Good morning where do I start? This was the day before Thanksgiving. Me and my girlfriend Pam and her sister Button. We were going shopping for the pre Thanksgiving sales. We wanted something to eat for lunch before we went shopping. Pam ask did we had any Ideal what we wanted for lunch. We both didn't so she ask if we wanted ribs? We said that sounds good. But she Forgot the name of the restaurant but know the location. Then she remembered the name of the restaurant and ask me to look it up. So when I looked up, the restaurant Deke's and on the website on my phone. The restaurant was close and doesn't open until 3:00pm. But pan was determined to just drive by just to check to see if it was open. So on our way, we go reach the restaurant. I got out to check the doors. The sign did say open but wasn't for sure. Wow the doors opened up and I was shocked. So hi, pull the doors open.It was a rest of you. Then I opened the other settled doors, which led me into the restaurant. I Look around along, wasn't the front? No one was behind the bar. So I was walking around. Saying hello is anyone in here. Then I walked in The empty restaurant and walked over to the bar to see a man in the kitchen to have.Excuse me , are you open and he came to the front to greet me. He said yes then I ask are y'all serving lunch? He said, let me just check I'll be back. He went to the back and came back and said yes we are serving food. My response was thank you. So we disappear back in the kitchen. And then I spotted a big cat walked around the restaurant. That must be the restaurant pet. So I went back to the front door and did a dance and told Pam and Button to come on in. So pam turned the car off and both of them came in. A woman came out from the back and ask was we sitting in or taken out? We was sitting in to have lunch. So she set us in a booth next wednesday window, that we can look out. Then placed 3 menus on the table. She said take your times and I'll be back. Pakim and butt has been to this restaurant before.I never first time here. Always drove past and never stop. The menu has has a lot of options. This place remind you of a sports bar / restaurant. After deciding what I wanted from the menu, I was looking around snapping pictures and saying to myself, I'm gonna bring my mother back for the ribs and my husband for the pool table. Ok ok, let me tell you about the food. Pam order first, Half a slab of ribs, collard greens and pork and beans because she's been here before and she knew what she wanted then buttons ordered half of slab of ribs potato logs . Then I'm all was last because I like looking over the menu and always undecided. So then I decided to get, I had a half of slab of ribs with pork and beans and potato logs. We also had lemonade ans strawberry lemonade. Just say that the ribs was falling off the bones. Finger looking good and if I was home I will be sucking my bone. The color greens were so good with a little kick of spice. The beans taste like chili without any meat, but delicious. The potato log was nice and tender and seasoned very well. Oh I forgot and the cornbread came with ribs and it was very moist. I just wish I would've asked for some hot sauce. Because I like my rib a little hot. We ask the young lady, why on the web site said the restaurant will open a different time. He stated that customers was picking up a turkey. So then I asked her what kind of a turkey she said they had a turkey meal. With all the trimmings and all the customer had to do is unwrap and place in the oven. All for $210.00 dollar what a great deal. After all that taking and I told them we talking to her and didn't get her name. So when she came back to check up on us I ask her name. And guess what she was the owner and her name is Jackie. And her husband are the owners. Jackie came out and ask how was everything? And I said everything was great, but the collard greens just needed some potato salad. So she went to the back and brought out a sample of the potato salad. All of us took our fork to taste the potatoe salad. I put the collard greens and the potatoe on the fork and it was delicious. So the next time I come back, I'm going to have the ribs, collard greens, potato salad, the potato logs, the pork and beans. We didn't have dessert, or a drink. I'll get the dessert next time and a drink. My Mom Birthday is 12/01 and I'm going bring her here. I already know that Mom is going to order a half slab of ribs with the potato logs and a drink. They also have open mic, and much more thing to do with family and friends. Thanks Jackie I had a nice experience.

My uncle is a fan of Deke's so with that recommendation I was excited to give them a try. When I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. My fist concern was about parking so I parked on the street and walked over. I was surprised to see the had a very nice size parking lot and really festive outdoor seating which would be great in the warm weather. Inside was packed with people eating and enjoying a game on the large tv's. I was directed to a kiosk to put in a to go order. My food was done pretty quickly. I was looking forward to the brisket the most and it disappointed me terribly. I read some reviews after and agree with the people who said it tasted like it was oven baked. No bbq flavor whatsoever and no smoke ring. It was cut too thick and had a layer of fat on top. Definitely needed more sauce and there was no option for extra sauce on the side that I saw. Somebody out there please tell me where I can get some proper bbq brisket. I also got the baby back ribs. They were tender and had good flavor. I was happy with those and would get a full rack next time. But failing on the brisket I can't go past two stars.

I came here the other day with a big group of family. Such a cool spot with plenty of space indoor and outdoor. Fast and great service, clean establishment and great atmosphere. The food I ordered was just okay. Some of the people in my group ordered the brisket sandwich and that seemed like the real winner. Everyone that ordered the brisket sandwich had zero complaints. I ordered the chopped bbq chicken sandwich and I couldn't finish it. Also ordered sides of collard green, bbq baked beans and cornbread. Order the cornbread! Absolutely delicious and on the sweeter side. Greens and beans on the other hand gets a big thumbs down from me. No one in the group wanted to finish them. I'll definitely come back because it really is a cool spot and great in the summertime. Plenty of parking space! Next time I will order something different!

Did I go Deke's BBQ twice in one week for happy hour? Mind your business. The brisket is top tier, full stop. Both the brisket cheesesteak (wiz with) and the brisket nachos both were amazingly good. Bbq sauce is divine, meat so tender. I'd give the baby back ribs a solid 7/10, but they just can't compare to that brisket babyyyy. BOGO margs are strong! Exercise caution

My friends and I ordered Deke's while we were at Attic Brewing next door. Our food was ready pretty quickly-about 10-15 minutes! The brisket cheesesteak was SO SO good (and I'm not always a huge cheesesteak fan). The bbq flavor plus the gooey cheese was an excellent combo. The fries are great too-nice and crispy wedge cuts! The prices were reasonable for the food and the portions were great sizes. The sandwiches all came with small sides of pickles and coleslaw. Would definitely order from there again!

Stopped in with a buddy for lunch. The inside is open and airy, with plenty of outdoor seating available. The bartender was friendly and efficient. Along with the chicken, we had the ribs. Both were moist and tasty. Big portions.

The waiter was nice and helpful with the menu. She gave me time to decide what I wanted to order. I ordered the Half Rack Ribs and a small order of Baked Beans with a Yuengling beer. We ordered their: (1) brisket (rating 2.0/5) -- This was quite dry. I was also surprised to see only 3 small slices after ordering a half pound. After seeing Mike's show up constantly whenever people online ask about Philly's best BBQ, I was greatly disappointed. (2) brisket cheese steak (rating 4.0/5) -- This was better than the brisket by itself. The cheese and other condiments likely helped with the dryness, so this was decent, although a bit small. This was maybe a little too salty, but I liked the bread. (3) mac and cheese (rating 3.5/5) -- Not the best mac and cheese I've ever had, but not bad either. Decently cheesy with good flavor. I'd say it's slightly above average. (4) cole slaw (rating 1.5/5) -- Strongly tasted of vinegar and even seemed a bit spicy. It was weird. (5) cornbread (rating 4.0/5) -- To be honest, I like most cornbread, even the cheap kind from a pre-made mix and fast food cornbread. So while I enjoyed the cornbread here too, it wasn't my favorite. I prefer the outer layer to be crispier and it could have been less crumbly on the inside. Service Notes: This is a fast casual place and service was fine. Food came out quite fast. TLDR: No way this is considered the best BBQ in Philly. They were mediocre at best and also fairly expensive for the amount you get, so my hunt continues for a great local BBQ place.

I really liked the location and ambiance of Fette Sau. The chicken was outstanding--moist, flavorful, and one of the highlights of the meal. We also enjoyed the ribs. They were huge, tender, and very tasty. Unfortunately, there were several disappointments, which is why Fette Sau only earns 3 stars from us. When it comes to brisket, I'm not accustomed to BBQ restaurants serving almost exclusively the point cut or fat cap. We ordered a pound of brisket and could only eat about a quarter of it because it was simply too fatty for our taste. We strongly prefer the flat cut, which can still be incredibly moist and flavorful when prepared well. A combination of both cuts would have been fine, but receiving mostly fat was a major letdown. The large mac and cheese side easily fed the three of us, but it was very dry and lacked flavor. The cornbread muffin was similarly disappointing--dry and bland. I'm glad we took the time to visit because the atmosphere, chicken, and ribs were enjoyable, but given the brisket and sides, I don't see us returning.

I can't go often, since it's not that close to me, but when I go, I typically order the rib platter. I typically get the same sides (beans and mac n cheese) along with cornbread. It is certainly more deserving than my initial 3 star review on my successive visits, but I never updated my review. Not everyone will love the sauce, which tastes more tomato-based, but that's okay. As I've gotten older, I appreciate it more. It's almost like... they put... ketchup... in the sauce... and if that's what it is, I'm fine with it. It tastes good. The ribs on that initial visit were tough; that's not a lie. On three visits afterwards, it was not as tough as the first time. On my most recent visit today, the ribs were really, really tender. Like... this is how tender ribs should be. The only difference between my experiences before versus now is I placed a takeout order this time whereas I always ate at the restaurant before. If takeout will always yield the freshest, most tender ribs, I'm good with ordering takeout from now on. The ribs were tender to the point of being delicate. They were SO GOOD. Even the rib that looked like it could've been tough was tender. That's how you know ribs are good. I would give 5 stars for just the ribs alone, but aha... there were more items... baked beans... SO GOOD... they have sausage bits in them. Cornbread... baked fresh and cut in front of my eyes... WARM, SOFT, FLUFFY.... SOoo GOOOOD... the mac n cheese... well, ehhh... can't win them all... it was just mac n cheese. I have to remember to order something other than mac n cheese next time, but I always forget because I don't go here often enough. Still, this is a 5 star meal all the way and I look forward to more meals like this. I thought I had to drive over to Camden all this time to get tender ribs. Let's say that all again... the ribs are damn good... tender and juicy. Yums. Go get some. Parking lot on the premises. Hope you get the same experience I just did.

(About $28) Everything was very good...but the spicy greens really stood out...like nothing I ever had before. The meal also came with cornbread, which was really good. There is a little condiment bar on the side with lots of sauces and other items including pickles, peppers, onions, pickled onions and cinnamon honey butter (for your cornbread of course). You are welcome to take whatever you like from there. I would love to return to try some other items. The space was very well-maintained and had some cool decor throughout. We're never great at eating our money's worth, so the pay-as-you-go setup felt like a better fit. We got the favorite set for two, which ended up being plenty. The biggest highlight right away: they grill everything for you. KBBQ is just better when you can sit back and eat instead of managing the grill yourself. They also use a back grill to keep things moving, so there's barely any pause between rounds of meat. It felt really efficient. Also, the place is surprisingly clean and doesn't have that heavy "you're going to smell like smoke for the next 5 hours" vibe, which I really appreciated. Somehow they keep it all under control even with constant grilling. Service-wise, the staff were attentive and clearly working hard, especially since it seemed a bit understaffed. That said, my friend did feel a little uncomfortable at times. There were a few moments where it felt like we were being watched closely, almost like they were worried about a dine-and-dash situation, and we were asked multiple times if we had paid. I personally read it more as things being slightly disorganized with a small team juggling cooking, serving, and payments, but I can see how it might come across differently depending on how you interpret it. Food-wise, the meat was very good, but the banchan really stood out to me. The cabbage salad with a gingery soy dressing was super refreshing and cut through the richness of the meat perfectly. Free refills on banchan are always a win too. I also liked that the grill came with corn cheese, egg, and sprouts, nice extras you don't always get. The corn cheese wasn't as sweet as I expected, and the egg was a bit on the salty side, but still enjoyable. The tilted grill setup was another plus since it lets the grease drain away, so the meal didn't feel overly heavy like some AYCE spots. Overall, it was a really fun experience. A bit pricey, but worth it for the quality and how easy the whole meal felt. Just something to be aware of with the service dynamic depending on how sensitive you are to that kind of thing.

I ordered a $19 cocktail and asked them to make it less sweet but it was still very sweet and syrupy, so I didn't even really drink it. We ordered the hanging bacon for $19 which I was excited about. For the price and hype, I kind of thought it would be fancy or thick-cut bacon, but it was just regular thin bacon like you get at the grocery store. I will say it was cooked well, the sweet habanero sauce was excellent, and the cornbread underneath the bacon was good too. Just seemed kind of overpriced and hyped. I tried to order the bacon and lobster Alfredo. The server came back and said they were out of lobster so I asked for another menu. My friend tried to order the burnt ends entree, but they were out of that, too. They were out of asparagus so the server said they would substitute broccoli instead. We ordered the blackened salmon that was supposed to have a mango salsa topping. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus (sub broc). However, it was plain when it got dropped off and I later asked the server about the salsa and was told they were out of salsa as well. I ended up using the habanero sauce that came with the hanging bacon to add a little flavor to the dish. It would have been a nice mention when they dropped the food off instead of me having to ask for it. The other entree we got was like a braised pork on mashed potatoes with cornbread. The server said "that comes with asparagus so would you like the broccoli instead?" I told her, "the menu doesn't say it comes with that but if so, I guess sub the broccoli." When she brought that dish to us, she said "I asked the chef to put broccoli on because you asked for it." I was annoyed because I already had told her the menu didn't say anything about a vegetable with that dish. They did charge me $3 extra for the "added" broccoli. It wasn't the price, but that the server was not knowledgeable about the menu, offered me something I questioned her specifically about, and then charged me extra for it as if I asked for it. I would like to reiterate, though, that she was very sweet throughout. The lack of menu items on a menu that isn't that big, and has some repeats between the appetizers and entrees, was laughable by the end. The food that we did get was cooked well and tasted fine, but was pretty basic and in my opinion, overpriced for what it was. I think it would avoid confusion and disappointment if the server told you what they were out of when you sat down, so you could make an informed menu choice, as I've had this happen at other restaurants where it was not a big deal that they were out of a dish or item. But this place was out of so many things on a Thursday night. I was really hoping this would be a regular neighborhood place for me, but I will not be back.

Staying locally and stumbled upon this corner gem. The restaurant is a combination of urban chic…read moreand comfort food. Graffiti feel with clean, sleek lines and awesome music. Met one of the owners Justin and he and staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating if they tried. They have an event space above the restaurant and the whole vibe was amazing. Unique menu.... items a little pricey, but well worth the taste! Stopped in for brunch, but would love to be back for dinner! Would definitely recommend.
