The cool thing is, we were seated quickly, ordered and our food was out in minutes. In fact, it came out even before the wine and beer that we'd ordered (no complaints at all. They don't at all make you feel rushed. Service was excellent!) I didn't even realize I was that hungry when I sat down. Surprised that the Mapo Tofu wasn't good especially since the Cumin Lamb was good. Food was ready in about 30-40 minutes after opening at 11AM. The food orders came with white rice. Service here was similarly excellent in terms of being very prompt, efficient, and friendly! Having traveled across the country for most of the day, both of us ordered (probably) more than was necessary - nevertheless, everything was absolutely EXCELLENT! My feelings on every food dish: Wonton in Chicken Broth - perfect heat and delicious texture/flavor Hot Sauce Style Entree - just the right amount of heat, flavor, and absolutely delicious Scallion Pancake - arguably the most disappointing plate of the evening..but still very solid quality. I went to this establishment and enjoyed the food. A few days later, I ordered the same meal. It was horrible. It tasted stale, was not hot and few vegetables included. The order was place via door dash. I contacted doordash because I forgot to include utensils. I also contacted them directly. Just got off a long commute from Jersey and was starving. This was recommended by the hotel receptionist since it was one of the few places open late. Just a 5 minute walk and it was inside a shopping center. Thankfully I ordered online so I didn't have to wait when I arrived and there was a small line of people waiting. I didn't have super high expectations for the quality of food that late but surprisingly it was all quite good. The dumplings were delicious! My cousins and I came to this location for a holiday luncheon. The decor is cute and the staff was extra friendly and able to assist with our requests to make the dishes mild in spice. When I visited, I got their hot sauce beef, which is their house-made chili oil sauce mixed with beef and a bit of veggies. I love it here. I have eaten in the upper west side location one time and three times I got delivery from the one on Dekalb. I love the wontons in chili oil. The chive pancake was good, but ridiculously over priced for what you get in the order. The vegetable spring roll just tasted like a wet mushroom. Worst spring roll I've had in a while. After a busy evening moving throughout the holiday crowd of Manhattan, we came back to Brooklyn to have dinner in Dekalb Market Hall located conveniently in the mall formerly know as Albee Square Mall. I love this venue, Downtown Brooklyn is almost 15 minutes from Manhattan by train. I thought we would have to wait for a table but surprisingly we were seated quickly by an extremely courteous and friendly staff. I ordered appetizers Wonton in Chili Oil spicy chili sauce with black vinegar, topped with scallions they were served quickly and hot. I enjoyed dinner, Ginger Shredded Duck, stir-fried with bell peppers, bamboo, ginger, and scallions with brown rice. I love spice so I added Hot Mustard. We sipped Dynasty Margaritas (get Mango) with top shelf tequila, chili liquor, lime, lemon, agave....Which was splendid, strong, and highly recommended. I really enjoyed the scallion beef however my sister-in-law, who has dined here before, mentioned that they seemed to really skimp on the beef portion and went heavy on the scallions. My favorite dish was the 3 cup chicken. The chicken was slightly crispy on the outside and tender and juicy in the inside. The sauce that coated the chicken was pleasantly sweet, slightly salty, and sticky. I used the extra sauce at the bottom of the serving dish to drizzle over rice. We also shared fried rice which I felt was nothing really special. It could have used more sauce soy sauce and/or salt. Overall Han Dynasty was a great dining experience. The chicken dry pot had a hefty portion of chicken and several juicy shiitake mushrooms (my love), but wasn't spicy at all despite being the spiciest menu item. They also skimped on the vegetables. The West Lake beef soup was tasty (but mostly because of the obligatory MSG). The rice, however, was absolutely disgraceful. It was dry, hard, and absolutely inedible. The staff is great on ensuring your order is to your liking on spice level and taste. I really like many of their appetizers. The lunch special is great it comes with a meal, a vegetable side, and an appetizer side. Their Szechwan spice is so good, you really get that numb tongue spice. I love the Kung Pao. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at Han Dynasty yesterday. I was at the food hall with my family and they suggested that we check it out after we completed the escape room. With so many options to choose from in the food hall, I am so glad that we went with Han Dynasty because it was fantastic! The menu indicates that the items are usually shared family style, but each person had their own entree and I was able to try different items. I ordered the pork belly buns which had very tender pork belly and crunchiness from peanuts that really elevated the dish. For my entree, I had the garlic chicken which was very flavorful and there were generous amounts of chicken. I also loved how the rice for the table was unlimited so we all were able to have sufficient amounts to balance our meals. I also tried the General Han's chicken, spicy lo mein and sesame pancakes and everything was absolutely delicious! Found this randomly while shopping. I got the dry pepper chicken and white rice. The chicken is VERY spicy, which I LOVED but there wasn't a lot of flavor if that makes sense. I saw another woman ask for like 3 different sauces so if I'm ever back in this part of town again I would definitely add the sauces to it. Can a really good Chinese restaurant exist in a food hall? Does lines out the door mean they serve delicious food? I have asked this question every time I glided down the escalator at Citipoint on my way to Trader Joe's. Then I went in Han Dynasty's website and read the following: 'Our Brooklyn location offers a full bar, space for up to 80 guests, and features a hip hop vibe amongst local artwork and comfy booths, banquets, and the best Sichuan fare in Brooklyn. ' Today I was, you guessed it, on my way to Trader Joe's and decided to check this Dynasty out. I reviewed the menu and saw they offered my fave, Dan Dan Noodles. I entered @1:30 and the place was slightly busy. I didn't want to wait for a table thus opted for bar seating. I was taking the scene in: large party of 12 to my right, large party of 6 to my left and another diner at the bar. The kind waitress took my order, placed my chopsticks, plate and utensils ( see folks, that's the way it should be done, don't ask, bring my chopsticks, love that! ) down and iced water with lemon arrived. First impressions, wow! I picked up my chopsticks and then my server was mixing my Dan Dan noodles in a wok like bowl ( love that part two). I then started to twirl my noodles and voila! that first taste: yummmmmm! Just the right amount of chili oil and sesame paste and oodles of noodles. Downright delicious! Sitting at the lovely bar was also delightful and decided the next time I come I will be tasting one of their cocktails. HD offers lunch specials starting at $12.95 and a variety of Sichuan staples such as Mongolian Beef, dumplings, fried rice varieties and a Happy Hour weekdays from 4-7pm. I came to Han Dynasty on a Saturday night and was able to get a pretty last minute reservation. We ordered a dan dan noodle, a vegetable appetizer with shiitake mushrooms, and the cumin lamb as our main. We received the dan dan noodle and the vegetable dish pretty quickly, but the cumin lamb never came. The staff kept telling us the kitchen was backed up and the cumin lamb would be coming soon, but over an hour later and we were still without our lamb. I took a little while to decide what I wanted, but I did feel he waited a little too long to come back in and check on us.
