My friends and I are visiting Hawaii and wanted to try some dessert so we stumbled upon this place. This dessert cart had basically fried mochi balls with different flavor syrups which was pretty different. The textures are very crunchy and the inside was very soft. The syrup were a little bit lackluster however I enjoyed the condensed milk the best. the service is pretty quick and the owner is really nice. She explained all the options of sweets because we were new to the cuisine.

This spot is a bit hidden near the airport, tucked among a bunch of food stalls. I stopped by on my way to catch a flight and honestly wish I'd found this area sooner. The food I'd been having beforehand was pretty heavy, so it was such a relief to enjoy something light and delicious. The mochi was chewy and full of flavor, and the dipping sauces were heavenly. I'd definitely come back and check out the other food trucks too.

So I've driven past the Maika'i Market a couple of times now & finally designated a time to stop. Which I'm so glad we did, their set up is hella cute. Plus I'm always a fan of trying out new locations. Food trucks are always packed with some amazing flavors & you'll get to run into some of the coolest people. So thank you to everyone who helped contribute to my mini spur of the moment photo shoot. Not only did I enjoy all my goodies that I picked up on my first trip here. But I also enjoy being able to share these moments with others who might not have known this was here either. Dee's Poi Mochi had my Ube fix times two, Ube mochi with Ube sauce to dip in. The only way I can describe it is pure happiness. I just love the gooey texture of biting into the mochi. Plus that drip when you dip into the sauce it even has a shine to it. If I could make a request on something I'd like to try that isn't currently on the menu it would be matcha mochi & matcha dipping sauce. Until next time. XOXO, ChelsieFletcher

Interesting - worth checking out. Poi Mochi are little round fried dough balls made from poi and rice flour. You dip them in a sweet glaze. Dessert item - but not overly sweet. Local business

One of the most unique desserts I've had in a long time! I've tried so many donuts, mochi donuts etc.. Worth a visit for sure!

Even the hot day when I was visiting Maui but love to have mochi and found this place. Many options for the dipping sauce, got original coconut and caramel flavored both of them were delicious. The service was excellent and friendly. Fresh made by order so have to wait a little bit but worth the wait. Crispy outside and soft inside. Perfect texture and delicious. Recommend to try strawberry flavor, it was amazing. Nice food truck area with the table and shades.

Their signature Poi Mochi was amazing to have, and all of their choices to use for dipping with it are just as flavorful - a must-have if you catch them at an event or the Sunday Night Market - Miguel Morales Photography

Super friendly lady! We did the 8 pc (ube, strawberry and poi) and an order of the fried twinkies. I would say the ube is a sure choice. The strawberry just tasted like it was strawberry candy instead of fruit strawberry. The poi was the first time I tried poi... figured fried has to be the way! It wasn't bad!

I went to visit Maui and this place was recommended by a friend so I decided to try this out. It is a food truck located by a gas station plaza and this place has a few tables so I was able to sit down and enjoy these mochis. The owner was so so sweet and explained the menu to me without even asking!! I'm so glad I did try this place because Ohohohoh this place is so good! I never had deep fried mochi until I tried this place. This is a hole in the wall spot and it was so fire! All mochis are made to order so it was hot and fresh when I got my order. I have tried all 4 flavors (Strawberry, Ube, Poi and Chocolate Brownie), and my personal favorite was the strawberry flavored! I suggest getting a guava sauce on the side because that sauce tasted sooo good w the mochis!!!! Card payment is accepted~

Deep fried strawberry pb&j and the poi mochi, don't forget the sauce (not pictured)! lol

Okay first off, I wish I took a picture of the truck.. they're covered in cute stickers and trinkets! The lady greeted us so kindly, gave us some information on the food and not one lie was told. She told us the sauces go with every flavor of mochi and omg it was so good! We got all the flavors of mochi (poi, strawberry and ube) along with the caramel sauce and pog sauce. They were all so good that it made me forget about the deep fried pb&j I got lol definitely will be back!!

DELICIOUS!!! All of the mochi is made to order so everything is super fresh. Ordered poi, ube, lychee mochi with white chocolate coconut, POG, and ube sauce - all of it was amazing. Definitely check this place out if you're in town!

Deep fried Oreos so good. Can never go wrong with that. The mochi was also tasty! The I've mochi actually didn't have much flavor to it but the dipping sauce provided the flavor. Nice little snack to share.

I tried poi mochi for the first time at the Maui County Fair a.k.a. Maui Fair years ago and always made sure to stop by the booth even if it means waiting in a 45 minute line. So when I saw that I could get poi mochi from Dee's, I kept checking their IG and even tried looking for them in Lahaina to no avail two years ago. I was determined to track them down this year at the Maui Sunday Market. No line since we were there so early so we got a dozen, half poi and half ube with the POG and guava sauce. The poi mochi on its own didn't quite measure up to the ones at the fair, which are great and addictive on its own, while this one needed that dipping sauce. Overall, it's still great having Dee's to satisfy our cravings especially since the fair had been cancelled these two years.

Dee's Little purple stand! So cute and great music and vibes

Or have a car full of luggage from your flight to Maui since it's just down the way from OGG airport. Malasadas put donuts to shame!!! ESPECIALLY if you like gooey fillings & toppings. My favorite ones are around Christmas but they have tons of regular fillings. I can never get less than three because I can't pass up my chance to try new ones. They have wonderful staff... especially the manager Sabrina...really know their way around dough and they do not scrimp on the Malasadas itself or the fillings! I had the peach cobbler warmed up and a la mode, and it was delicious. Crumble toppings on pie are my absolute favorite, that buttery, crumbly goodness you wish would never end. Hubby had the key lime pie a la mode, and it was the perfect balance of creamy sweetness and tart, but not too tart. Both slices came with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, which is the only way to do it. The service was friendly, too. The indoor seating was full, so we sat outside, which turned out to be lovely for people watching and enjoying the fresh air. If you have a sweet tooth and appreciate a proper slice of pie, Maui Pie is worth the trip. Highly recommend, and I'll see you there for more peach cobbler!

My mom politely asked if they had any sugar-free pies available. The girl at the register stated " you need to ask for those a day in advance". So my mom asked if she could place an order now to pick up one tomorrow. The girl then looked up from the register with an annoyed look on her face and said, verbatim, " does it look like I'm the head baker? I only work the register. You need to leave the store and call us to order". We all looked at each other shocked. That was the most rude response I've heard in a while... like we are supposed to know who specifically ask to order a sugar free pie ... ... just a wild situation for such a fun place with great tasting pies. The good: - blackberry mango was probably my favorite pie - peach cobbler a close second place - loved the mountain berry as well The bad: - the girl working the register - you want a sugar free pie? Make sure to NEVER ask in person. You have to call in. - And they only offer whole pies and not slices for sugar free pies The verdict: - minus 2 stars for the rude girl who yelled at my mom - minus 1 star for only having whole pies and not slices for sugar free pies, even though they only have 3 flavors to choose from... Such a shame to have people like that working at a place that serves such a good product.
