When in Rome...err MAUI, you know what needs to be done. A sweet literally and figuratively to stop while on the road to Hanna. We made the quick stop to grab Aunty Sandy's iconic banana breads. Purchased two and it did not disappoint! It was delicious and was sold to us warm! Service while there was chill, orderly and easy. Iconic for location and offering yes, the taste a solid "yummy".

This place is absolutely magical and a must visit! The best banana bread I've ever had and so worth the journey on the road to Hana. This bread is perfect and you will need to buy at least two. The service is awesome and the location is beautiful with amazing views of the ocean down the road. The chili and rice was delicious and I would recommend trying it too.

You have to stop for the banana bread and other goodies, but if they're sold out (which they do if you don't get there early) don't worry! See if they have their chili dogs and get one! You won't be sorry! Everything here is good. The girls working are always super cool and friendly. Go support this locally owned family business.

I ordered banana bread and a coffee. And I must say, this place deserves all the hype. The banana bread was absolutely delicious, perfectly moist and flavorfu, and paired so well with the coffee. Aunty Sandy's is a must-stop when you're doing the Road to Hana.

A bit of a line but well worth it. When they say fresh, they mean fresh it was HOT out the oven. $10 per loaf and I highly recommend the whipped butter with it. Their TikTok was also very helpful in finding the turn.

Was pretty skeptical that this banana bread would top the other banana breads I had tried on this trip, but man, this takes first place. Once you reach this stop on your Road to Hana tour, make sure you get one ($10). The loaf is served warm, and man, it is good. You can't, or aren't supposed to, eat it there since there is a sign saying this place is grab-and-go only, so we ate it in the car on our way to the next stop. Between the two of us, it was basically more than half gone. It is not too sweet (in a good way), airy, light, and just really good homemade banana bread. The cashier was really nice and service was really fast. Since it is on the peninsula, the drive is also beautiful with waves crashing into the rocks.

Wow! Warm delicious banana bread! Don't be afraid of a line it's worth the wait. The staff was so nice l. We sat at one of the tables and ate our food. Parking can be hard but just wait for a spot and one will open quickly.

This is one of those stops on the Road to Hana that is legendary and a must stop. We arrived at noon and unfortunately they were out of banana bread, which is what they are famous for. I did grab the Kalua pig sandwich as I was starving and I forgot to take a picture. The bun was soft and the meat was tasty. At $9, it was not a bad deal. Please come and create your own adventure.

Of all the food stalls and stands to stop at on the Road to Hana, this one is the most recommended for a good reason: they do a dang good banana bread that makes you question if you'll ever have banana bread this good again! Coming here on a Tuesday morning, there was only a handful of other people parked and no line waiting to get the bread. However, it can definitely fill up and be crowded during busier times, so plan accordingly and bring your patience! There's no seating area- it's all to-go. The staff is super chill and attentive, and you get your order quickly. I got a loaf of the banana bread. For $10, given the heft and size of it, it was a great value. The bread was super moist and just perfectly sweet without being too unbearably sweet. It was warm and super soft as well. Bite after bite, you can taste the cinnamon and vanilla working their magic with the banana to give bite after bite of warm bready goodness. Be sure to eat it soon after you get it, as it will get cold pretty quickly after. Overall, this place is definitely worth the stop! The remaining Keanae Peninsula is a bonus, with breathtaking ocean views while you hang and enjoy some amazing banana bread.

Aunty Sandy's is a family-owned business near the Keanae Peninsula in Maui. It's conveniently located just off the Road to Hana near mile 18. It's near the Keanae Lookout at a small walk-up window with a few parking spots. We stopped by for their famous freshly baked banana bread ($9.55) which was warm when it came out. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was flavorful, not too sweet, and not too banana-y. We also ordered the kalua pork sandwich which looked simple but was juicy and soft. It honestly didn't look that appetizing but it actually had a decent amount of flavor. I didn't know what to expect when coming here but I was impressed and surprised by how good the food was. Maybe I was hungry after a long drive but it was a good snack. Note that they're closed on Sundays and they close at 2:30pm so ensure you get there before they close. You'll be missing out on some delicious banana bread!

We stopped here on the Road to Hana and it was in a beautiful location and came at just the right time when we were all hungry. We got a pulled pork sandwich and banana bread. Our group actually got the last piece of banana bread! We got there around 1:00pm. The sandwich was good and the banana bread was big and served warm! We enjoyed eating our food and watching the waves. FYI there are no bathrooms here so plan accordingly.

Warm fresh banana bread yes. Was it anything out of this world? No. $10 for a loaf but can be Shared. Personally don't understand the hype but wished there were walnuts inside for texture. Very popular spot on the road to Hana. No place to sit tho. It was a grab and go place and seemed to be continuously busy. Other than that, beautiful vibes and atmosphere

Okay, I get the hype!! This banana bread tastes like it was just baked at home.. super fresh, warm, moist, & dense in the best way. It's nothing crazy or over-the-top, but that's what makes it special. Simple, classic, & comforting! I wouldn't say it's life-changing or anything "brand new", so don't expect too much? But it's def a perfect sweet treat while driving the Road to Hāna. Worth the stop if you're passing by! *btw no public restrooms here okay, it's just a small little bake stand!

Can anyone confirm their current shop hours? I heard they are closed Sundays, but the hours posted here on Yelp doesn't note that.

    closed on sunday

    Do you take card payments?

    Yes :)

What time of day is the line the longest wait? If I arrive when they open at 8am, how long will the line be? thanks

Not very long. Most people are there between 10am and 2pm.

Does anyone know of you can have this shipped to you?

Yes! They ship now! See their website for more details.

Are they open on Labor Day?

Are they open on Thanksgiving day?

I highly doubt it. Long drive to find out that they're not. Had the bread 2 weeks ago.

Near the airport and beach access, this is a tourist favorite, although a fair amount of locals have been spotted here. I judge a bakery cafe on their croissant. And Momona's is on point. Fluffy inside, crispy shell and buttery goodness. The second test is their espresso. They use a mass produced bean, but the taste was ok. Has room for improvement here, but I doubt they are marketing to coffee snobs given the volume of patrons getting sweets and lunch fare. The space is beautifully decorated inside an old bank, complete with a vintage vault. Since we arrived late, pastry options were limited. The ham and cheese tart (flaky), brownie (dense/decadent), and coconut slice (chewy) were great. The coconut roll, however, lacked flavor (skip it). Croissant breakfast sandwich & mortadella sandwich were good. The main disappointment was the salmon toast. It looked beautiful and was a large portion, but the two extra poached eggs I ordered were completely hard-poached. When I brought this up, the woman behind the counter flippantly told me, "Yes, this is how we make them." Poached eggs should ALWAYS have a runny yolk & I didn't believe her answer for a second. Clearly they made a mistake they did not want to own up to. I was highly disappointed by her attitude, especially since I paid extra for the eggs.

I know every place and person will claim they have the best recipe out there, but this was actually so delicious! The texture was moist and fluffy, and the banana flavor was perfect without being too sweet. I had a whole loaf by myself traveling along the Road to Hana without even realizing it! And for it to be nut-free and sugar-free was really impressive to me. While here, I also grabbed a mango smoothie, which wasn't too special - though it wasn't mango season, so I don't blame them - and a couple of Island Dream Bars. If you're an Almond Joy fan, then I highly recommend the Island Dream Bar; it felt like a homemade, better version of an Almond Joy with macadamia nuts, coconut flakes, and chocolate baked into a cookie bar.
