Do yourselves a favor and go to a different shop. I brought my car in for minor body work and left with $4,000+ worth of damage. Technicians drained oil and didn't replace and also did not bleed the new radiator leading the car to overheat and breakdown on the highway. Manager never took any responsibility. Response to previous post is inaccurate. We had another body shop and the dealership take a look at the damage and found that was directly related to the Degovanni. Our insurance tried getting in contact with them for 6 months plus and each time they said that they needed the manager to respond back and they were out of office. read more

HORRENDOUS SERVICE My husband brought his vehicle here for body work after a minor accident. Biggest mistake. My husband has not had a vehicle for 2 months and the person at Degovanni refuses to use Allstate's online portal, so Allstate will not pay, and Degovanni will not release the vehicle. So, in addition to having an infant at home and multiple jobs and sleep deprivation, my husband and I have had only one vehicle since before Christmas. Paulo is not accommodating, professional, or caring. Our vehicle is trapped there and Allstate will not pay to have it towed somewhere else. All because Paulo will not submit a request to Allstate using their online portal asking them to come out to look at the car and approve the work. We are stuck in an insane trap and cannot get our vehicle back. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!!! read more

I've been to this body shop twice and have been very pleased both times. The first time that I brought my car in was due to a minor fender bender. A year prior (before I had ever even heard of DeGiovannis), I was rear-ended and my car was towed to a nightmare of a shop. My experience with that other shop felt like it was out of a movie. They were professional scammers to say the least... I thought that was all behind me but when I brought my car to DeGiovannis for the first time, they showed me that the previous shop had scammed me even more than I initially realized. In a nutshell, that shop hid my car's internal damage by giving me a new bumper and never actually repairing the damage that was done to my car. Jim, one of the owners at DeGiovanni, called me immediately. He was concerned for my safety and told me that he wasn't letting me leave their shop until he repaired what the previous shop hadn't. Mind you, I was in his shop for a different reason but he cared enough about my well being that he repaired someone else's mess. This level of service spoke volumes to me. He didn't even care about the money, he just wanted me to be safe. He worked with my insurance company to fund the repairs and the process was absolutely seamless. His level of customer service goes above and beyond anything I could have asked for. After that experience, I saved Jim's cell phone number. When I needed to take my car to his shop for something else, I simply texted him. He added me to the books and kept me updated via text the entire time. I picked my car up last week and she is a beauty again! They do such great work and Jim has been the cherry on top! 5 stars all around! read more

I have to applaud these guys they did me a solid last time. Flashback to when I decided one week and a half before moving out of Philly to finally get my repair on the rear bumper. It is not the first time I come here btw because when you live in Philly, you are inevitably going to need an auto shop you can trust. And you can trust these guys 100%. So I drop my car off and it's supposed to only take a few days except there was unforeseen additional repair to be done and since the work was taken care of by my insurance the insurance people had to first come in and all. I started panicking because I was moving in a few days and they still had to order the part and all. Long story short they managed to mobilize the insurance guys, the part and get everything done right before I had to move and even got my car clean and shiny. My Toyota RAV4 was side-swiped by an Amazon truck back in December. I brought it to Degovanni's for an estimate shortly after and they determined that the car was totaled. When Amazon's appraiser came out there, they tried to low-ball us and say that he car had much less damage than it actually did. This lead to a lot of back and forth with Amazon that took a lot of time to sort out. The Degovanni's team was very helpful in telling me what appraisers are and are not allowed to do. Months later, we eventually got the appraiser to come back out for a second look at the car when he then deemed it to be totaled. I was very grateful for how professional the Degovanni's team was throughout this entire process - especially with how long it took. They fought super hard for me to get a fair shake from Amazon and they continued to fight hard when Amazon tried to back out of covering the holding fees. My mom had her car worked on here and it took forever!!!! We received updates in the beginning but then that stopped and it became a struggle to get one. The man and woman we talked to when we picked the car up were difficult and rude. They made several inappropriate comments. Aside from that, my mother was unsatisfied with the work. She said the paint was bubbled and the car was dirty inside. Had to take it elsewhere to fix it and pay even more. We will not be back here again. Red flag. read more

I scheduled an appointment at 9 o'clock when I arrived the employee I spoke with on the phone had no recollection of my appointment or car. He spent less than 30 seconds inspecting my car before telling me it was most likely total, contrary to what my mechanic said. For context, my car had extremely minimal damage and he was listing damages/dents that were not there. After telling him I do not think it is totaled due to it driving fine and the report I received from my mechanic he became hostile and agitated accusing me of "Do you think you know more than more" and "You can just take it back to the mechanic." I chose DeGovanni's due to my mechanic's reference and good reviews for this place however I was very taken aback by the poor service and hostile behavior I received from the employee I was working with. read more

I believe they are the worst. They take off more days than school District my car been in they shop for three months got it out and it's still not complete but they got there the deductible from me My car was hit while parked. My insurance company told me to take it to them, I'm trying to get reimbursed for the rental car and they won't send over the paperwork to the insurance company. They kept me updated for a month and then stop updating me. I have four different dates when my car was going to be complete and it's still not complete. It has nothing to do with parts . One minute they told me everybody in the office caught Covid then an hour later I get a call and they say my car is complete. read more

The woman handling the front desk seemed to be taking care of everything all by herself - from all the calls to paper work, dealing with insurance companies and car rental places. All of it like a boss! And with so much calm, poise and professionalism. She even gave me really helpful tips on certain options when returning my rental. The gentleman who did the walk-thru with my car regarding the procedure was also extremely nice and informative. The auto body technician/paint job was done so seamlessly and the turnaround time was fantastic. It got done earlier than expected. I picked up my car and drove off happy as a clam. My car started shaking on my 3 hour travel home. I pulled over right away and did what anyone with Yelp would do and looked up an auto shop. That's when I came across Degovanni Collision Experts! I called them with only 40 mins before they close. With no hesitation they told me to stop by. When I got there the lady at the front desk was helping another customer and looked at me. Called the auto repair guy and said "Kelly is here. I'll send her down." Within seconds, I meant two amazingly helpful men. I always do A LOT of research before I buy goods or services. I was in an accident back in January. I finally got around to taking my car in back in April. My car was fixed sooner than expected. They updated me every step of the way. There was an issue and the owner (Jim?) brought a technician out to my job and fixed it. The detail made my car look like new and I fell in love with it again. Lastly, my car was spray painted by some idiot. They tried to get it off, but they didn't know what it was (since my car is deep purple and the spray paint was black, they thought the top layer was coming off). When I picked up my car, it came up in conversation that it was spray paint. A few moments later, one of the managers came back and started wiping it off clean. They took care of it though it was completely unrelated to my accident and claim. I am so appreciative of everything they did. They went above and beyond every step of the way! I will definitely take my car back here God forbid something else happens to it. Update: They've done it again! My trunk latch was messed up (this is a thing for Scion tCs). My dad started to fix it, but it turns out the damage was more extensive than we thought and required a few replacement parts. I called Degovanni's to bring it in for an estimate. The price was very fair. About a month later, I dropped it off with Dean. As we were doing the review for the repair, I had asked for a side mirror to be painted - I knocked it off over a year back and replaced it with a non-matching black one - and he let me know that it wouldn't be done within the timeframe I needed. He said I could bring it back, which was not a problem for me. My car was ready the next day as promised. To my surprise, Dean had the technicians mix up additional paint and paint both of the mirrors (the other mirror's paint was worn). He didn't charge me anything additional! Had a minor fender bender back in February where I got rear-ended. Went to Degovanni and while Kevin was busy on hold trying to go through someone's insurance for a 6(!)-year-old claim, he came out to my car, gave me a date to come back when the part would be ready, and wrote it down for me. When Hertz across the street screwed up my rental car the day of the work, he called Enterprise and they came and picked me up. A few years back I brought my GMC in after a deer hit me and damaged the entire drivers side. They did a great job replacing my door with GMC parts and also did a thorough job with other damages caused by the hit. Fast forward a few months ago where a rock or something from a construction vehicle hit my windshield. I called State Farm who routed me to glass claims and basically they work with safelight. They did a horrible replacement with after market glass, the glass uneven on the mold causing air to get in my car and my windows fogging up when it rains. I fought State Farm claims, lots of stress and horrible service, and brought my GMC back to Degovanni's. It was like night and day. Paul was absolutely amazing again!! He assured me he'd get the OEM glass and turned around weeks of a stressful situation. He communicated with me often by phone and text. I wish I had gone to him from the start. His team did a perfect job replacing my windshield. He even ordered GMC wipers for me weeks later and I swung by and his team put them on in minutes. Great shop! I came in for repairs to my Toyota FJ Cruiser, which is not a particularly common car and is no longer being made. I needed a new front bumper and it was on back order from Toyota. If there was a possible way to give 100 stars instead of 5, most assuredly Degovanni's would deserve all 100. After a really stressful time of being caught in a flash flood with my old car while on vacation (resulting in it being totaled), I began the process of finding a new automobile. After weeks of research and test drives, we found the most perfect (to me ) 2014 Hyundai Sonata Limited Turbo in beautiful, sparkly pearl white. Needless to say, I purchased this car and was TOTALLY loving it! 10 days after I bought it, I'm sitting at a red light when an uninsured motorist (who was texting) slams into the car in back of me, sending the car directly behind into my trunk and doing approximately $6,500-$7,000 in damage. I sprained my shoulder and was generally sore all over physically, but worse was how upset I was about the events of the past month. When I went to Degovanni's for the estimate, after a quick assessment they determined that the car needed to stay; for some reason this just broke me and I started to cry. Although I felt insanely awkward, Ms. Tara had Mr. Pasquale were incredibly understanding, kind and empathetic; they offered every possible way to assist me from calling Hertz and arranging my rental car to calling my husband for a ride if I wished. Really very kind, thoughtful people. From the moment I dropped the car off, I was kept in the loop of progress and were very helpful (especially Dean) when my husband had questions or concerns. The car was even ready a week early!! The work that was done was impeccable and my car came back cleaner than it was when I dropped it off (which was pretty clean!). In all truthfulness, you would never know the car had ever been hit; all parts were new from the manufacturer and the work is insured for as long as I own the car. When I picked my car up when it was finished (a week early, remember!), Dean reviewed all the work with me during a walk around, all my questions were answered and they even returned the rental car for me! All in all, Degovanni's made this horrible experience so much less stressful for me and my husband and I can't say enough good things about their work or their business practices. Loretta and Marty will do whatever it takes to make sure you are taken care of with as little inconvenience to you as possible. Recently had my 2014 Ford Fusion repaired here. Called in the morning and Jim was enthusiastic to meet me the same day for an estimate. When I brought it in, it only took two days. They even offered to touch up all the little dings and scratches for free because they had some extra paint. The service was great all around, I would definitely recommend them. What started as a horrible experience for me (because my car was completely damaged in an accident) was turned completely 180 to a very positive experience because of the team at DeGovanni. 1. Walked me through everything that was done with my car and why, and made sure the car was clean and in perfect condition top to bottom before I left. 3. I also want to add that I loved their email system. In the technology world now we all want instant gratification and instant results ... I think I received an email from them every single day letting me know initially my target date for pick up and every day thereafter that we were still on target. That was so important to me to know where we were at in the process, and when of course I could get my car back. 4. Also, my car finished a head of schedule by 3 entire days which was amazing to have it sooner than planned. Met with Jim the same day I filed out a claim with my husband's insurance company. I was able to drop my car off and he hooked me up with a rental car from Enterprise right down the street. Jim was nothing but accommodating, super sweet and very understanding. He was patient and willing to help me with all my needs. Went in for an estimate this morning to get a front spoiler and lower cover replacement on my car. Everything went well (they even took off the part for me) until I received the estimate via email. First off the estimate was labeled "Your Lexus" -my car is an Infiniti so the email was obviously sent out without checking who it was going to. I thought the price was a bit high - $653 for two plastic parts. I found the same parts online for a total of $215. Nevertheless, I called to schedule the appointment b/c I needed it fixed asap. I was told I had to put down a cash deposit of $200 before they would order the parts or schedule the repair. I thought this was a bit odd. I asked why I couldn't put it on a card over the phone b/c paying cash would require me to go to the bank, get out the $, drive all the way back to the shop to drop it off, then drive the car home - all while I was informed not to drive the car until the repair was done. I think it was the manager who then got on the phone and proceeded to lecture me about how past customers would order then cancel their appointment leaving the shop with a parts return fee. I get it, no one wants to be out money. After mentioning that I didn't want to drive my car b/c I was told that I shouldn't be driving it w/o the lower cover protecting the engine, I asked if I could please pay over the phone by debit card given the circumstances. After refusing my request I mentioned that I guess I would have to drive down to pay the deposit and hoped that my car wouldn't get messed up in the process. The man then got upset with me and "mansplained" how he had done me a favor by removing the cover and that I should be more grateful and went on and on. Was a horrible customer service experience. Glad I dodged that bullet with such an aggressive and confrontational individual. read more

I was in an accident in early June and I took my car to Degovanni's. I can't give them 5 stars because it took over a month for them to fix my car (which is partially my insurance/leasing company's fault and also due to the nature of the damage), but everyone there was extremely nice and helpful (especially Taslima, the front desk receptionist) when I called to check on the status (which was pretty much daily). Towards the end I was worried I would be without a car because my insurance only covered up to 30 days, but they took it upon themselves to work to get my rental extended the necessary number of days so that never wound up being an issue. Jim knew I was stressed out about the repair, so he even gave me his cell phone number to call him outside of regular business hours. When I did finally get my car back, the quality of the work was top notch and Jim personally took me down to look at my car and also make me aware of some other things I may want to get looked at that I hadn't noticed before. I have a 1997 BMW 5 series that has 80,000 miles on it and is in immaculate condition. I don't drive it much, so I have it connected to a battery conditioner in my car. About a year ago, though, as I was taking that out of the trunk ( where the battery is), the handle broke and it landed with a metallic scrape, causing several chips right down to the bare metal on the top of the trunk. After living with that for a few months, I finally had enough and stopped by on my way home (I live less than a mile from them). Even though it was a Saturday at lunchtime, with jobs far more extensive than mine, they took a look, brought it into their bay, touched up the paint chips, and I was out of there in less than 20 minutes. Considering it was an 18 year old original paint job in Oxford Green Metallic (which Google told me was almost impossible to match). We all knew going in that touch ups would never be perfect, but the job they did was way better than I'd thought possible without a complete repaint. I couldn't have asked for a better service, value, and quality of work. read more

I've never reviewed a business on Yelp, but I think it is essential that I share my terrible experience with this shop. I took my car in to have the front bumper fixed/replaced after recently being hit. FOUR WEEKS later, I was finally able to pick up my car. It's quite possible that more than just my bumper needed to be repaired, but the shop NEVER actually told me what the issues were. After the first week of not hearing anything from the shop, I called them to find out if they had a timeline. They told me that they had not been able to do anything because they were waiting on my insurance company to approve a supplemental estimate that exceeded the appraiser's original estimate (the original estimate was about $750). I then did not hear from them for another week, so again I had to call. They claimed to still be waiting to hear from my insurance company, which was surprising because my insurance company tends to respond quickly. Concerned by the lack of response, I personally called my insurance company. According to them, they had no record of a supplemental estimate being submitted, so they contacted the original appraiser to see if he received an estimate. Within 24 hours of my calling the insurance company, the supplemental estimate was approved -- the shop was asking for an additional $1900. The shop finally called me 2 days later (this was the first time in 2.5 weeks they initiated any contact) to let me know that they were working on the vehicle and it should be ready by that Saturday or Monday (I spoke to them on a Friday evening). Saturday comes and goes, I hear nothing. Monday comes and goes, I still hear nothing. They call me Tuesday to let me know I won't be able to pick up my car because it's at their other location, and they feel uncomfortable driving it back in the snow (totally understandable). I hear nothing the next day to suggest that anything has changed, so I drive to the shop on Wednesday to pick up my car, and I'm told that they are not sure where it is and why it hasn't been returned (alarming). I'm then called by, I'm guessing the owner, on Thursday who tells me that the bumper job was not done to his satisfaction, so he had his guys redo the whole thing. My car will not be ready for another 2-4 days. We're now into the 4th week. I then get an email on Monday (first one I received the entire time they had my car) to let me know the car is done, but when I call them to confirm they still have to check if that's accurate (why then did I get an email, I don't know). It's confirmed that indeed, 2 days short of 4 full weeks, my car is ready. I go in, pay a lot of money for a job that apparently had to be done twice, and get my car back. To add to this awesome experience, my gas tank was left below E even though there is a gas station literally across the street. What an ordeal! read more
