Ok maybe not the shop itself - but definitely the artist. We'd planned to hit the Mew Mexico Tattoo Fiesta and looked at the artists expected to be there and their portfolios. We found Jacob Danhin and liked his work. A quick email with our tattoo ideas sent and appts made. His work? Fantastic! Even with sending him the artwork at the last minute & a couple of needed changes just before he started. Additionally, Jacob's usual medium is greyscale, which was the wife's design. Let me start off with the good. The shop is very clean and nice. My daughter and I came here for the first time as walk ins to get a couple smaller tattoos. I came in for a long stemmed rose on my neck/behind my ear, while my daughter wanted some cursive (grandpas handwriting) on her inner bicep. The two artists that did each of our tattoos deserve 5 stars! Jacob who did my rose, and Freak who did my daughters script. They were friendly and both did an AMAZING job. So I didn't give a 5 star rating for a couple of reasons. First, the person who greeted us when we walked in (who I believe was the owner) wasn't very welcoming and came off a bit cold and monotone. I won't go into detail, but that's just how we felt upon arrival. We were helped right away but the vibe right when we walked in wasn't the greatest. The two artists who did our tattoos as mentioned above, made up for that. Second, been tattooed several times and have been to plenty of other shops. The other tattoo shops I've been to take several forms of payment. Today, cash was the only option. It worked out though, as there was a bank & atm next door. Just feel in todays world, being able to offer other forms of payment would've been nice. Overall it was a great experience getting tattooed by the artists that we got. It's a tough one because I want to support the local shops. But first impressions are everything. We may return in the future. Regardless, appreciate it Jacob, Freak and Deep Seas! read more

Deep Seas tattoo has become a home away from home for me. Ever since the moment I walked in on a random Saturday afternoon, I knew that there was something different about this place. I was first introduced to the shop by my friend kylie who works there & recommended that I see Jesse for the piece that I was interested in. I am kind of a wimp when it comes to pain & he gave me as many breaks as I needed to get thru the session and made me feel so comfortable. He also did my dad's tattoo & now my dad is a returning client! He is a giant teddy bear and so kind. Soon after I started getting tattooed by Kylie. I now have 10+ pieces by her and I will continue to grow my collection. She is so unbelievably professional, kind, talented and absolutely hilarious. She is always down to do the spunkiest designs and is so accommodating. Everywhere I go I am complimented on my tattoos at least 3 times a day. I don't ever see myself feeling the need to go anywhere else! Additionally, I also have a back tattoo by Sydney. She is so sweet & soft spoken and takes her time to make sure everything is exactly how you want it. She is so unbelievably talented and that shows through her work. AMAZING! I've gotten my only two tattoos here, both within the past four months. The first one was done by Freak on September 15th. I had always been afraid the process would be horrifically painful and was pleasantly surprised when I barely even felt this one! It's on my calf and I LOVE it! Fast forward to December 3, when Joey inked my second one on my inner arm. Guess what? The pain was excruciating. I learned this is one of my "tender" areas, needless to say I will not get anymore on my inner arm. I LOVE this one too, it's my daughter and son's birth month flowers. My daughter got a matching flower on the same arm the same night. I will definitely be back for more soon! I just need to figure out what I want next and where! read more

I trusted my second tattoo in the hands of Jacob and went with an idea of having 3 butterflies tattoo around a rose I got almost 20 years ago. Jacob helped me design the butterflies to work around my existing tattoo and I trusted him to choose the colors for each and he did an amazing job! I wish I could give this place more stars. I got my first big piece done here last week, the shop is beyond beautiful. I was super nervous going into it because I had only given Andrea an idea of what I wanted, but when she showed me what she came up with I was blown away. The tattoo that she created was far better than I could have ever imagined and my nerves were calmed instantly. She was super flexible with it, even making small changes when I got in the day of. To start, I don't write Yelp reviews very often, but I felt like I needed to based on the experience I recently had at Deep Seas Tattoo. Unlike most tattoo shops, Deep Seas was very welcoming. It might just be me, but I've found tattoo shops to be quite intimidating. I didn't feel like that at all at Deep Seas. Not only is the location beautiful, but the interior of the shop is stunning. Upon entering the shop, I was immediately greeted by Andrea. Side not, Andrea is the BEST. There's a reason why her bookings close so quickly. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she's personable and honest; I feel like I've known her forever. My friend and I had an appointment to get a tattoo but they did not take anyone who doesn't have a driver's license. They then told us that a passport would work so we went back home to get our passeports and when we came back 45 minutes later (after we specifically said that we were coming back) the tattoo artist had left for the day and we did not get our tattoos.
