What is there to say about this greater Nashville staple? Dee's is always affordable (my brew was only $3 on a Friday night) the live music is more than just country (I'm a big fan of their jazz nights) and the employees are some of the kindest in the city. Their cocktail menu is extensive and you never know what new frozen bev they have brewing so stop in asap! If you're looking for a local spot with great live music, locals to chat with and delicious (and affordable drinks) you know where to go. I'll see you there!

Madison, TN. I suppose if you live in Nashville you just get numb to all the great musicians playing around town. Tonight (Monday) it was Bronwyn Keith Hynes, fiddle player extraordinaire. Winner of a Grammy accompanying Mollie Tuttle, I've been following her music for a while now. So we get there early, pay our $10 cover and we could sit or stand anywhere, it was not crowded at all, and we got to see her close up. The sound system wasn't too bad for a bar, there were only a few glitches. All of the players in her band were top notch, all professionals who have been around. Sure was a rare treat, it was a splendid night of music, and I loved hearing her play her own stuff! Bonus: There is ice water! Easy parking, I didn't park in the lot, I just pulled along the road across the street.

I enjoyed The Davidson County String Band at Dee's Country Cocktail Lounge the other night. These ladies were absolutely amazing! I haven't heard female vocal harmonies this good since Emmy Lou, Dolly, and Linda made Trio. Such a tight band! Special kudos to the fiddler. The food selection here is limited-- I had a smoked baloney sandwich which was fine. The beer selection is much better. There is a pool table here but no one was playing. The parking was a little tight out front-- not sure where the overflow parking is. The sound system was impressive! Thank you, Dee's in Nashville for dishing up great music!

Loved Dee's! It was close to where we were staying so we checked it out, and I'm glad we did. It's a great bar and Nicki Bluhm was playing. We didn't know who that was, but we really enjoyed her set (as well as the band before). She packed the house and the place had a great atmosphere. Cover was totally reasonable and leaves you with enough to show the bands some love.

Fabulous dive bar! Pics of the national treasure Dolly Parton all around. Cheap beer, live music, and friendly staff. Bartender Masha is awesome. Come on by weather you are a tourist or a local.

The service and atmosphere was great. I love these dive bars! Definitely will be visiting this place again soon. If you're looking for a place to have a drink and relax, this is the place.

In the spirit of getting out and making an effort to explore my new city I decided to find a place to go and enjoy a solo date night and grab a fancy drink. You know the vibes a Carrie Bradshaw moment but make it Nashville style. I found this place via instagram and read all the great reviews and decided to get out and try it. A cozy place tucked and hidden in the heart of east Nashville. It is somewhat hidden with a small parking area but I was fortunate enough to get parking right in front. I walked in and the decor is pops of red and black mixed with gold. The light is dim so it's a perfect date night spot or place to meet and have an intimate small group gathering. It wasn't busy and I enjoyed that there wasn't too many people. The vibes are relaxed and I was greeted right away. Checking out the menu I decided on a spicy margarita concoction with tajin. The bartender brought it out and it was the perfect blend of flavor, spice and alcohol. It was refreshing and sweet/spicy. Perfect. This place is the perfect solo date night spot or date spot with your special someone or catch up sessions with friends. I enjoyed sitting, sipping and writing this review. Solo dates can be daunting and being in a new city can be daunting as well but finding hidden gems like this make it worth while. There's a quote that I love and that's "if you never go you'll never know." Don't let this be a place youll never know... head to your date with this place. Head to Amsterdamian.

The house Kratom has to be an acquired taste as I definitely am not used to the bitterness even with all the plant protein powders I take. A destination restaurant hiding inside a destination resort…read more When people think of the Gaylord Opryland, they usually think of the stunning indoor gardens, waterfalls, and sprawling atriums. What they may not realize is that tucked inside this incredible resort is one of the finest old-school steakhouses in Nashville. Old Hickory Steakhouse exceeded every expectation. A group of us settled in for what turned into a leisurely four-and-a-half-hour dinner, and honestly, it never felt rushed. It was the kind of evening where conversation flowed, wine glasses stayed full, and every course gave us another reason to linger a little longer. The dining room has timeless steakhouse elegance. Crisp white tablecloths, attentive but unobtrusive service, and gorgeous views overlooking the resort's indoor gardens make it feel like you're dining in a hidden oasis rather than inside a convention hotel. And then there's the food... We ordered enough to experience nearly every corner of the menu. The bone-in ribeye was beautifully marbled with a deeply caramelized crust and that rich, buttery flavor ribeye lovers chase. The tomahawk was every bit the showstopper. Perfectly aged, sliced for sharing, incredibly tender, and cooked to a gorgeous medium-rare. It was one of those centerpieces that makes everyone at neighboring tables stop and look. The double-cut pork chop deserves its own applause. Thick, juicy, perfectly grilled, with just enough char to add smoky depth while staying remarkably moist. The filet was everything a filet should be--fork tender with an elegant sear. The scallops were another standout. Beautifully caramelized with a golden crust while remaining silky and sweet inside. They disappeared almost immediately. We also shared the steak tartare, which was expertly prepared and beautifully balanced, followed by an artisan cheese selection that made a wonderful transition before dessert. The sides easily hold their own. The lobster mac and cheese was unapologetically rich and creamy. The loaded baked potato arrived overflowing with all the classic steakhouse indulgence. The French onion soup was deeply savory beneath its bubbling blanket of beautifully browned cheese. Even the Caesar salad impressed, served with crisp whole romaine leaves generously dressed and finished with plenty of Parmesan. Fresh warm rolls with whipped butter started the evening exactly the way every great steakhouse should. Dessert somehow found room despite all of that. The coconut cake was enormous, impossibly moist, layered with coconut, and paired with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. It's absolutely meant for sharing, although you may not want to. Service throughout the evening was polished, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced. No one hurried us despite the length of our dinner, and every course arrived with impeccable timing. Yes, it's a splurge. But restaurants like this aren't simply about eating dinner. They're about slowing down, celebrating, sharing stories, and remembering why classic steakhouses have endured for generations. If you're staying at the Gaylord Opryland, don't make the mistake of leaving the resort for dinner. One of Nashville's best dining experiences may already be waiting just steps from your room. Life is simply too short not to eat well and travel well. Old Hickory Steakhouse lets you do both.

We chose to go to The Library, which is located within The Old Hickory Steakhouse, simply because we liked the name -- we figured a bar called The Library would be quiet and chill, and it was. All the cocktails had literary names and puns, such as Life of Chai, Gift of a Magi, and Treasure Island. I ordered Fahrenheit 451 (Old Hickory bourbon, raw sugar, Regan's orange bitters, and cherrywood smoke -- they actually set the drink on fire so it would smoke), and my sister had Great Expectations (Zephyr gin, Italicus, lemon, pomegranete, simple syrup, and Zardetto Prosecco). We really enjoyed our drinks, and despite being pricy (drinks ranged from $15 to $18, which, while not cheap, is not higher than most places), we would liked to have stayed for another one, but unfortunately we only had time for one round.
