    Thai Ice Tea
    Bailey D.

Every time I visit L&L, I say something like "Oh, I need to try that Thai place!" I'm happy to say that I finally had a chance to dine at Thai Ni Yom, and I can confirm that it's a tasty spot for a quick lunch in West Nashville. Double check their hours before heading to the market just for this spot ... one of the reasons it took me a while to try them is because they're not open on Mondays or Tuesdays! Everything on their menu sounded amazing, but I ended up ordering the Famous Basil and a Thai iced tea. My food was ready in less than 20 minutes, and there's plenty of seating available to wait. I ordered my meal to-go, but ended up eating right outside the stall. Let me just say that the basil is famous for a reason! My meal was bright and saucy - with a nice mix of meat and veggies like green peppers and baby corn. It's served with rice, which was perfectly cooked. I also added on a fried egg, which was another tasty textural component. My only critique is that the portion size is pretty small for the price ... but that wouldn't stop me from dining here again! The Thai tea was sweet and balanced - just what I needed to wash down a delicious lunch.

This is an awesome place to get solid Thai food. I've tried many of their dishes and they are always hot, fresh, and flavorful. I love the staff here. They are always so kind, warm, welcoming, and friendly. I highly recommend this place. I always come here for Thai food that never disappoints.

Been to L&L tons of times, but hadn't tried Thai Ni Yom yet. So glad I finally did! Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp was very good. Hostess was very sweet and service was very quick. Took it to go, but next time I will sit down in the little nook behind the restaurant for a quieter dining experience inside of L&L. Highly recommend!

Spent some time at L&L recently and was excited to try Thai Ni Yom's Famous Basil dish - got it to go - and it was still deliciously fresh at home. It was made with ground chicken, rice, a fried egg added, and the best flavors and basil ever! I was very pleased. Ordering was easy, quick, and I enjoyed waiting in the cute wooden tables and chairs. Only knock is the price is steep for the portion size you get.

Nashville has some solid Thai options and this is up there as well. The best Tom Yum soup I've had to date here. Clean, sour, fresh, and spicy. $11.99 Chicken Basil (pad krapow) lunch portion. Soup is a little pricey at $7 for a small container but to have two excellent dishes for under $20 for lunch is great! Really nice people as I came on the late side for lunch around 245 as they shut down at 3. Dinner resumes later at some point. They shut down their seating at 230 but I took my order to some main seating area inside the market. Took about 10 minutes to prepare. Also, be warned...4/5 on their heat scale is HOT...big thumbs up for me! They have a validation code to scan for the outside parking. Can't wait to go back and try some dishes!

The food here was really tasty, and the service was friendly and helpful. Thai Ni Yom is inside the L&L Market, which is a small shopping mall with a variety of shops and restaurants. We arrived just as they were opening, and the woman was very helpful in letting us know which items were gluten-free. The Pad Thai was really overflowing with flavor. The chicken was moist and tender, which I have to say I found to be a rare treat. So often when I get Pad Thai or similar dishes the chicken is really dry and a bit tough. My wife and I were both super happy with our Pad Thai at Thai Ni Yom. I had the Fried Spring Rolls, which were good and surprisingly flavorful. My wife had the Fresh Rolls, which lived up to their name being really fresh and of great quality. My only minor complaint was that it took about 30 minutes for us to get our food. If I had been trying to squeeze my meal into a lunch hour, I would have been pressed for time. They weren't busy at the time, and they do make everything to order, but it seemed like a long wait. But they may have also not quite gotten up to speed yet since we arrived just as they were opening. Regardless, the food was fantastic and the service was friendly and helpful, so we'll definitely be back.

So incredibly yummy! A little restaurant inside the L&L shopping/dining area. Super clean, super friendly. And honestly some of the best Pad Thai I've had in Nashville so far!

    Pad see ew with chicken
    Tina C.

Ordered the pad see ew with chicken at a 2/5 spice level. Pretty standard Thai food but the 2/5 spice felt like 4/5 spice, so I couldn't eat much of it until I toned it down a bit for leftovers. Overall well flavored, lots of seating options (indoor in the L&L Market area and outdoor patio), friendly staff. Took about 30 min to get the food around 7 pm. Definitely not the best Thai food in Nashville, but a good convenient bite.

Service is always friendly and quick. I used to think the mild Pad Kra Pao was pretty spicy, but I think they have decreased the spice levels because now it is extremely manageable. They have chili oil and other spices at the table in case you need to add more spice. Recently, I've been loving the red curry. It is packed full of meat, vegetables, and flavor. Parking can be a little cramped so keep that in mind if you're visiting during a busy time. For the service itself, it's the kind of place where you simply order at the cashier and take a number to your table. They've always been quick to drop off our food. I ordered the Street Dumplings during my last visit and they were fantastic. It's hard to find good soup dumplings in these parts so I'll probably be ordering these as an appetizer every time now. The Chicken Red Curry was also delicious, if a little mild. I just wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often!

The…read morebase of vegetable broth mixed with coconut milk was creamy yet not heavy (with a blend of yellow and red curry spices, according to the menu -- sadly I am not that well versed in curries!). The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the tofu was browned to perfection. The grilled broccoli and cauliflower were snappy and contrasted well with the rest of the ingredients. The dish had a spicy yet tolerable kick to it, but I have a very high threshold for spice and heat (I added chili oil to take it up a notch!). Also, the portion size is BIG. I was very hungry so I had no issues finishing most of it, but it could easily be shared between two adults, especially if you order an appetizer or side. I loved the interior decor, which was simple yet eye catching. The mural encompassing the entire space in particular looked really cool. The place was packed, but the friendly staff were hustling to keep the line moving.

The hardest part about eating at Degthai is beelining to the Tiew Gang Vegan. (BTW, I am not Vegan, yet I LOVE the Tiew Gang Vegan.) They do everything well - the other curries, the standard noodle dishes, the dumplings - and it can be tempting to just go with your regular go-to dish like Pad Thai w/Chicken (BORRRINGG, but they do it well nonetheless.) You've gotta try the Tiew Gang Vegan. It's truly a once-in-a-year of eating out experience finding a dish this incredible. It competes pound-for-pound in the same heavy hitter weight class as the best Pho, Ramen, Jjamppong, or Beef Noodle Soup you've ever had. I've now been to Degthai 10 times, and have gotten the Tiew Gang Vegan the last 5 times in a row.

After returning last night with my girlfriend and her four-year-old daughter, I can confidently say the experience was completely different. We were greeted and seated immediately, and the service was excellent from beginning to end. When my girlfriend mentioned that her drink was a little too sweet, our server quickly offered to replace it with something else. They also brought toys for her daughter, which was a thoughtful touch and made her feel welcome. The food was amazing. The wings were some of the best I've had, and the lo mein, bulgogi and fried rice were all excellent. Throughout our meal, several people who I assume were managers stopped by to make sure everything was going well. I was genuinely impressed by the level of service. There are fine-dining restaurants in Nashville where you don't receive this much attention or hospitality. Hawkers completely changed my opinion, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Wasted Soup dumplings are so damn cool. It's also either an engineering marvel or some sort of biblical miracle. How is the soup born inside the little dumpling?? So many questions!! I had some here and they were sure tasty!! I also had some killer crispy fried pork belly and some kick ass twice fried Korean wings!! Pork belly had tremendous umami flavors and was sticky sweet and yummy all at once! Loved it! But then came the Star.... I love chicken wings as much as I love life! That my friend, is a whole fucking lot!! I am more full of myself than you could possibly imagine. I loved these particular chicken wings a little more than life. I walked through downtown Nashville alone, on a random weeknight, just to eat these wings because I saw them on Yelp. I had already eaten dinner at Eddie V's earlier in the evening, but these wings called me from more than a mile away... Come eat me, Adam.... As for the market, there is a nice selection of items from Asia or used in Asian dishes. I also found some interesting snack items, including versions of lays potato chips I have never seen in a US based grocery.
