DeGrood's Appliance does not take responsibility for any damage made during delivery. After the fact Maggie Rosier-Degrood informed me of a 48 hour buffer time for customers to report a problem, and falsely stated this notice is on the bottom of orders, it is not on any of my orders. I also reported the damage before they delivered all my appliances. They also changed delivery dates 3 times making my deliveries over 2 weeks late. The delivery men do not clean up their mess after drilling holes, Two of my appliances were never even checked out before they left. I would not recommend DeGrood's if you want good customer care, because it does not exist. read more

Our less than 2 yr old LG refrigerator died and we noticed that a lot of places had very little to no inventory. We first called to see if they had any and our call was answered right away and they were very helpful. We decided to make the drive over and I'm so glad we did. We were greeted promptly and we told them our predicament, we needed a new fridge that day. We also said we absolutely did not want another LG (look up their class action lawsuit) How refreshing to be told they don't sell LG or Samsung because of the multiple issues with the brands. That's real integrity. After seeing our multiple choices and weighing options, we made our decision and couldn't be happier with our new fridge! And, even though we didn't really need it t that moment we decided to replace our aging stove as well. Our salesman even looked up the big box store prices and their price for the stove was almost $200 cheaper than Best Buy. We will never shop at the big box stores again, and why would anyone? If a family, locally owned store can beat the price, why give more to the corporate greed and the headaches of dealing with non local repairman if something goes wrong? Wish we would have looked at DeGroods before throwing away 2k on a refrigerator. read more

Degroods installed our new Bosch dishwasher last week. The installer was quick, professional and did a great job with the install. We've done business with DeGroods for years and have always been satisfied with them. I'd have no problem buying from them again. I have the option of going to Best Buy but I've had negative experiences with them. read more

My gas range wasn't heating up so I called Degrood's to have someone come take a look at it. Unfortunately they didn't have anyone available to come out, INSTEAD they diagnosed the problem over the phone, found the part I needed, explained how to install it and I was able to come pick up the part and do it myself without any problems at all. I was blown away by the kindness of the service department here, they really went above and beyond to help me even when they couldn't make it out to fix it in person. read more

I typically try to shop local and support local businesses. I make a purchase here recently where the item had to be ordered. I received a call from the sales person Erik who claimed he made a mistake and all of the sudden the price doubled. In this case they would not honor their price. I spoke with Luke a manager who had zero interest in assisting me. I would suggest purchasing at the big box stores where there are trained employees and good business practices in place. We are starting a full kitchen remodel and went in to inquire about their Fisher & Paykel fridges. Except the salesman was entirely disinterested in helping us. All he could be bothered to do was point in the general direction of the two models they had in the store. A few weeks before this when we went in to buy a Green Mountain Pellet Grill a different salesman couldn't get us out of the door fast enough. My girlfriend did all of the upselling for them and convinced me to buy their top of the line model instead of the midrange. Here is a list of sales they won't make for our remodel, Fisher & Paykel fridge, 800 series Bosch dishwasher, Cafe' 36" professional range, beverage fridge, 24" panel ready JennAir drawer fridge, and whatever else we felt the need to purchase. read more

I extremely disappointed with Degrood's in Mankato, MN. I brought a new washer and dryer set from them in September 2020. The dryer( less than 6 months old) quit working four weeks ago. I have have to call them weekly to check on parts for the repair and I keep getting a runaround on when they with arrive. I'm still waiting for them to call me back and for the dryer to be repaired or replaced. read more

I spent over $2000 on a new fridge only to have it dented and scratched by their delivery people. It's been months and they still haven't come to fix it. The guy came with paint that didn't match so he scratched off more paint to get a sample and I've never heard back from them. So now the scratch is even more noticeable. I will never do business with this company again. It's so funny that when my husband and I went in there to look around. One of the workers was talking about how much they care that their customers are satisfied and if you go somewhere like Best Buy or Home Depot, if they damage your product then you're still stuck with it. (Which is not true) seems like it's the other way around. You pay a bunch of money for a fridge for your new house and it gets damaged, the workers also damaged/scratched my new floor, and broke one of my solar lights in my driveway. Degrood's has been nothing but a nightmare. Go do business somewhere else. read more

I try to support local businesses because they usually offer better service than purchasing large items from big box stores. In the case of DeGrood's, this turned out to be a false assumption. I purchased a dryer from them that broke down multiple times within the warranty period. Getting them to come to repair it was difficult at best. It was like pulling teeth and everything took forever. Whenever I called they were either out of the office, gone for the day, too busy, did not have the parts, or whatever excuse they could come up with. The dryer did not even last 3 years. After multiple repairs and hassles, I ended up buying a new one from another appliance dealer in town. I would not recommend DeGrood's if you want to have reliable appliance repair services available. read more

Degroods did an EXCELLENT job repairing both our broken clothes dryer and leaking freezer unit of our refrigerator. They came as scheduled, had the parts with them or at the store. We could not be happier. read more

They have many appliances to choose from. And the staff is knowledgeable. But if you want to purchase something, rarely is it in stock. And when they finally get around to ordering it, it will be a month to six weeks later when it comes in. And then you have to schedule to have it installed. That's after numerous calls to the store checking up that it still takes that long. Their prices are usually more than the competition. But they will work on price matching . If that's the case, they should have competitive pricing to begin with. The one plus is they do service their own appliances, even though their service calls are more expensive than if you were to hire an independent repair man. When you have a problem, they are very slow to resolve. This is one case where supporting a family owned business over big box retailers doesn't pay off. read more

We were moving two months ago, and needed a small gasket ring replaced on our stove. I called to order the part and explained that we were moving soon and needed to come pick it up. The repair man said, "No problem, why don't we just stop out and throw it on for you." I replied that it was a simple fix, and that I could do it. To which he replied, "It's no problem, we can be out tomorrow to fix it." Foolishly, I thought that this was a kind gesture seeing as we had done considerable business with DeGroods. As promised repair man was there the next day. It took him 7 minutes to replace the part (used pliers to pull out the staples and put new gasket in. A job I could have easily done with my limited mechanical accumen). A week later I received a bill for $151. After receiving it, I made several attempts to speak with them about my growing frustration (3 phone calls and 3 in store visits)--I was ignored completely, patronized, and then told that they could do nothing about service call fees. I am intelligent enough to recognize the futility of such a business model. Short term gouging at the cost of substantially more in future business. Good Luck with that! read more
