Kind of disappointed with this place. We've been here on several occasions now and I feel like we're kind of crashing a private party. Maybe they're just fed up with tourists?? I don't know. The food here is your typical diner fare, but I gotta say it's done really well. The wife ordered an omelet...fresh veggies and plenty of cheddar cheese. Came with a side of raisin bread that appeared to be homemade served with a jar of freshly made strawberry jelly...it didn't seem entirely sanitary, but boy was it delicious. The pancakes are great, but thought the American fries were a little dry. Prices are really reasonable, BUT it was slightly annoying that our bill did not match up the menu prices. Ended up being a couple dollars more than expected. No big deal, but they should definitely update their menu prices. Service is good, but not great. They seem to appreciate the locals more than the tourists. All in all if you're headed up to door county it's not a bad spot to grab a quick bite.

    Stuffed hashbrowns!

Makes a great breakfast pitstop on the way to or from door county. Very friendly staff. All your basic diner breakfast options. Stuffed hash browns were tasty.

Very good food with homemade soups, daily specials and pizza. We got the pizza & chicken noodle soup. Nothing fancy but it is good food and very affordable! Will come back again on our trips to Door County

    Stuffed Hashbrowns. Yes please!

After three visits, we've deemed this place as 'reliable, fast, and friendly'. Menu offers a decent selection whether you're there for breakfast or lunch (haven't done dinner here yet, but my guess is the menu is similar to lunch). I had the Mexican pasty for lunch, and the stuffed hash browns on one breakfast visit and the Denver omelette on another occasion. We've had the same waitress each time, she's prompt and very nice. Casual up north diner vibe, great for a good home-cooked meal. They offer a few domestic tap beers, which we ordered during a lunch visit. A pitcher of domestic (I think bud light??) came in at a whopping $6, with two mugs filled in addition to the pitcher! Clearly that's a win. Another must... Order the Poppyseed Torte if they have it. And if they have it, order like 8 pieces. It's THAT good. Your tastebuds will thank you. Definitely worth popping in to check out. Family owned, lots of regulars, but it won't make you feel out of place!

Stuffed hash browns with rye toast. Great for a hang over.

After our visit to our lady of good help shrine we were very hungry so we looked at Groupon & Yelp…read moreto see what we could find. Our Lady of Good Help Shrine is located in the middle of nowhere, in a field far from anything. We found a Groupon for 4 people - $40 for $22 at a place called Rendezvous. After mapping the location we proceeded to drive from Our Lady of Good Help Shrine to a location in the middle of nowhere 9.2 miles away on a country road intersection. The Rendezvous is a combination restaurant/bar/bowling alley down by 2 county roads. When we walked in we had to go down about 4 or 5 steps into a very dated establishment. There were a number of people sitting at the bar having drinks and watching college games on tv. The bowling alley was empty when we got there. We asked the bartender if we could grab a seat and she said sit anywhere. The dining room looked like the basement of a old 60's condo that I use to live in. There were folding tables and chairs set up so the 4 of us grabbed a table. The waiter came with 4 menus and gave us a brief rundown on some of the items. He was a young guy that was very pleasant & was willing to put up with questions from the Illinois city folk. Overall the service was good, a little slow, but good They have a variety of items for dinners and were reasonably priced. I orders the family style broasted chicken (as much as you want) which was very good that came with way too many sides. The sides included mashed potatoes (ehh made from a powered mix), coleslaw (which was very good, seasoned well with fresh ingredients), stuffing (ehh not worth mentioning), gravy (kind of a grey color and way too much cornstarch), corn (not too bad) & sauerkraut (ehh I could have done with out it) & desert (cherry cheesecake, brownies, pumpkin cake& homemade kit Kat cake). Did I mention I tried all of them? The broasted chicken was delicious and by far the best item in the family style meal for $8.95 all inclusive. My wife's friend ordered the 4 piece broasted chicken dinner. Her husband and my wife ordered the short ribs which were pretty blahhhh It was an ok meal (broasted chicken was pretty good I would give this a solid 4+ stars) for a reasonable price, huge quantities and good service. The short ribs were probably not even a 2 star. I doubt if I will ever be out there again in the middle of Packer country, but hey if you don't try it you never know what you are missing.

There are several beers on tap as well as in cans, ciders, and soda. I'm not a beer drinker, so I tried a Cherry Von Stihl Cider from the nearby Von Stihl Winery/Cidery/Distillery. I may have found my new cider! Anywho, for a small town like Algoma, this place was hoppin', and it wasn't just locals! There is plenty of seating indoors at the bar or around it. There is a patio right outside, also with ample seating, The outdoors is dog friendly, but I don't know about the indoors (although a giant garage door opens to combine the two, so...) There is a small corner offering up various merch like hats, t-shirts, mugs, etc. 10/10 would recommend a stop for a quick drink if you're in the area or just passing by. Comfortable and welcoming atmosphere with very nice and quick-witted bartenders! 40/2025

Also, our waiter was a (seemingly) high school kid who was waiting tables and prepping food in the back--super impressive but that is a lot for one person to do! The Halloween decor was also on point--very spooky. The pizza was super disappointing. I don't think they put any seasoning on that sucker. When you have the name "pizza" in your restaurant name-sake, I'm expecting a slamming pizza. It was also burned :( The service was also breathtakingly slow, but it is because that one kid is running all over the place doing all the jobs. I also thought it was weird when I asked for a water for dine-in they brought our table bottled water so we could take it to go. We requested just cups of water and they thought we were WILD for not wanting to waste more plastic.

We went around lunch and it was PACKED with of course limited indoor seating, crowded parking, people everywhere but honestly the food made it worth squeezing in. The tomato mozzarella salad was SO fresh and delicious, and the pizza absolutely lived up to the hype. We got the goat cheese & spinach pizza with hot honey and wow... whoever decided hot honey belonged on pizza deserves a raise. Sweet, spicy, cheesy perfection. Even my four year old loved a kick on the pizza. Now for the reason this isn't a 5-star review: the service. Our waiter seemed like he'd rather be literally anywhere else on earth. We had to ask multiple times for refills, and the overall vibe felt like we personally ruined his afternoon simply by existing. I totally understand places get busy, especially during tourist season, and we also had a four year old that was starving and was quiet about it with us so we weren't expecting royal treatment, but good service and a friendly attitude really do change the whole experience. The food? 10/10. The atmosphere? Cozy chaos. The waiter? Needed a snack, a nap, or maybe both. Would absolutely come back for the pizza alone. Just hoping next time our server likes people a little more. Solid 4/5.
