I have been in WI since 9/21. I got here evacuating a hurricane coming to a family. I didn't know was here or how many their were and their history in the state of WI. When I got to Madison. I began trying the infamous "cheese curds". I have found them to be quite meh... always pre frozen, tasteless and chewy. I wondered? Is it because I lived in CA and LA most of my life eating in SF, Orange County/LA County and NOLA? Nah! It's just cursed me with knowing what GOOD FOOD tastes like. I found GOOD CHEESE CURDS! Their handmade ones are the real deal and mmm mmm good! I got them to go. (I'm disabled.) They were very accommodating. They held the doors open for me to get my walker out the door. The only suggestions I would make is to watch the oven with the cheesey bread. It was over cooked underneath and on the edges. The texture of bread when overcooked with the cheese on top and too much heat underneath. The butter and garlic is burnt away. The ambiance may be enhanced with conversation between servers about, "where you gonna go drink tonight?", kept in the back amongst themselves, for their own personal safety too ladies. Got a salad, the jalapeño burger and fries... I found out while the burgers are frozen but they come from the owner's own cows which they butcher... That burger was great tasting, however, I was disappointed in the size of it.. It left me asking, "where's the beef"? The size was so small.. It was like a kiddie burger.. It's not for a hungry man, lol.. The coleslaw was different.. It was creamy at all... It was like an oil-based maybe with some vinegar in it? I wasn't a fan... WOW!!! WOW!!!! WOW!!!! This restaurant is a gem in a quaint little town!!! If you have an opportunity to stop by I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO DO SO!!!! If you eat anywhere else you will be upset with yourself! We stopped out after a day of exploring and camping. We had a large party of nine, 3 kids and 6 adults. Service was a 5 star, no make that a 7 star!!! Becky was outstanding, personality, knowledge and a never stop motor. We never had an empty plate or bowl or less than half full drink the entire time we were here!!! Soup and salad buffet came with the dinners! I was skeptical at first. I could have just eaten that for dinner! Everything was fresh and tasted soooooo goooooooddddd! Dinner came and was again very fresh and obviously they spend time making things in house! I was there yesterday with a friend who recommended it. I ordered a Club sandwich and got a BLT?! We had waited for almost 20 minutes for our food, so I didn't ask for the correct item since my friend's food was already in front of him and another 20 minute wait would be out of the question. I opened my sandwich to pepper it and the bacon was burnt black and totally inedible. Then the lettuce was so limp and yucky out it went. Which left me with some over done toast and a tomato for lunch. Lucky for me there was a McDonalds across the street so when we left I could get something to eat. I don't know if they are just horribly short staffed or what, but it wasn't that busy at all (only 5 other tables) so not sure why the service would be so bad and the food come out so slowly. It was bad enough that the very simple order was incorrect but the substitute food served wasn't fit to eat. And never got a refill either. read more

Very busy this Memorial Day Sunday morning. We had a wait of about 20 minutes, but it was fine. The food was great eating, but since it was so busy, it was a bit slow. The waitress was great about it and did her best so that made up for it. The price was fair, about $10 each, but we had a few big eaters. We met friends that live in Denmark here for brunch, I was excited to try it because there were great reviews on Yelp, I didn't have the same experience. The menu is large and there is something for everyone, the staff is friendly. I had eggs Benedict that came with my choice of potatoes, I had the hash browns. Everything was cold and the hollandaise sauce was flavorless. My other issue is cleanliness, the woman's bathroom was dirty, the chairs at our table were sticky, and there was something crusty on my knife. We stopped here on the way to the Milwaukee airport from our visit in door County. The whole family highly recommends this restaurant. The service was friendly and quick. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the Scramble, and posted a picture of it as well. My son really enjoyed the Belgian waffle with Apple on top. The chicken soup was quite good as well. We stopped at this restaurant on our way through Denmark. We were all really impressed. The wait staff is friendly and always attending to you with a smiling face. The menu is beyond fabulous. I got the honey mustard chicken wrap. It was awesome! There was the perfect amount of everything. Other people in the group got fish, a patty melt and a buffalo chicken wrap, they all said their food was awesome! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The restaurant decor is older, but the place is nice and clean, so that would still be four starts. We had the philly cheese steak omelette, the scramble, pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, a skillet, several sides and several drinks. The bill was 53$ so price was good. So four stars for that. Portions were huge- pancake the size of the plate. Huge skillets and omelettes. Five stars on that one. So why the three stars- bland. The food was rather bland. My meal had onions, bacon, sausage, ham, eggs, hash-browns and still needed tons of salt. In the 20 years I've known my husband I have never seen him put Ketchup on hash browns. And he loaded them up. The kids said their pancakes were good and the chocolate chip ones were so full of chocolate that no syrup was needed. Service was on the slow side too. Waitress was polite and helpful. We sat down at 9am on a Saturday and it was pretty full, but everyone seemed to have their food already. It took almost 30 minutes to get our food. Very large menu. First the waitress gave me the wrong soda. It took a long time to get her attention to see if I could get the right soda. I ordered the scramble skillet and my friend ordered steak and eggs with cheese on her american fries. My skillet came with cheese all over the american fries. There was so much processed cheese on it that I could only taste the processed cheese. The eggs were over cooked I ordered over medium. My friend didn't get the cheese she ordered on her american fries. The waitress took so long to ask how everything was that my friend was almost finished with her meal and I only ate the toast and some of the potatoes from my american fries that I had to wipe the cheese off. She didn't hardly waited for us to answer her. She didn't bring us our bill so, my friend went and paid it. There weren't very many tables of people so, there really wasn't a reason I could think of that the waitress couldn't stop by our table much.
