I called to request a flower arrangement on a Tuesday for a Saturday funeral service. Sadly and unfortunately I would not be able to attend the service. I asked for a wild flower arrangement that felt manly but beautiful and not in a vase maybe a basket. I spoke to a very nice man who said "I got you". I had asked for possibly a photo but he very kindly said I'm sorry I cannot promise that. No photo which was understandable I just had to trust it. I got a call from a family member that said how beautiful the arrangement was and even asked if they were real. I told them what I asked for and she said they nailed it and they were perfect. I've ordered 2 times from them now. Both times I picked out an arrangement from their website, and I picked them up in the store since they are so close to my home. One for a birthday, and one for someone in the hospital. Each arrangement was beautiful! The flowers were fresh, and smelled amazing. I received so many compliments from strangers when they saw me carrying them. Everybody wanted to know where these beautiful flowers came from. I was pleased to tell them. I live in Chicago, and on November 10th I ordered flowers to be delivered on my best friend's birthday (December 1st) to her in Jacksonville. Price was reasonable and she said the flowers were gorgeous. HOWEVER (and this is a big however), they delivered them on November 11th - the day after I placed my order and 3 weeks before her birthday. I called and complained, and they admitted to the blatant mistake and apologized (simply said that someone "jumped the gun" on the date). They said they would send her another arrangement on her actual birthday. I'm glad they at least did that, but I couldn't write a new card to her (so she'll get the same arrangement and same card twice) and the magic and surprise is now gone for her birthday. I am still considering just calling and asking for a refund instead of a second order. read more

The mother of all follow-ups So, like 5 minutes after my previous review, I get a call from Deerwood Florist, coinky dink? Me thinks not. Anyhoo, the guy tells me that he's sorry, they ran out of those flowers yesterday, would you like me to remake it and send it again? I say sure, after all, my wife will be tickled, flowers two days in a row? I'm starting to think, heck, maybe I'll just send her flowers every day this week, wouldn't that be a kick? He says, "does she have the first flowers at her office?" I said yes, and I'm thinking, omg, he's going to TAKE THEM BACK? Whatever. They send over new flowers, but they are almost the same as the first set, just changed out purple for red. But, my wife IS tickled, and they didn't pick up the first set. She's all, "OMG my office is full of beautiful flowers from my love!" She had no idea that they were because my order was not filled properly. I'm thinking, "Those fools, what was the point of remaking my order WRONG twice?" Third day, they, DEERWOOD FLORIST, send someone to pick up the first set of flowers! But, my wife doesn't understand what the receptionist is trying to tell her, and tells the receptionist to turn them away. My wife is a national director for a major corporation, and is VERY busy right now, hardly has time to accept flowers, stays up till 11 every night doing her job. Her floor her office is on is secure, so it's kinda hard to get to. "I'm here to deliver flowers" is easy, "I'm here to pick up a vase or container" is strange. The florist calls me, says he charging me $15 more for the vase from the first set. He then proceeds to tell me that my wife is dodgy and shady!! I said, I don't care about $15, but I can't believe what's coming out of your mouth. Talk about flowers gone bad. Unbelievable. read more

Ok, so I now need to repost about deerwood florist. I was very upset about the missing Valentines day when I ordered in advance. They refunded me in full for what I spent and when I got home today there was a huge Bouquet of red roses from them. My girlfriend was estatic about the bouquet. The manager of the shop, Derek, called my girlfriend and appologized for what happened, then personally delivered the bouquet....free of charge. Do not waste your money at this florist!! I spent $46.00 to have flowers delivered to my mother for her Christmas dinner table. When they arrived they looked nothing like the picture online. There were 3 carnations, 3 mums and a lot of pine needles. When I called and spoke to the owner he promised to send a new arrangement the next day, it never arrived! This is the first Christmas in 25 years that my Mom won't have a fresh floral arrangement. This place is a scam!! read more

I ordered the deal of the day bouquet for my boyfriend. I wasn't looking for anything flashy as it was a 'just because' occasion. I just went out on a limb and found these guys online and thought the price was right. Well, you get what you pay for! The flowers were okay...mostly just white daisies with a few yellow carnations thrown in. He got the flowers delivered to his work before he left which is awesome, no complaints on timing. However, when I got home in the evening and saw the arrangement I just wished that I had gone with a pricier competitor. Some of the flowers were already wilted! It's two days later now and half of the flowers already look dead. As this was the 'deal of the day' I guess that means that they use up the flowers that are about to be on their way to the trash. I'm not impressed and will most likely not be ordering from this florist again. read more

Awful Florist, cheap flowers, untrustworthy, terrible customer service. I have order from the shop a few times with moderate success, but never again. Delivery is rarely on time, drivers will say delivery was attempted, but they do not show up. Still waiting on a refund. read more
