    Eggplant wrap with avocado
    Courtney S.

I love the eggplant wrap with avocado! I work in the area so I come here often. The owners are very nice people and everything on their menu I've tried is good. It's a really nice healthy filling wrap. 10/10 would recommend

I cannot have dairy and my son cannot have gluten. This place is great to accommodate both! They can do a gluten free and dairy free crepe with coconut. I ordered a single matcha latte (this is vegan). Amazing hospitality! Arigato Gozaimasu!!!

    Mango crepe and iced matcha

SO yummy!! As a celiac having crepes is a very special treat, and this absolutely hit the spot! The mango was SO fresh and the cream wasn't too sweet! Matcha was delicious! Highly recommend Something Great and very sad we only discovered it on our last day here.

As an Orange County local who loves supporting small, LA-based chefs wherever I travel, finding this Japanese vegan, gluten-free gem in Kihei felt extra special. You can tell right away that there's so much intention behind everything here -- the team is incredibly polite, the space feels clean and welcoming, and the food is thoughtfully prepared with high-quality ingredients that leave you feeling light and nourished instead of weighed down. The portions come out small, but don't be fooled -- they're surprisingly filling. Everything tastes fresh and handmade, especially the sauces, which you can tell aren't shortcuts or things you could easily recreate at home. That level of care makes the experience feel truly authentic and unique. Their matcha latte is one of the cleanest I've had -- smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet. It perfectly matches the overall vibe: simple, health-conscious, and intentionally crafted. It's rare to find an authentic Japanese vegan spot that is also fully gluten-free, especially one that clearly handmakes so much from scratch. In many of my favorite travel destinations -- SF, Oahu, San Diego -- there's always that one standout clean, gluten-free Japanese place. This is Maui's version of that hidden gem. You can tell the owners are part of the modern, health-forward movement -- the kind of small business that sells out at farmers markets because people trust the quality. After the Lahaina fires in 2023, supporting small local businesses feels more important than ever. Places like this deserve to thrive. If you're in Kihei, this spot is too good not to share. A true hidden gem that feels like a nod in the right direction for where food culture is heading -- cleaner, kinder, and more intentional.

Our third time here and it keeps getting better. Maybe the best bites on Maui. So fresh. So healthy. So unique. The savory crepes might be our favorite thing. Period. Don't sleep on this tiny spot

Single shot iced hochija and matcha latte

Such a cute little shop! My daughter and I are vegetarians, we came here wanting to try their plant based bento. We got the matsu and ume bento, both were delicious and with so much flavor! We also got single shot iced hojicha latte and matcha latte...WOW! Both were amazing! The hojicha latte is my favorite, excellent flavor and more of a unique find. The owners are super nice. They get their matcha from Japan. We can't wait to try their crepes next!

I absolutely love this place! 100% gluten free and vegetarian. All food was great and the workers are so friendly. The crepes are sooo yummy. They just opened in October. Portions are a little small for the price but the quality makes it worth it

This is a hidden gem, especially if you're looking for vegan food in Kihei! It's also gluten-free. Everyone needs to try this place, they put such love into their food and you feel so good after eating. Everything on the menu is delicious so you can't go wrong. Don't skip the Cone Salad, it's unlike anything you've ever tried. It's mainly savory but the Japanese sweet potatoes and the cone make it slightly sweet so it's the perfect combo. There is no seating inside, but don't let that stop you from eating here. There are a couple of benches outside or you could take your food across the street and have a picnic while looking at the beautiful ocean. This food is seriously the best!

Yuko and Rio put a lot of love into their very special culinary creations that are simultaneously delicious and healthful. Their food is so ono that some people might be surprised by how healthful it also happens to be. Don't think of it as "health food". Rather, it is super delicious food that happens to be very well priced and very good for you. Today, I had a wonderfully refreshing matcha iced tea on this very hot afternoon. It was perfect! I've eaten so many of their wonderful offerings from the crepes to mochi (coconut and coffee - each amazing!) and cones to soup. This place is truly Something Great Hawaii!

This cafe is appropriately named! Gluten free, vegetarian savory and sweet crepes are DELICIOUS. So are the bento bowls! Their coffee jelly is a delight. I've liked everything I've tried and I'm excited to eat my way through the menu. If you need something great to eat, home here!

Mochi and Curry was so yammy!

They make unique Japanese menus with great Hawaiian and healthy real foods. So delicious! I had mochi and curry today. It was so good. Nice and spicy if you like spicy food! I head they blend spices on their own recipe. Must try!

SOO GOOD& refreshing!!! Service was amazing! Matcha is yummy! Workers were very kind !

    Inside maitaki crepe

It was our very first time visiting. We discovered it on a Monday when we were in Kihei. Needing gluten-free options. This felt like a wonderful discovery as the entire restaurant is GF.! We made a special trip to return for lunch. The trip was well worth it! The crêpes are lovely and thin. Our favorite was the roasted Maitake mushroom crêpe. We also enjoyed the eggplant and Tempe crêpe and cheese crêpe. All of them were good, but the Maitake mushroom was spectacular! Not quite done enjoying their wonderful Options, we shared a strawberry and chocolate dessert crêpe. The strawberries were wonderfully sweet and island grown in Kula. Chunks of chocolate and real whipped cream (vegan whipped cream was also an option.) made it a delightful end to a great meal. The owners are so kind and pleasant. While we waited for our dessert crêpe, we were also given samples of their homemade kombucha, one from root beer and the other from Chaga mushrooms. Bring your own container if you want to take some of the kombucha home. For sure we will do that next time! If you're in Kihei, or need gluten-free/vegetarian options, please visit this lovely place. They are near Lava Coffee and on the periphery of The Kihei marketplace.

There is going to be a line almost always because the shop is small. Icing is not included but it's only .85¢ to add and if you get 5 rolls the 6th is free. Drinks are good, but definitely not the star of the show. We will definitely go back! Update: we went back again on our vacay and tried the Hawaiian Head Sandwich. I got the bread with macadamia nuts because i love nuts and they drive me nuts - nuts were fresh enough, which added the crunchy texture to my soft moist bread - could be more moist but it was already satisfactory - i like how they sell smaller pieces rather than a whole loaf but also it was more pricey - not as fresh and as good as aunty sandy's but decent! rating: 3/5 - since this place focuses on cinnamon roll, the rating is heavily weighted towards the cinnamon, which did not meet the minimum expectations of what a basic cinnamon roll should be - if this place was called the banana bread place, id give it a 4/5 - quick service nothing much to note - very small store; grab and go vibes with some seats outside IG: @nom.noms.only

S e r v i c e The line appeared long, but it was moving as you order first before getting seated. Service was warm and helpful. We were a large party with a toddler and staff was accommodating to our party needs. (4/5) F o o d As for the taste, it was good but lacked some salt. I ordered the classic loco moco (with your choice of two eggs over a beef patty on brown rice and topped with a mushroom-onion gravy) and served with a big heaping of mac salad on the side. The brown gravy was a bit underwhelming, and the mac salad was rich with heaviness. I managed to try the Kalbi chicken salad wrap and found this dish to be a better option in my opinion. (3.5/ 5 at best) Overall, the chill vibes were great with a live band. But I would return to check out their brunch next time around.
