milwaukee occasionally. I have had about the same quality of service at every location except the Accenture Tower-- when ordering online they are not quick to respond and twice my order was not ready when I arrived. (They were not busy-- they just aren't getting the online orders quickly). The larger stores are cute and clean. I hope they add locations further south in the city. read more

Deep Purpl is one of the better acai spots in the city. The consistency is just right, not too watery which is what I've experienced at a handful of other places. AND they give you unlimited toppings, which is rare to see. Usually additional toppings are $.25-$.50 more for each. The fruits were fresh and sweet. Can't wait to have another bowl soon! read more

I usually love this place and come all the time, but my experience today was not great. I'm usually not a picky person, I understand that bowls will vary by each worker and I'm usually very happy with whatever bowl I get. But, this one was just honestly a rip off. no acai, all granola. It just wasn't acceptable considering I'm paying for an acai bowl, not a granola bowl. and to top off, not many blueberries. I'm wondering if maybe he was a new worker since I've never seen him before, considering that he was doing this to all the bowls after ours. but bottom line, please offer more training for your employees! Side note: we did not ask for extra granola and when we asked for a new one, we were told that he couldn't give us one since the order was already done read more

I have an acai bowl obsession. I want it in the summer, winter, in a house with a mouse. I want it all the time and while on vacation is no exception. We were wandering around this train station, waiting out a flash storm, when I saw DP in the back of this sad, sad food court. There was one guy working there and by the time I was done ordering, there was a huge line formed behind me. For this reason, I think A) dude should get a raise, and B) staffing is probably hard. Seriously, the guy was clearly under a lot of pressure to make the perfect 25+ customized topping bowl for me all while trying to ignore the 5 person line behind me crossing their arms, flipping their hair and staring him down. He deserves better. Any who, the acai bowl was delicious and I LOVE the fact that the toppings are free. I highly recommend! read more

Great concept. Excellent service. A little bit overpriced, and honestly the empanadas were just okay, but they were pretty + instagrammable. It's definitely worth a stop at least 1x when you're in the area. Kudos to the staffer because we have food allergies and the server was prepared with a document that gave excellent ingredient information. He was conversational and gave great advice about what to choose. read more

Deep Purpl... more like CRACK. This is truly and unequivocally the BEST acai we have had in Chicago. Unlimited toppings- 20 oz doesn't do it for us, give us 40! S drove 1 hour to get Deep Purpl after a full 12 hour day of work. If that doesn't sell it to you, you don't appreciate perfection. This will fulfill a quick lunch break, a post workout refuel, or a dessert. S highly recommends the peanut butter. Z recommends almond butter and honey. The unlimited toppings really takes DP to the next level, keeping the price at a reasonable range. If you appreciate the sweeter things in life, you will make the effort to get to DP. Great food and great service! The girls working there are very polite and nice. Based on that, I would recommend this place. However, you absolutely can't enjoy the area outside because you are constantly being harassed by beggars who ask you for money and then scream at you if you don't give them. Inside, they don't have too much seating area, and usually, it's all taken by other customers. I had to take my empanadas across the street and sit by the Starbucks just to eat. This place should put security there or reach out to the newly elected mayor to prevent downtown from going downhill. read more

This was convenient and in the area. It's located in a food court in the building, so some other options there as well. The bowls are in a cup and you have a little less options of what to include unlike the smoothies. I'm not sure if the açaí base is only açaí or additional things, but all in all I was satisfied with the taste. I used the first time coupon I found here on Yelp as well. read more
