Stay away from this place, I purchased a vehicle from private seller, ran carfax on vehicle and purchased based on the information on a car fax. These people are fraud and report false information to car fax. Just replaced a thermostat they replaced less than 25k miles ago and smart mechanic put it in backwards. It cost a new radiator and thermostat. The coolant was muddy and dirty and gross! Ghetto place! Save your money and go else where. Don't tell me a coolant flush is recommended every year and thermostat every 25k miles. You clearly didn't perform the service you said you did. And to tell me you don't "roll like that" you sure do! Gave them a chance to make it right as per my mechanic and was told to get out. Don't support this local business! Take your car where they actually do the job & are professional. If I had the previous owner's info I would call her and tell her You we're taking her for a ride, because you probably saw that she's a woman & single mom. read more

Extremely disappointed. My wife and I went there looking for a used car for my son. Jeff was very friendly and showed us cars that he had that were in my son's price range but I knew he wouldn't like any of them. We saw a Mazda MX-5 that was listed way more than he could afford and ask what was the lowest he could go. He gave us the deal, and I thought it was pretty fair, offered with a guarantee passing Inspection and a 30 day 1000 mile 50/50 drive drain warranty. We needed to check with my son since he was at work, and he is tall and wanted to make sure he would fit in the car. My son also had a couple of other cars that he wanted to see also. We finally settled on this car and went back to look it over again but it was late and there wasn't anyone around. We did get a hold of one of the sales people to tried to haggle a wee bit more to save a few extra dollars but Jeff said that was the bottom line and he couldn't go any lower. I usually have very thick skin and understand the sales part of the car business as I sold car in my earlier year, and raising 4 children, but that sales person was very condescending and arrogant. My wife overheard the phone call, as it was on speaker and kept waving at me to hang up and just deal with Jeff or Jack. The next day we called back and talked to Jack (Jeff's son), and decided to purchase the car at the price. I mentioned that the driver side front sway bar link was broken and requested that it be fixed. I also asked if the car could be put on the lift so I could get a better look under it to make sure things were ok. His son Jack said that I could come in the morning and that shouldn't be a problem and told me what was needed to be sent over to them so they could put the paper work together. I was excited for my son, and felt good about the sale. About 10 minutes later, I received a call from Jeff telling me that I wasn't able to go into the shop and look under the car, that with all this craziness going on with this virus that it might not be covered if something was to happen......... OK, I get, I understand the concern. He also stated that at the price that he gave me, he had no room to repair the sway bar link. Hmm, a little concerning, but since I used to be an auto mechanic, it was an easy enough fix that I could replace it at little cost. THEN he tells me that he will NOT guarantee passing Inspection, and will NOT include the 30 day, 1000 mile, 50/50 drive train warranty. You better change your website, as it says that "ALL Our Inventory Goes Thru A 110-Pt Inspection Process & Comes With A Warranty. REALLY, that was NOT the deal that you gave me. He also told me, "No offence, but I feel that you would nickel and dime me on everything in the car". Are you kidding me? All I wanted is a little peace of mind that the car was going to be ok after my son drove it a wee bit. It's a Drive train warranty, NOT bumper to bumper. THIS is why used car sales men and owners have such a bad reputations. Then Jeff tell me that I know that it is a good car and that it shouldn't have any issues passing Inspection. Sorry Jeff, but trust goes both ways. I am not going to put my faith in a vehicle after you refuse to honor your side of the offer that was given. You want me to trust you, but you don't trust me? You really think that I would "Nickle and Dime you". Jeff, I was really hoping that we could do business together, and my wife and I felt very comfortable talking to you. We really liked the car and became comfortable with the deal that you offered us, but to change the deal and allow us ZERO peace of mind is unacceptable, and unprofessional. read more

I went to DeFelice Auto due to an ad on CARFAX advertising a 2007 Buick with approx. 80,000 miles for $4,995. I did end of purchasing the vehicle, but the cost came to over $7,000. I was not given the paperwork until I had been taken to the bank to get a check. The overcharges included added on $895 to the price advertised....UV Theft (optional) $229 (I was not given the option)...$359.50 included $250 Clerical Fee & $109.50 for Document Delivery Fee (which I picked up at their location). On the way home with the car a light on the dash went on....no lights were on when I test drove the car. I had to pay an additional $100 to get the problem fixed. First and LAST time to purchase from this place. read more

Car started showing check engine light as soon I drove it from dealeship . Had multiple electronic problems , headlights died in first month , had to replace them, cargo lights riped giving bad connection . My mechanic find that car was in crash , it has repainted front fenders , and front bumper was replaced (poorly they had to cut it to fit it ). Car has speed limit blocked at 75 mph and dealers (GMC) don't want to fix that. Worst car buying experience ever , lying and asking for more money is part of their job. Make sure you read your CarFax thoroughly. Also test to make sure all Windows and AC work! Bought a used vehicle from them a few months ago and never thought to check the A.C. Here I am now with hot air blowing on me. Again, I'm accepting responsibility for being dumb enough to trust your very typical car salesman. I experienced an issue with my vehicle and after some complaining got them to fix it. While I was there I was lucky enough to hear them bad mouthing other customers who were having issues with their vehicles. The only reason they're getting any stars at all from me is because my credit is low and they were able to finance me. I can already feel the transmission slipping on this vehicle and it's been like 2 months since I purchased it. I'm sitting here as we speak in a boiling hot car calling mechanics to repair the A.C.. I was already charged over blue book value for the car, and now I've got to have repairs done. Less than pleased but with credit like mine, when someone agrees to finance you, you don't turn it down. I was searching for a Chevy or GMC van in all wheel drive. I found out that they are in demand. The prices are up for them for sure. I had looked at several on line. A couple where really nice and way out of my range financially. The ones in my range were mostly used up and too rusty for my money. I had looked at several on line within 200 miles of my address. I had travelled hundreds of miles cruising dealers. One last look on CarGurus and I found a Blue 2014 GMC with low miles and AWD. I travelled the 120 miles to Point Pleasant Beach and DeFelice Auto. When I pulled in I met Mark Cohen outside. He had just completed a sale to a couple from Virginia who came up for a vehicle?!! I told Mark what vehicle I was there to see, he grabbed the keys right away and we went for coffee! After a nice test drive Mark had the van put on a lift so I could see the underneath. I was introduced to the Owner, Jeff, his sons Joe and Jack. These are some upstanding folks!! I was in a Jeep Wrangler that I didn't want to trade, but Jeff made a great offer!! I couldn't do it and kept the Jeep. No worries, I bought a nice van for a fair price with a good interest rate. Now I had to get it back home! Mark helped me hire a driver (this was Saturday). While I was waiting and finishing up paper work, Mark bought some pizza for lunch. The driver, Mike, was awesome and we made it back to my place. This was an awesome place to buy a vehicle! NEVER AGAIN!! - had been going there for over a year with all my cars. was usually out in 10-15 minutes. nice kid worked there. they recently switched to doing the oil changes in the service bays for the defelice car dealership - BIG MISTAKE - went in last saturday, was the third car in line and 45 minutes later my car hadn't even been pulled in yet! asked for my keys back, left and won't be back. The price is good at $24.95 but time is money and i can go to jiffy lube and get it done much faster at a slightly higher price. Can't understand how a service area with 7 service bays and a bunch of techs can take longer than the little two bay area with only one guy that they previously did the oil changes, he did it so much faster. read more

10 days after buying my 2005 Ford Explorer from DeFelice, I had a check engine light. I was told by the Used Car Manager (Jeff) that because I did not get my car to him and fixed within 14 days, he was under no obligation to pay for the repair. I had a scheduled appointment for day 18 but they were only going to tell me what the light was for - they would need for me to leave it during the week to make the repair - no one says anything about day 14. When they were able to run the check engine and look at the car, they said I need a new fuel pump. That part is not covered by warranty (lemon law) - it would cost $830, they would do it for $750 (not a bad price). I argued they should pay for the repair. Jeff stuck to his 14 day rule. I explained I hadn't been through inspection - because it would fail, I hadn't made a car payment but I'm supposed to pay for a repair? Jeff said during our conversation that his dealership was not the type that clears check engine codes and then sells the car hoping it won't come back before inspection, which never occurred to me. I explained again that I have no sticker. Nothing. No pass/failed - nothing. He eventually offered to split the cost --$300+ taxes. A new fuel pump for $300-350 .... Cannot be beat. Initially I said yes then had a change of heart and felt they should make the repair for free and earn my business. The check engine on day 10 is the same one on day 14 vs day 30, and as a matter of fact is the same code the previous owner had before he got rid of it. They said 300 was their best offer. I told them put the keys in the car, lock the car, I'll be by to get it and pay Ford 4 times what you're asking because I'm now (and today) questioning both your honesty and integrity. Yesterday it occurred to me, part of what sealed the deal was the impeccable CarFax - which they provided. I re-read it. Every 5k miles at Ford for oil, tire rotation and general maintenance - without fail. The 2nd to last diary notation is most interesting. The car went to a different Ford dealer than it always goes to - to check the fuel system. Car Fax doesn't indicate if it was repaired. I called the dealership who pulled the notes - the owner came in with a check engine and the code happened to match mine. The owner did not make the repair, just had the code read. A week later, he was back at his old dealership for the oil and tires; in speaking with them, that's all they did and it was the last entry before showing up in NJ 3k miles later. Last few items. If you do purchase a car, know they will charge for window etching automatically - don't need that for an '05. It was rattled off as we were going through the checklist. You simply need to tell them you don't want it, they'll take it off. My salesman was great. Everyone was very nice, including Jeff and I would certainly be singing a different tune if they would have stood by their motto vs. their rule and did the right thing and make the repair. read more
