Ruth did such a wonderful job with my haircut and color! Before she started she not only listened to how I described my hair and the end result I was looking to achieve with my haircut, she really looked at my hair to see what I was talking about. For someone who has hair that doesn't neatly fall into a specific category (straight, curly, etc.) that is huge! And the cut she gave me--wow! I've had a few great haircuts over the years, but I think this one is my favorite. My hair is a weird mix of straight, wavy, and curly, and the cut Ruth gave me helps it dry quicker and style easier. Previously, I had never dyed my hair before mainly because I was afraid of my hair getting damaged. But, I was convinced by a couple good friends that there are ways I can still have healthy hair even with dye in it. So coming to Ruth was fairly easy because she really cared about the health of my hair. I had decided to cut my hair short (the length was a little past my shoulders across the collarbone). I have cut my hair short before, but the stylist that did my hair previously did not really care about how it looked after the finished look. Ruth was the complete opposite. After she cut my hair, she asked me if she could put some long bangs so the hair did not look like it weighed on me and I decided to trust her to know what she was doing.... and I was not disappointed! The hair looked even better than it did before. After that, I wasn't completely sure as to what color highlights I wanted to do so she came up with a color she thought would look good on me. It was a light caramel brown color and it went really well considering my hair is dark brown. Ruth is also a great conversationalist! She did my hair for a good 3 hours and it was never awkward. I've gone to places like Supercuts or Fantastic Sam's and the people just did not seem genuine while talking to me, but Ruth truly cared about how life was going for me and it was definitely a fun-filled time I had with her!
