The first time we stopped, it was late afternoon. We hadn't eaten lunch and were looking for something to tide us over. We loved the food but we weren't sure if the dogs were really that good or we were just super hungry. Today, we went back for lunch. OMG. These really are the best hot dogs. What makes them so good? First of all, the snap. When you bite into a Deepwater dog you get that classic hot dog snap followed by very tasty meat inside. Second, the combinations. My wife had chili dogs (no beans) both times and loved them. I had a Reuben dog (both times) and today added a Southern dog. Both were fabulous. The Cole slaw and bbq sauce made the Southern dog sing! Finally, the service. Two different young ladies taking orders on our two visits but both were sweet, friendly and helpful. And the owner/chef takes pride in his work and was genuinely happy when we were happy. This is a fabulous little gem on the rail trail at the top of Underpass Rd. Yeah, I know, we shouldn't eat hot dogs every week but Deepwater Dogs are hard to resist. read more

An exceptional lunch was had at Deepwater Dogs today. The quality of the food itself is basically unmatched, and we tried four different dogs to get full service here. They have such an expansive taste it's hard to believe what you're eating is NOT just incredible, truly it is something else. The fresh brioche buns, the best quality toppings you could ask for really make these dogs unbelievable. I had a Chicago Primitive and The Southern. My mother went with the Chili Dog and the American BBQ. The area the truck was parked was right next to the trail in Brewster and wow there were so many biking at noon on a Thursday it was quite busy. read more

After the morning grocery shopping was done and put away, we headed to Deepwater Dogs for a bite to eat before doing a bike-trail walk. We both got the Italian sausage with peppers and onions, which was tasty and filling. A great deal for $9 each. We opted to sit in our car to eat as the traffic on the bike trail next to the tables was very heavy. We took our time enjoying the sausage and then did a 2.62 mile walk on the bike trail and a pretty good clip. Lots of people enjoying the trail today. read more

It's quite easy to miss, located near a section of the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Basically a souped up hot dog stand. The chef butters and toasts the bun, boils those bad boys first, and then finishes them on his George Forman. The result is a dog with less fat and some crunch. Very nice fixings including sauerkraut and celery seed. A less expensive, informal and quick meal. Worth a try. read more

If you're out on the Cape Cod Rail Trail or just going by Brewster you DO NOT want to miss getting a hot dog from Deepwater Dogs. The Dogs we had were awesome...We both chose the Chicago Primitive(I added a little sauerkraut), from the bun to the condiments everything was fresh and flavorful..Being from Texas we don't get in the area to often, but in the future when we do we will definitely stop by Brewster to get a Dog. read more

I had a wonderful after work snack the other day as I was driving through Brewster. I stopped here at Deepwater dogs to see an extremely friendly owner and an excellent worker. I ordered the Southern which I recommend to anyone. The variety of tastes that entered my mouth upon the first bite made it unequivocally the best hot dog I have ever had. I saw the owner intrigued to ask how it was but by the time the words could leave his mouth I had already finished the dog and he was astonished. I think it was a 3 bite hit dog for me because of how hungry I was and how good it tasted. My favorite part was that I didn't need to eat 3 or 4 hot dogs to be full. One was just enough for me. Price point here is definitely below average so you will find yourself with a good deal. With that being said there is no lack in quality of these hotdogs or customer service. Truly an OUTSTANDING place and I hope everyone can go check it out. But if not, more deepwater dogs for me! read more

Decent hot dog and the buns used are better than an average hot dog bun. For the germ freaks, the gloves he wears are for show only, as he touched everything from the buns, to his face, to things in his vehicle, to everyone's cash, etc. I've seen much cleaner roadside operations in that regard. read more
