I am extremely pleased with the services from Anthony's auto repair. I saw the previous reviews for Anthony's which lead me to this business in an area where I do not have a reliable auto mechanic. I was interested in purchasing a used Jeep Wrangler from the area and I had asked Anthony if he would do a pre purchase inspection explaining I don't have history on the vehicle and it is for my daughter who will be getting her license soon. Anthony told me he was busy and that he could look at it the next day and would bill for one hour of labor but it would be a thorough inspection. I was happy I brought the vehicle to him as he gave me a list of items that were concerns and what repairs would need to be made. Anthony was nice enough to give me a lead on a Jeep that he knew would be up for sale and offered to inspect this one as well. I passed on the first Jeep on his recommendation and brought him the second Jeep which did need work but was in far better condition. I ended up purchasing the Jeep and brought it to his shop, the necessary repairs were made for a fair price. Anthony has a clean shop and employs several mechanics who work full time and support their families with their jobs. The shop is absolutely immaculate which demonstrates that they take pride in their work and work conditions. Anthony's has been in business for Approx 30 plus years. Anthony gave me confidence to know that the Vehicle I bought for my daughter was now safe and roadworthy for her. It has been a few weeks and I am happy to report the Jeep runs great. The great reviews I read were spot on. Anthony was awesome right from the start! He was accommodating with a next day appointment. His inspection of the car was thorough and he really went to bat for me with the dealership that was selling me the car to get them to rectify the issues that he found with the car. He was very honest and upfront through the whole process and took the time to speak to me and the salesman multiple times during that day. This place was such a breath of fresh air. Came in after being frustrated with the West Long Branch Firestone, went in for front brakes they recommended front, rear, alignment, 4 new tires. When I pushed back they said that's what it needs, and provided no further explanation. I went to Yelp to try to find a reputable auto repair business and was excited to see Anthony's Auto had such great reviews. I called in and spoke directly to Anthony, dropped my Jeep off the next day and he recommended front brakes and a wheel balance. I was hesitant to get new rotors but he explained for the extra $100 it would be worth it do replace the rotors so there was no vibration, I appreciated the explanation and went with his recommendation. Price was right, was quoted significantly more by Firestone. This was the most pleasant auto repair experience I've ever had. I will absolutely return again and have already recommended this repair shop to friends and family. My daughter is a student at Monmouth Univerisity and went to Anthony's because the jiffy lube across the way said a scew fell out of her car. Anthonyy(owner) called me and told me that the car needed 1200 dollars worth of work and told me that she needed brakes, rotors, and there were problems with the the stearing column, all things to scare a parent into doing the work. I told him not to do, took to my mechanic in Maryland and there was nothing wrong with the car. Brakes were at 50%. What a scam artist is all i can say. Do not use!! read more

I'd just pulled into town to visit a nearby friend for the weekend when the GPS stopped working. I was lucky enough to find Anthony's. His mechanic replaced the fuse for my cigarette lighter (where the GPS was plugged in) and it blew again. They figured out I had a bad adapter and replaced the fuse again. This time, it worked. Anthony was apologetic about charging me $10 -- hey, I was thrilled that I found someone who didn't take advantage of my situation! And he was a genuinely nice, personable guy who even directed me to a nearby restaurant for lunch. read more

Flat out lied. I had my oil changed and engine light came on, the computer said the O2 sensor was bad. We my fiance and I brought My car to Anthony and he told us the Manifold had a crack in it and quoted a price of more than $700. We went back to the dealer and checked the warranty to see if it was covered on my extended warranty It was not covered, BUT... it was only the O2 sensor , NO CRACK in the manifold, NONE- these guys just didnt want to take the time to take the sensor out and replace it,. Shame on them. .Total cost LESS THAN $200. Not to be trusted. read more

Anthony did do some good work for me. However I will never go there again. The last time I went in for repairs he told me I needed new brakes on all 4 wheels. It seemed suspicious to me so I went to the dealer to check the brakes. They told me all the brakes were fine and probably had 20-30,000 miles left on the pads. And the dealers price to do the brakes was considerably less than Anthony wanted to charge me. I don't do business with people who will lie to me and overcharge me. read more

Went in for an oil/filter change for my fiance's Fiat. Called yesterday and left a message, and was called back within 20-30 minutes I'd say and they said I should swing by the next morning. I swung by at 8am this morning, dropped it off, and walked over to QuickChek and DunkinDonuts for breakfast and coffee. Walked back around 9am and it was done; also, the oil check light was properly turned off. They did note that one of the tires didn't look too good (you could see there was a weak point where the tire was protruding (probably from a pothole or curb). They told me to just keep an eye out for it, but weren't pushy at all. I decided on my own that I wanted it changed anyway and they were able to order the tire I wanted and I came back around 1-2 same day for the new tire. Reasonably priced in my opinion, not pushy, and very helpful. I recommend to call ahead to make sure they aren't too busy. read more
