Great food, a lovely ambience, and truly impeccable service. We ordered the crab fried rice and it was amazing--the crab was so fresh and practically melted in your mouth. My husband enjoyed the wonton soup, and we shared a California roll that was perfect to round out the meal. Anna was incredibly attentive and thoughtful, helping us choose dishes she knew we'd love. The restaurant has such a nice vibe, and the menu offers so many great options--you really can't go wrong whether you dine in or grab takeout. We'll definitely be back. Thank you, Anna, for your kindness and for making our experience so special. Happy eating!

Went to A-Roi by Smiley Thai after an unsuccessful trip to the Pantheon. Looked up places to eat around the area, and Yelp did NOT disappoint! The restaurant was empty when we arrived at 2:30 in the afternoon. So we were seated immediately. We ordered Edamame, seaweed salad, and the crab fried rice. The Edamame was okay, nothing to write home about. The seaweed salad was crunchy and tasty. The crab fried rice was a big portion and had a TON of crab in it. And it wasn't even immitation crab! It was actual lump crab. Would have loved to have some white pepper to put on the fried rice, but they didn't have that available. Service was great. Food came out quickly. Street parking was plenty and non-metered; which was definitely a plus.

I had the sushi lunch. Nice size portion with miso soup or salad. I chose miso soup, very hot. Husband has red curry. Husband says it was the best red curry he's had, made with coconut milk. Good customer service, ambience was nice but at times loud. Soft music playing helped drown out the loud conversations. I definitely recommend! Nice size hot sake too.

Stopped by for a late lunch/ early dinner & just in time for happy hour. It's tucked away on the first floor of a residential building with street parking available. Comfortable & beautiful interior with bar seating available. The music is top-tier 90s R & B (Destiny's Child, Jon B) - I jammed the whole time! Love: service (very kind, thoughtful, patient, explained all dishes); pad grapow moo krop (nice balance of sweet/spicy/salty, tender & crispy pork belly); lychee martini Like: crab fried rice (nice chunks of crab; large serving; can make it spicy)

Bar Area/ The whole restaurant is esthetically pleasing and cozy.

The staff is not only beautiful lol but very pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere is beautiful and cozy tucked under a condo building. I ordered to go but decided to have a drink while I waited and omg it was amazing! Once I got to my mom's house with our order when we tasted the food we said omg it's so tasty! Hidden Gem you won't be disappointed! Plenty of free parking on the street around the restaurant!

Vibe as soon as you walk in is so cool and loved all of the plants warming up the space! We went during happy hour (4-6pm) where they have drink/app specials. The Lychitini was a favorite, along with the Red Hulk roll. Prices for the rolls are $$$, but comparable to other spots in town and quality was very fresh and full of flavor. Not to mention, plating of the dishes was beautiful!! This is a great spot for a good mix of sushi and traditional thai dishes like pad kee mao and pad see ew which we also tried and were very impressed with.

I've had their food both delivered an in the restaurant and I have been impressed both times. The food is always hot and freshly prepared. They have a great attention to detail with their presentation for both delivery and in the restaurant. The pad Thai has become one of my favs. I've had nothing but great experiences and will certainly be back time after time.

I came to Nashville for a daxxify conference . I came to the restaurant for lunch . Trust me it's worth the car ride or uber. Came here around 1 pm and I had the whole place to myself. Ordered non alcoholic cocktail and it was exquisite. Beautiful and tasted better than it looked. Next was the tiger shrimp cocktail not on the menu but they made it for me. Suoer humongous shrimps . Juicy and fresh and flavorful . Rival seafood/steakhouse quality shrimps. The fresh oyster was delicious and fresh . The main course was the hulk roll. It was delicious and so many texture crunchiness and flavors fused together to give your tastebuds a party thuê will never forget . The crab fried rice was one of the best fried rice ever . It had the wok fried taste with juicy bug chunks of crab meats . The onion and scallion and garlic added so much flavor to the rice . The rice was moist and it was out of this world . The beef mamasan was equally stunning. The beef was fresh and tender soaked in a bath of creamy star anise coconut milk with crunchy peanuts and potatoes and onions . I couldn't possibly finish everything so I selectively got the rice and beef to go and sadly left the rest of the food there .

Loved this place! The inside is lowly lit and inviting with great aesthetics. Our service was phenomenal and our server was so helpful with food and drink recommendations. Try the happy hour for sure!

**October 31, 2024** I dined at ARoi by Smiley Thai at 6:50 PM. Parking is limited, but I was seated immediately. The server promptly took my drink and food orders. I chose the Crab Fried Rice, Pad See Ew with beef, and a Pink Hamachi roll. I thoroughly enjoyed the Crab Fried Rice; it was moist, flavorful, and generously portioned with lump crab meat, which was a nice bonus. The Pad See Ew had great flavor, although I would have preferred wider noodles. The beef was tender and succulent. The sushi roll was fresh and delicious. Overall, I appreciated both the food and the service. However, the restaurant's ambiance felt a bit dark; our table candle was unlit, and although a server offered to light it towards the end of our meal, we had already finished eating.

Of all the sushi I had while in Nashville, this place stands out above the rest. I came for Happy Hour, which is 3pm-6pm, and it was empty by the time I showed up around 5pm. No matter, the dining room started filling up by the time my group left around 6:30pm. The interior is gorgeous and I loved the Halloween decorations they put up. There's also a rooftop area, but that wasn't open when I came in. I'm sure it looks just as cool, judging by the vibes here. The food is a cross between Japanese and Thai, with some American fusion. I stayed more on the Japanese side, but I was definitely eyeing the Thai-oriented dishes. I loved everything we had - the maki rolls had fresh fish and were perfectly portioned, the oysters on the half shell were divine, and the hot sake provided a nice accompaniment to our meal. Price-wise, this place is reasonable. Expect about $20-$40 per person. Service was friendly and efficient, too, which is always appreciated. We easily found free street parking, so I'm not sure about a parking lot or during peak times. I will absolutely be back and have already encouraged others to come here!!

Wow! This was so fresh so it made it so much better. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable. The decor was cool and the presentation of the dishes was excellent. The bar area was very nice and comfortable music level to carry a conversation without having to scream or raise your voice. They have a rooftop and it's open late with a few food options. Street parking and a little difficult and busy. Just be ready to walk. I definitely recommend this place.

I dined at A Roi by Smiley Thai on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 6:30 pm. The restaurant was mostly empty at this time because of Halloween, but got busier later on. Upon entering, I was enamored by the ambient lighting from the bar and sushi bar since the main dining area was dimly lit. This restaurant has a very straightforward menu combining Japanese and Thai cuisine. I would say a lot of the menu items are typical of what I've seen in all the Japanese-Thai fusion restaurants I've been to (at least in this area). Of course, I had to order the pad se ew to assess the authenticity of the Thai food. I thought it tasted better than most pad se ew's I've had in the area. Good flavor and not too oily. The crabmeat fried rice had a generous portion of crab meat, which was excellent. The pink hamachi sushi roll was delicious and fresh. Service was attentive and nice. Food came out pretty quickly, which was expected given how quiet the restaurant was. Since it was Halloween, I enjoyed the costumes that the staff were dressed in and how restaurant was decorated. Very Halloween-y. I will definitely return to try their other sushi and Thai dishes.

Their Pad Kee Mow (spelling?) was fantastic! Having enjoyed this same dish in Thailand, I was impressed. Plus the service from everyone who worked there was 100% A+!

The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the tofu was browned to perfection. The grilled broccoli and cauliflower were snappy and contrasted well with the rest of the ingredients. The dish had a spicy yet tolerable kick to it, but I have a very high threshold for spice and heat (I added chili oil to take it up a notch!). Also, the portion size is BIG. I was very hungry so I had no issues finishing most of it, but it could easily be shared between two adults, especially if you order an appetizer or side. I loved the interior decor, which was simple yet eye catching. The mural encompassing the entire space in particular looked really cool. The place was packed, but the friendly staff were hustling to keep the line moving.

The hardest part about eating at Degthai is beelining to the Tiew Gang Vegan. (BTW, I am not Vegan, yet I LOVE the Tiew Gang Vegan.) They do everything well - the other curries, the standard noodle dishes, the dumplings - and it can be tempting to just go with your regular go-to dish like Pad Thai w/Chicken (BORRRINGG, but they do it well nonetheless.) You've gotta try the Tiew Gang Vegan. It's truly a once-in-a-year of eating out experience finding a dish this incredible. It competes pound-for-pound in the same heavy hitter weight class as the best Pho, Ramen, Jjamppong, or Beef Noodle Soup you've ever had. I've now been to Degthai 10 times, and have gotten the Tiew Gang Vegan the last 5 times in a row.
