Awesome experience! This is definitely a super fun place for a meal. Love the 50's theme! We were able to seat ourselves. As soon as we sat down, a server came to the table with utensils, menus and took our drink order. You will want to save room for dessert here. They have custom banana splits. Everything we ordered was freshly prepared and tasted delicious! Food was seasoned just right. The meat was very tender! They have all you can eat specials, which we didn't do because we wanted to save room for desserts. Even though there is an ice cream menu, everything can be customized. Staff was very attentive, friendly, helpful and worked hard to make sure everyone's orders were just right! Looking forward to eating here again soon!

I have to say we probably won't be returning here. The service was fine and the waitress was lovely. The tables were clean as well. Loved the 50's and 60's music playing as well. The food however was disappointing. My mother and father got patty melts and I got the western burger. When we first took our bites we noticed the texture of the meat was off and it had these holes in them. My dad noted they were probably tenderized. Then I noticed a few spots of mold on the bun. The pecan pie was good but I'm not sure if it was homemade. This may be one of those places you only go for breakfast but we're not going to take that chance. Either way, stay away from lunch.

Fred's Diner is a sparkling diamond of a place that so many locals I mentioned it to were still…read moreunaware of. That's mostly due to location. It's less than a 10 minute drive from downtown Akron but it's off the beaten path. All locals (except me) in here. When I went (10AM Friday) the place was almost full, and I was dining alone, so I sat at the counter, happily next to the kitchen. To look at the kitchen was like looking inside a bee hive, bustling with activity but barely a sound. I could just make out what was being calmly stated "2 Silver Dollar, Salmon, Country Fried, 2 Over Easy..." It was fun to watch, but what was important was the output. It took just over 6 minutes from the time I order until it was sitting in front of me, and everything was perfect! The waitresses were so efficient. I saw my order hit the window and in about 12 seconds it was delivered. They were so customer focused, they were (jokingly) fighting over refilling my tea. When I was done and paid for I waited outside for Uber to pick me up (3 min). I looked back on what I'd just experienced, and snapped a picture of the two parking lots of cars for Fred's Diner. I counted and there were 32 cars at Fred's. OK maybe 10 were staff so 22 cars for customers, let's say on average there were 2 customers per car (remember I walked here so no car for me). By my calculation, Fred's was feeding 44 people every 30 minutes or so. No wonder they're only open 4 days a week and only for breakfast - lunch. I calculate they might serve 3200 meals in those 4 days, and then take 3 days off to get ready for the next week. I love this place. Wish I lived here so I could come more often.

I particularly appreciate that they use real potatoes for their hashbrowns, not the frozen/freeze dried crap most places serve up these days. The service was great, coffee was strong, and our bellies are fullllll.

I'll definitely continue going back! Tip: They get busy on the weekend, so just be prepared that you may need to wait. Well my wife and I stopped into this cute little dinner in Bolivar, OHIO. Boy was this the best…read moredecision we had made in awhile. Cute little place with such warmth and friendliness. I had the Lemon Pepper Shrimp special and I loved every bite, also had green beans and Mac & cheese, great choice for sure. Beans were not over salty and the Mac & cheese was the best I have had in a while. Not overly cheesy as some are. My wife had the spaghetti with meatballs two large homemade type. She loved it and I was fortunate to finish it off. She also had a salad with freshly made ranch dressing. The she had the sugar free butter pecan ice cream which was to die for. The two waitresses are the bomb so very attentive and helpful always giving great suggestions. If you are near this town drive the extra distance to come here. Well worth the drive. They also take reservations on Thursday and Friday. Can you imagine that a dinner taking reservations. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED COMING HERE
