Full disclosure: takeout for a large group during our weekly dinner. I got the Kra Prao Moo Kai Dao, which is stir fry made with minced pork, holy basil, garlic, and Thai chilis. The Thai fried egg was a nice touch, but I wish it was jammy instead of well done. They have multiple spice levels and I got the hottest, Ass Fire (that's literally the name). The flavors were great, and it had small pockets of spice here and there, but over all, it's a spice level made for the typical alabaster disaster. They have pad Thai, various curries, tofu, dumplings, the typical Thai offerings in the US. Prices range from 8ish dollars to 23ish dollars depending upon the type of dish. Best Thai food in Nashville!! I love Degthai and have eaten here numerous times, both in person and for takeout. The portions are gigantic and the food is delicious. Service is always friendly and quick. I used to think the mild Pad Kra Pao was pretty spicy, but I think they have decreased the spice levels because now it is extremely manageable. They have chili oil and other spices at the table in case you need to add more spice. Recently, I've been loving the red curry. It is packed full of meat, vegetables, and flavor. Degthai was the first Thai restaurant I tried in the Nashville area and it might still be my favorite. I love the small menu, ensuring that every dish gets plenty of attention. Parking can be a little cramped so keep that in mind if you're visiting during a busy time. For the service itself, it's the kind of place where you simply order at the cashier and take a number to your table. They've always been quick to drop off our food. I ordered the Street Dumplings during my last visit and they were fantastic. It's hard to find good soup dumplings in these parts so I'll probably be ordering these as an appetizer every time now. Randomly looked for a local find for lunch. Saw a Thai restaurant nearby and figured I try it. It's in a warehouse style building with other food options - order from a kiosk and it submits to the right restaurant. The pad Thai was just..alright, not really flavorful, which isn't the worst thing. But I asked for really hot spice level (3/4) and there is absolutely no heat in it at all. Degthai was my first time experiencing Thai food. I had no idea what to choose but the person behind the counter was very helpful and I eventually decided on the pad thai. It was exyremely delicious. There are several different heat levels all the way up to "a** fire" level. Although im adventurous, I am not THAT adventurous. I got the medium spice and it was spicy but very, very good. They do have a plethora of different sauces of all heat levels you can take to your table. One of the sauces was spicy enough to cause someone to internally combust. Important to note that this location and listing is a ghost kitchen, not a full service restaurant. Lots of reviews here are for the full service restaurant on Nolensville Pike - this is not that. With that being said! Getting takeout here was pretty simple. Order at the tablets on site or online at the Midtown Foods website. They'll send you text notifications, then you either scan your order form at the tablet or press "open" on the locker it designates for your order on your phone. It is very much a takeout-only place. There is a single small table inside and one bigger one outside, but it's not really set up to be a sit down spot. The food itself was pretty good. I had really high hopes for it given everyone's reviews about the main restaurant, and I think expectations were *mostly* met. The green curry was flavorful and so delicious, but it was not even a little bit spicy and we asked for it hot. The flavor of the shrimp pad thai was great, as was the chicken pad thai, but both were pretty dry (the chicken one moreso) and the one we ordered medium had no spice at all, either. Lime helped a bit but it was still pretty dry and clumped in the container as though it had sat awhile. It was still yummy, but this was definitely the dish that had me wishing we'd just driven to their main location instead. The pad krapow was fantastic, no notes. Loved their fried egg. The dumplings were excellent as well, especially when they were piping hot. The fried rice was standard but so savory and good. Their dried spicy seasoning is SO GOOD and I want one million packets of it. I would say everything was good enough to warrant trying their main location, but I wouldn't *rave* about this one. This was genuinely the best pad thai I've ever had. I convinced my coworkers to try this place with me because I've heard nothing but raving reviews and it always came up on my tiktok. I was not disappointed at all in fact I was pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes the fast service and the beautiful interior of the restaurant. I can genuinely say this was one of my best lunch dates thus far and my coworkers said the same thing. Uuggh the only I wish I would have done was to actually eat at the restaurant than taking it to go because after seeing other people plated food I was a little jelly. I visited the food truck a few times when it was at events I was at and always enjoyed their food, so when I found out they had a brick & mortar I was stoked. It's counter service, so great for dining with groups. I've gone several times with decent size groups (7-12 people) and not having to worry about splitting the check is such a relief. I love both their red and green curry. I usually lean red as I prefer my green curry more on the sweeter side, but their red is just perfect. The portions are perfect when I'm starving, and if I'm not so hungry then there's plenty for leftovers! Of the few times I've been I haven't heard one complaint from anyone in my groups. This location is in Midtown, within a shared kitchen building so you're able to order from multiple restaurants. Most people come in for doordash/to-go. I chose to come here knowing I was only looking to dine by myself, get my food, eat, then leave. I ordered Pad Thai, one of my favorite foods to eat. It was subpar, the noodles were not soft and the sauce was dry and completely unsweet. However, the chicken and veggies were good. Very well portioned, could be split between two people. Wow! Love Thai food and while looking for a spot in Nashville I saw this place that wasn't only the best Thai but # 45 in the USA best restaurants. Had to pull up. Had the best pad thai ever, the fried rice was so good and the Tom kha, chefs kiss. My coach has been to Thailand numerous times and said it was the best he's had outside the island. I have been a fan of Degthai since I moved to Nashville ... and I am so grateful that they operate this second location out of Midtown Foods! Their main location on Nolensville Pike is just a bit too far for a weeknight Thai craving ... BUT with this new addition, I can easily order takeout or delivery to East Nashville. At this point, I've eaten just about everything on their menu, and I have zero complaints. My go-to this winter has been the Red Curry (I like to order an extra side of rice so I have leftovers for the next day). I also love Jay's Special, and recommend it to any Degthai first-timers. My husband's favorite is the Shrimp Fried Rice, and he never strays from this order because it's consistently delicious. Also if you like Thai Tea, this is the place to order it! If you do pick up your order from Midtown Foods, I recommend giving yourself a bit of extra time to navigate the locker set-up. Personally, I've never had any issues with it, but I do know it can be confusing if it's your first time. There's actually a video on the @degthaistreetfood Instagram that explains the process. The most absolutely delicious food. My boyfriend heard good reviews so he took me here, it was both our first time having it. We were blown away. The staff is so friendly and the lady who took our order was so happy to help us order. We sat outside since it was a beautiful evening but there's lot of seating inside and outside. You can tell the staff enjoy what they do, they were so happy to help anyone and bring whatever we needed. It's not a formal dining set up but they treat their customers so well. I recently decided to try out this new branch of Degthai restaurant operating out of a coworking kitchen, and I'm so glad I did! Although I initially ordered through Uber Eats and faced a frustrating experience with delays and, ultimately, a cancellation after an hour of waiting, the restaurant went above and beyond to make things right. I contacted them directly, and they were incredibly apologetic about the situation. They immediately offered to cook my order fresh and let me pick it up, all for free. The food was absolutely delicious--full of flavor, fresh ingredients, and a perfect balance of spices. They threw in an appetizer as well. I appreciate their dedication to customer service and their commitment to making things right, even when the issue was possibly and/or likely out of their direct control. I will definitely be ordering from them again and encourage others to support this fantastic local business. Great food and a solid response for customer satisfaction! Perfectly flavored, the perfect amount of spice without overpowering the dish (got the medium), and goes well with the rice.
