This is one of the cutest places I have ever stepped inside. I love the aesthetic. It's very clean and I love the bowls.

Went in on May 9th, a Saturday and it was only 2 people ahead of and the person behind he counter was moving so slow and was working by herself. She was constantly getting online orders that she couldn't keep up with. She then made an announcement that online orders were 15 minutes behind and that it would be 20-30 minutes for walk ins. I looooove this place! It's just the cutest, dainty smoothie spot in Hyde Park and it's soooo delicious! I've been patronizing them since they opened and I've witnessed their growth, from the service to the menu -- they've done amazing! They have a the cutest little picture props and the ambiance gives "come in, relax, have a açaí bowl and just vibe!" I've also visited the downtown and Lincoln park locations, and while the açaí bowl was still as delicious and the atmosphere was welcoming -- there is still a different feel compared to the Hyde Park location. This location gives study session, quick link-up, WFH session, and so much more. The music is always amazing and it's always a chill crew! 100/10 read more

This was my first time trying this smoothie and açaí place. If you order online you can get deals. Parking in Hyde park can be sparse but fortunately if you are just grabbing and going you can use the 15 min parking in front of the building. It's such a cute and sleek place. I just felt healthy walking in lol. My order was ready in under 10 min and I was able to make modifications to the smoothie picked out. I got the caramelized onion empanada and it was just OK. I probably should've gone with the spinach artichoke one. I can't wait to try different flavors read more

Very overpriced for a such a little bowl, but it's nice that you can put any toppings you want on it. The acai tastes has a weird taste to it but it's not too bad. In my opinion, Tropical smoothie has better acai bowls. read more

Loved that they have unlimited toppings. Getting an acai bowl was different in a cup but still good with fresh fruit. Prices are normal/as to be expected. Location is great and easily accessible (parking may be a bit difficult but there's loading spaces). Service was very friendly and patient while I was deciding. Ambiance is cute with a few small table. Downside is that my acai melted very quickly and it wasn't too hot outside. read more

Açaí bowls are the main thing here. Deep Purpl has a couple locations. It has this one in Hyde Park. Get small or large bowls. There's also juices and salads. Getting açaí bowls is a healthy alternative to ice cream. It's pretty expensive at a lot of places but for here it's not. They have a good price on a small. It's $6.99 for a bowl. This is the small bowl that's at this price. Believe it. This thing is really tiny. A good thing is it comes with unlimited toppings so get as many as you feel. They have almond butter, fruit slices, and granola. Add ins are free. It means load it up as much as you can fit in it. There's no charge for weight. read more

Good help is hard to find. I get it. However, I do not want to walk into an establishment and hear an employee's conversation on speaker phone. Her phone was so loud that she asked me to repeat 3 times my request. The smart thing would be 1. Move your device to another area so you can hear 2. Take the call off speaker so you can hear or 3. Don't be on the phone when customers come in. I asked for extra ingredients, and she didn't give me a sufficient amount, just a sprinkle, and the Acai doesn't taste the same. I am very disappointed in the quality of my bowl and the bad customer service I received. I pay too much to not receive a quality product. I WILL NOT return to this specific location. read more

I love the açaí bowls here but the two stars are for the bad service. There are two young ladies I see working there. Sometimes there's a black woman and she moves very quickly to get your order to you but she has an extremely unpleasant attitude. I walk in the store, she doesn't speak, I speak to her, "hello," and she literally rolled her eyes. And I had to say hello twice! The first time she just stared and the second time is when she rolled her eyes. Ok cool. There's another lady that works there. Not black and I don't think she's white either but I'm not 100% sure of her racial/ethnic background. However, this other lady moves SLOW as molasses. Probably slower. Once I went in and it took nearly a half hour to get my order and there were only like two people ahead of me. I thought maybe that day was just a fluke. I went back within a week or two and she was there again. There was a woman standing off to the side of the register and a man at a table. I asked the woman was she in line and she said no and just as I was about to attempt the order, the worker lady said "I'm doing other orders right now," and I was like "ok well I'd like to put in an order as well." And basically, she was trying to say but did not explicitly state that she wouldn't even take my order because she had so many online orders and then two in store orders. Then the lady that standing off to the side chimes in and says that she actually placed her order online for pickup and got there ten minutes after the order was placed and her order still was not being worked on. I didn't have time to wait like I did before but I see this young lady just has no urgency about her. Just absolutely terrible. The one lady that does move quickly has an attitude and the other one moves slow as heck. And for the slow one, it's crazy because it's literally just a damn smoothie. Like come on now. Nobody has time for all that slow movement. She should work in a book store or something. I just can't with her! read more

I had my first ever acai here and was very impressed! I was wandering around looking for breakfast and decided to give this place a try. You essentially order blended frozen acai (like a smoothie) and have all these toppings you can add in for free (Chipotle-style). I got almond butter, coconut, chia seeds, goji berries, honey, bananas, strawberries, and cacao nibs. And wow it was delicious! The acai itself tasted like a pretty simple berry, but all the add-ins gave it a lot of body, creaminess, flavor, and crunch. Think deep before for you go to the Purple. During an early morning visit, We saw what looked like mouse droppings in the coconut. We notified the workers AND those nescient trifling nasty a$$ chumps just scooped it out, leaving the rest!!!! Ughhhh we've been eating there forever!!! No apologies from the workers... NOTHING! And to boot, they never replaced the food tray. It's disappointing and unsettling because who knows how long this has been going on because they didn't seemed moved by the incident at all. I love açaí bowls and thought I'd give this place a try. Açaí bowls and smoothies were the main things on the menu. To begin with I was disappointed with the fact that there were no "house bowls". You have to select every topping or mix in for your açaí bowl, which gives major frozen yogurt vibes. The only sweetener option is honey, no agave, and the honey is thick, especially because the açaí bowl came very cold. Perhaps one of the most atrocious infractions was that the açaí isn't even served in a bowl. It's served in a cup with a wide lid, which makes it very difficult to eat the açaí with the toppings, even if you take the lid off. I could have forgiven all of the prior shortcomings if the "bowl" had been good, but the honey was in a thick and sticky layer on top of everything and the açaí wasn't that good. It was too cold and too sweet. I normally feel great after having an açaí bowl and can overlook how much I paid for essentially a bowl of fruit, but in this case I couldn't even finish and I felt like I had eaten a dessert for breakfast. $11 not well spent. If you've never had an açaí bowl before you might enjoy this, but please don't think that açaí bowls are anything like this. read more

Walked in hoping to try a acai bowl for the first time, but the moment we went up to order the lady with the phone on loud speaker told us just to scan a QR code and didn't say why. So I shrug and open the QR code but there's no signal in the shop and nothing loads. I then ask if I can order in person with her and she says their card reader is broken so I have to pay online unless I have cash. I had $12 on me and it wasn't enough to cover a 8oz with toppings and the supposed tip I had to give. She then told me to download UberEats and pay that way. At that point I told her nevermind and I left. What ever happened to being able to go into a business, tell the person what you want and being able to swipe a card and receive something? Why does there always have to be a QR code or an app to download, or a technology problem, or an employee who doesn't want to even do their job and looks relieved when you leave empty handed? A ridiculous way to "run" a business, I've never had something like this happen before anywhere I've been. Usually I'm pretty optimistic and understanding, but I was quite astonished at the lack of competancy and customer service. Also, in a digital age such as the one we're living in, having a broken card reader is a one way ticket to bankruptcy, so good luck. read more
