This review is for a private party we attended last night. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Del Lusso's restaurant space may seem a little on the smaller side, but don't be mistaken, we had a party of 40 and there was plenty of room (all inside).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And they didn't have to shut down the restaurant either. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The party host was allowed to come in and decorate the place settings as well as bring in a mic and speaker for entertainment and speaking. It was a wonderful set up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As a party guest I was greeted just as if I was there for a private dinner. Each of us were asked what we'd like to drink and throughout the dinner the staff made sure to refill all of our drinks. I got an Arnold Palmer and hubby got a beer. Both were refilled at least once - mine maybe twice (strangely I can't remember - shows how seamlessly it happened). Even serving 40 people, basically at the same time, our dinners came out quickly and they were absolutely delicious. Everybody raved at how good the food was. I saw a lot of Chicken Parmesan, various pizzas and Pasta Fettuccine, etc. The servers were happy to help and make sure everyone had everything they needed. And as soon as people started finishing, they were boxing up leftovers and even placed them off to the side for us to pick up later. That made a big difference. It's the little things. The host brought a cake in for the birthday boy and allowed counterspace to cut and serve it as well. I'm telling you it was such a good experience. You really get personalized service and help here. The attitude of the staff was upbeat and hospitable. I never sensed stress or irritation, which really made a difference. The food was top-notch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was amazing and the place was comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Why haven't I had a party here before? Haha

Not sure what took us so long to try this place out but very happy we finally did! The gluten free pizza was outstanding! It was definitely NOT the prefab rice cracker crust most places offer! Apparently the meatball sandwich was outstanding as well! The service was also excellent! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have outdoor seating and are dog friendly![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also another plus

We come here often. The food and service both are great. You're always greeted with a friendly "Hello" by their staff or often the owner, Walter. My son loves their pizza. The dough is always light, soft and crunchy all at the same time. They have amazing pastas and refreshing salads. Wine list is delicious too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Coming here always feels like you're home being taken cared by Uncle Walter.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Spaghetti all Francisco and fettuccine ai Gamberri Rosso are my fav. Del Lusso never disappoints.

If Del Lusso cooked their pizza the way they cook their excuses, this would've been a great meal. Unfortunately, the excuses were the only thing fully done. Prices were ~20% higher than their website. I pointed it out immediately. The response: "We haven't updated the website, I guess we should." Happy Hour menu clearly says "Half Off Bottles & Glasses" -- but they refused to honor it. Manager said it's "only Wednesdays," then added "it depends how you read it." "Cheesy" flatbread had almost no cheese. L'Americano pizza tasted good but was undercooked -- pale dough, flat pepperoni, cheese not fully melted. When I pointed it out, I was told "that's the way they do it in Naples." I've eaten plenty of pizza in Naples -- that's not how they do it. When boxing the leftovers, my server even joked, "Maybe when you reheat it you can cook it the rest of the way." [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating was visibly dirty -- stained upholstery and worn fabric.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Server was great; management was not. I left after one glass and had a much better drink next door. Not recommended until they fix the basics.

Wow it's been awhile since I've been here, for lunch I had the spaghetti Bolognese and also the meatballs. Brought me back to Naples where I lived for 8 years while I was in the Navy. You can taste the freshness of the pasta, and the San Marzano tomatoes. The meatballs were decadent and melted in your mouth and they use Fior di Latte for their mozzarella. I was too full to get dessert, but the gelato and the tiramisu look promising. Can't wait to come back.

There is no better Neopolitana-style pizza around. This is the light Italian style pizza that you don't feel gross or heavy after eating. Made with ingredients from Italy and done right. Pasta was perfect as well! This is the Fungi, Gallucci, and Amatricana. Walter and his team at Del Lusso kill it every time, and the food is incredible. I can never get a picture until it has been half eaten because we cant help ourselves! Absolute MUST try!!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Immediately amazing vibes as soon as my friends and I arrived.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owner, Walter, greeted and sat us. He told us a bit about himself and the food and asked us questions. He was so friendly and informative. Our waiter was also really nice! The food was phenomenal. You must try the flat bread and dip, it's the best I've ever had! We also got the slow roasted pork poutine, that was super good. The pastas we ordered was so good, we got the : Fettuccine ai Gamberi Rosso, Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken, and Chicken Saltimbocca. Would get them all again!

Food was amazing as well as the service. We were celebrating my son's birthday and he was very happy with the service. I forgot the young lady's name but my son said "I like her vibe" lol he's only 10. She made our dinning experience amazing. Thank you!!

Met my parents at Del Lusso last night following a family event. We were kindly greeted near the entrance by our server Salma. She quickly sat us at the table of our choice and took our drink orders. I couldn't help but notice the beautiful ambiance with patio seating as well abundant indoor seating. We ordered the mediterranean salad, and a pizza (Pepperoni). The pizza was absolutely amazing and to no surprise we were informed the dough is imported from Italy (Super fine, 00). Overall, very pleased with my experience there and was able to impress my father who is Sicilian. 10/10 would recommend.

Came in the other night and celebrated my wife's birthday with a party of 12. Food, service, ambience, phenomenal. The owner Walter always goes out of his way to make sure that all his guests are having a good time enjoying their evening. One reason we keep coming back is the fact that he makes everyone feel like they're eating in his home in his kitchen. You can never find the attention to detail in any restaurant these days. My wife is celiac and Del Lusso offers gluten free options for pizza and pasta. If you're in town or live here, it's a must try! 5 Stars

Update to my original review: It's been quite some time since I've last been here, as I've moved about an hour away. Per usual, the dough is PERFECT. Aside from the food, my favorite part about this restaurant is that it does NOT matter who's in the kitchen, the food is consistent and tastes great! We do vary from time to time, but my staples are still the L'Americano pizza (add ricotta), Amatriciana spaghetti, and OF COURSE: stacked caprese to start. Just as before, you'll likely have the chance to meet the owner at the restaurant. He's a great guy that clearly takes pride in the quality of food as well as the service you receive! If this place is on your radar, it's time you check it out!

Service is fast and friendly and great for kids. The reviews for Del Lusso great so we opted in. We came in on a rainy Friday evening. We were seated immediately by the very nice server. I got a glass of Barbara from their wine list. Unfortunately, upon leaving, I noticed they had a sign up advertising bottles of wine on sale for $15 from $45. I wish we had been made aware of the special before I ordered a $14 glass of wine. We would've definitely shared a bottle. The indoor space is on the dark side with seemingly opposing vibes - colored orb lights on tables, brick walls, and retro 70s era chairs. Mediterranean Salad - I enjoyed the ample amount of olives, and the flavor of the olive oil in the dressing tasted quality. The dressing was evenly distributed and the large chunks of feta were a nice touch. The regular size was perfect for 2 people sharing. Diavola Pizza (gluten free crust) - The San Marzano red sauce was light and flavorful, pairing well with the little chunks of Fior di Latte cheese spread around the pizza. They didn't skimp on the Napoli salami. The gluten free crust was pretty good, but quite soft. It was a thinner and chewy crust. The pizza could've used an extra minute or two in the oven to brown up a little more. The gf crust was an additional $8, which is on the higher end that I've seen. I meant to ask if they make it in house. Like the salad, the pizza was a good size to share between 2 people. Gelato - We were enticed by the Italian Pistachio, but they were out that day, so we opted for one scoop of Banana Dulce de Leche and one of Espresso. The banana dulce was SO flavorful with goopy chunks of dulce de leche throughout. The espresso was very good - not too sweet and packed a nice coffee-flavored punch.

I love Del Lusso restaurant, and I want to tell you why I think you'll love it as well. First, the menu offers a wide variety of unique appetizers and main dishes, including pastas and pizzas, that satisfy the tastes of vegetarians and meat eaters alike. My favorites are the flavorful flatbread followed by a Margarita pizza. Its fresh ingredients and distinctive crust, made from flour imported from Italy, make Del Lusso's pizza the most delicious I've ever tasted. I also love the Mediterranean side salad. Unlike other restaurants, Del Lusso doesn't skimp on their house side salad. Amply filled with tomatoes, feta cheese, cucumbers, Kalamata olives, white onion, and capers, then topped with a delicious savory dressing, this side salad easily feeds two. And, since no Italian meal is complete without an inviting wine, Del Lusso scores big in this category as well. With an ample selection of carefully curated imported and domestic offerings, both the connoisseur and the casual imbiber will find something to please. And, if needed, the wait staff are there to provide a well informed recommendation. But, not only are they knowledgable about food and drink, the wait staff are personable, friendly, and able to artfully balance attentiveness without hovering or making you feel rushed. All the while you will enjoy your dining experience in a casual outdoor or partially enclosed indoor space, with a warming fire pit that provides cozy dining on chilly evenings. And while intimate, it is never feels cramped and is as accommodating to larger parties celebrating a special occasion as it is to those simply seeking a relaxing meal after a hectic day's work. What makes Del Lusso's magic happen are its owners, Walter and Tricia Wong. Unlike the often impersonal feel of larger corporate or chain restaurants, these are warm, generous, and caring people. Their top priorities are to personally deliver quality food at reasonable prices while making each customer feel special. And they deliver! You'll see Trisha behind the counter efficiently handling takeout orders, beverage delivery, coordinating the work of servers, and greeting guests at their tables. But despite all of this, she's never too busy for a big smile and warm hello to all. Then there is Walter overlooking the tables, making sure that each customer's needs are being met, in between warm greetings, sincerely meant, to everyone who enters. And, if you become a regular at Del Lusso, you'll receive a big hug that makes you feel like family. I hope you will treat yourself to a meal at Del Lusso. This is our 7th time here. We invited our neighbors to join us! I always order the gluten free flat bread and gluten free pasta! We've tried several items and all delicious . Today we had sausage and peppers on pasta! Followed by two different desserts! Our waiter, Mike was spot on, always checking on us! Walter, the owner, was very gracious, stopping by our table! We were very comfortable sitting inside! We highly recommend Del Lusso! read more

Our server,Angelina, was awesome and that is the only good thing to say. Ate there 2 years ago and food was marginal, but decided to try again and support local Carlsbad owners. Big mistake. Food is way overpriced as well as their non alcoholic drinks. Pizza is bascially cold pita bread with toppings that appear to be not handmade nor fresh. Fennel sausage that is hard and cubed is not handmade, I don't believe. Ambience was terrible. Roll up doors were open and it was very cold in there. Felt like we were eating in an garage ice cream shop with the stark white walls. Bottom line $400 for 6 adults and one child. read more

This place was great!! From the food to the excellent service! Our server was so kind and checked in on us consistently through the night! We had L'Americana pizza which was a hot honey pepperoni pizza. It was soooo yummy and I loved the crust! It's a softer crust which I did not mind. We also had the Caesar salad which was super yummy! It had a nice lemon flavor throughout in the dressing which I found refreshing and delicious! Lastly, we ended our meal with the warm brownie topped with Madagascar vanilla gelato and nuts. It was soooo yummy and comforting to eat especially on a cold rainy day. The owner actually came up to us towards the end of our meal and asked us how we liked everything. He was very kind and also brought our water when we noticed we were in need of it! Truly had such a great experience here and I would recommend anyone to come! Next time, I want to try the pasta!! Great Neapolitan pizza. Dough is imported from Italy and its very light and yummy. Fresh ingredients made the pizzas really tasty. The fennel sausage was so good. My son and husband shared the pepper pizza. They drizzle a honey spicy oil which they didn't care for but when we return, they will ask for it to be omitted. My daughters and I shared the Fungi and the ricotta, fennel sausage pizza. They were both white pizzas and so good. The thin crust was awesome - crispy and full of flavor. They also have Mexican coke, which my kids loved and raspberry cheesecake. The location is in an industry park but the atmosphere is really chill. read more

Ordered spaghetti with marinara and added some grilled chicken. The sauce tasted homemade and had a good depth of flavor. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned. It came out quickly and was presented nicely with a sprinkle of parmesan on top. The space was casual and perfect for a relaxed dinner. Service was decent, nothing over the top but friendly enough. I never write reviews, but your hours of operation should be your hours of operation. We showed up at 8:15PM, the posted hours on Yelp, and at the restaurant were from 11AM-9PM, we were told the kitchen was closed. That's bad business! read more

Every time I think about this restaurant, I get angry. After eating here I will never say it's just pizza, it can't be bad. Cause it can be awful! It started out quite promising when the owner came over and chatted with us for a while about what's on the menu, the imported flour from Italy that they use to make the pizza crust and his road to becoming a restaurant owner. Very nice and now he had us all hooked...we were all excited about our pizza and the food. We ordered a margherita and vegetable pizza and the penne with meatballs. All of it was so so awful! The food is so bland, literally no flavor whatsoever. The sauce on the margherita tasted like canned tomato sauce. The crust to pizza ratio on the vegetable pizza is crazy! It was literally a flat bread with some flavorless veggies thrown into the center with a 2 inch crust. We all looked at each other in sheer awe of how not good the pizza was because our expectations after hearing from the owner we so high. It does get worse. Let's get to penne and meatballs. No, No, No! The penne sauce, same canned flavorless sauce on the margherita. The meatball takes the cake (like a hard, dense cake that is). It was so hard, so dry and so bland I was in disbelief that someone could make such a terrible meatball. After eating a bite of the meatball and pasta, we called the server over and shared with her our complete disappointment about the quality of the food. We paid for the pizzas (which are way overpriced) but not the pasta. On a somewhat positive note, this place did give me a feeling of nostalgia. Took me back to my childhood of eating Ellios pizza and the Salisbury steak in tv dinners or the burgers that floated in water in the school cafeteria (you know the crater burgers). So if you are looking to relive some childhood memories of basic, flavorless and questionable food, this would be your place. read more

Reminded me of amusement park food. It's ok. The pasta is good. Alfredo was yummy with some added (powder because there didn't offer fresh shaved) parm. The Italian salad was fresh. The chicken saltimbocca was literally inedible. We didn't even finish chewing. Brought it back for the dogs - but - honestly - no joke - didn't give it to my babes because what if? It's more of a pasta place. (Def don't get the chicken) They need to call in an upholstery cleaner for the booths that line the wall because they dirty AF. We won't be back. We are local. And we have given them a few chances before. But, they aren't great.. and their prices are insane. Just look at up "Italian near me" and look for yourself. read more

Happened to catch Happy Hour on a recent Friday afternoon with a friend visiting from out of town. WOW! What a fantastic experience from start to finish. We were seated by the owner, Walter. We were undecided on what to try and Walter gave us his recommendations for both food and wine, all were perfection. Shared the gelato for dessert, you get two large scoops - yum! Walter and our server checked on us regularly. Each employee we encountered was genuinely interested in making our experience the best. Can't wait to go back! read more

First time trying this spot, looked great online so why not! It DID NOT disappoint!! Gotta get the L'Americano, the hot honey takes it to another level of flavor! Their burrata arugula salad is nice and fresh, the margarita had great flavor, the thin crust is outstanding. Their customer service is outstanding, extremely nice and pleasant. "We got friendship. The kind that lasts a lifetime." Chris Stapleton We've made two visits to Del Lusso Pizza and during those visits we've managed to meet both owners (separately). Walter and Ron met as kids in Montreal, Canada, and likely had no idea how deep their bond would become. Now years later they live on the same street and own this place together. Since "Del Lusso" means "of luxury" in Italian, they set out to do this right (including moving to Italy for a period to study how to properly craft a molto bueno pizza)! (By the way, bonus points are available to anyone who can spot the bougie logo hidden within the Del Lusso sign mounted on the brick wall. Only half of our Review Team spotted it.) If you choose to visit, we'd recommend planning on three courses. The "Lusso Meatballs" featured an amazing marinara sauce, the "Galluci Pizza" tasted incredibly fresh (without making you feeling weighed down afterwards), and the gelato? Please don't get us started. The selections will vary, but we couldn't resist sampling all of the current offerings (Banana Caramel, Pistachio, Coconut, and Chocolate). Indoor and outdoor seating is available, the music is upbeat and contemporary, and takeout (including gelato) is available. We're thankful that after all of these years Walter and Ron are still friends and we can't help but wonder...any chance you could add Henry's Take to your circle of friends? I have eaten here twice and the second time was better than the first. I have had their pizza both times and it is just delicious. I learned on my second visit that you can request some different toppings that are not listed on the pizza menu and that made a huge difference for me. I wish I had known that the first time. The menu doesn't show a lot of vegetarian options but I found you can request veggies go be added to your pizza. The environment is incredibly loud. Sitting inside would make it impossible to have any type of conversation. Outside is better but still noisy because of the patrons at the neighboring restaurants. Our server was very friendly. I had the greek salad which was tasty but had way too much dressing on it. Next time I would ask for 1/2 the amount of dressing. Be prepared to want to eat the whole pizza -they aren't that big and they are super tasty. read more

Buon appetito! Pizza and Italian cuisine lovers, come one and come all! This rustically chic, and pop culture infused eatery will knock your taste buds straight to Naples. I recently dropped in for lunch with my wife, and let me tell you... the service was just as superb as the Margherita pie. Hana greeted us with a huge smile and sat us down immediately. She took the time to answer our questions about the menu and specials, as well as letting us know how long the meal would take to make since we were in a rush to get back to the office for work. Hana delighted us with some facts about the establishment, the style of Italian cuisine they make vs. American style knock-offs. And, the owner came out to greet us and ask us how things were going as well! I mean come on now...what better experience could you ask for? Cool details like 1) Lemon wedges in your root beer and 2) San Marzano red sauce, really make for an unparalleled bite. I'm raving here for a reason, but don't take my words for it, go and let your palette speak for itself! Thank you Hana and Del Lusso for making our tummy's smile today! read more

The owner himself came over to chat and was rather lovely, as were the other staff. The Spaghetti Bolognese had a flawless little kick of spice to complement the intensity of its sauce, which I appreciated. The Margarita Pizza was impeccable, especially for the special price we got it for. read more

What a wonderful surprise this delicious restaurant was! We were greeted by the owner, who explained that the ingredients are all fresh and made to order. We started with the absolutely best Mediterranean flat bread which was perfectly baked and would have have tasty on its own, but was accompanied by a the owners recipe for a dip made of EVOO, fresh garlic and basil. I could have eaten the dip with a spoon!! We also ordered the fettuccine Alfredo, and penne with meatballs. Both dishes were perfectly made and scrumptious . First time eating here; Why did we wait so long? Good selection of items on the menu for both food and wines by the glass. Pizza is tasty! Also shared a pasta and mediterranian salad. Oh, and the Sausage and Peppers appetizer: all food were good portion size & tasty too. Ate leftovers the next day I've heard about this place for 3 + years and walked by it on the way to a different restaurant; Glad we finally decided to eat there. So Should You! My partner and I found this place through yelp. We had been looking for a good Italian place to have lunch when we stumbled upon Del Lusso, which happened to be THE best Italian food we've had in quite some time. When we walked up to be seated, Walter welcomed us in, pulled out both our chairs and treated us with such kindness, professionalism and warmth. Through polite conversation, we found that he was actually the owner. He explained how the menu worked, how all the food down to the flour is from Mediterranean Italy and that no food is frozen. The food was absolutely immaculate and almost left you speechless. Walter welcomed us with complimentary flat bread with a basil garlic olive oil which was light, delicious and perfect appetizer. Our waiter Michael was an absolute delight, made sure we had everything we needed and offered some phenomenal recommendations (get the banana Dulce de leche gelato). We ordered the truffle fries, fettuccine with breaded chicken, fettuccine ai gamberi rosso, and the prosciutto whit pizza. Everything was absolutely perfect. More people need to be eating here!! Decided to come to this restaurant after going to K1 Speed racing and found it to be absolutely delicious. We got the Caesar salad and the calzone and the pizza of the day. I called in an order for the Chicken and sun-dried tomatoes pizza, then drove over from my hotel across the street. Walking up to Del Lusso at night is fun as you walk by a 10'x10' fire pit next to the outdoor diners. There were indoor and outdoor seating available. Staff were friendly and my pizza was ready. Back at the hotel the pizza was still warm and it was delicious. Not a fan of red sauce, I really enjoyed the white sauce pizza with garlic and sun-dried tomatoes. Next time I want to try the fungi pizza. read more

Wow! My family and I stopped by Del Lusso for a late lunch, and everything was absolutely phenomenal! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and outstanding service. My husband ordered the Fettuccine ai Gamberi Rosso, and I had the Spaghetti all Francesco--both were incredibly flavorful and cooked to perfection. Our daughter enjoyed their kids' cheese pizza, which was a hit! Every dish was fresh, authentic, and bursting with flavor. A special shoutout to our wonderful waitress, Hannah, who provided impeccable service, and to Walter (the owner), who made our experience even more special with his personable and welcoming presence. And whatever you do, do not skip dessert! Their tiramisu and gelato were the perfect way to end our meal--so rich, creamy, and delicious! We will most definitely be back. Came to eat here at the recommendation of a friend. Pretty expensive for what it is, in my opinion. At this price point, I would expect fresh and high-quality ingredients and generous servings. I felt the pizza here was pretty standard. They advertise that all their ingredients are imported from Italy - not sure if that's the case, I couldn't tell by the taste of the meats. One star for the on-time order (perhaps too early). I arrived ten minutes early on 1/3 for a pickup order of a small sausage and mushroom red pizza with Sub Mozzarella di Bufala, $29.00 plus tax and tip. They pulled my pizza out of the oven, boxed it and sent me on my way. At home I found a pizza with virtually no red sauce, undetectable Mozzarella (a $6 add-on) and a very soggy, half baked crust. Not the experience I had hoped for! I called to provide feedback and was told the manager would call me back. The next day I still hadn't heard from them. I called again and left a voicemail requesting an opportunity to provide feedback. Still no callback. There are a lot of quality pizza restaurants out there with good prices. In my opinion Del Lusso Pizza is not one of them. Buyer be aware! read more

This was my 2nd time here, first after the lock down ended. It was an average to below average experience. I would have loved to have left a higher rating and I tried my hardest to decide what's appropriate but so many things went wrong. I ordered a chicken parmigiana sandwich with our young server. I think he was struggling trying to get all the details and also serve 3 other tables. The place wasn't super busy but it was him and another girl serving tables. I also ordered a salad as an appetizer and when he brought it out I asked for black pepper. It never came so I went ahead and ate it anyway, not the end of the world. My sandwich came and I asked for some extra grated cheese and ketchup for the French fries but I realized it may be a while before he would have remembered so I decided to start eating so my "hot" sandwich would not get cold. First bite...it was cold. Actually, one side of the sandwich was warm, the other not just cold but refrigerator cold! At this point, I started getting worried as to how "healthy" the food was going to be if it wasn't cooked properly. So, I flagged someone down and told them. Of course, they apologized profusely and I asked for another sandwich not this one to be stuck back in the oven. 10' to 15' later, they brought another one which now it was blazing hot so I had to wait a few minutes before I could even bite into it. I took a bite and the chicken was barely lukewarm inside. Well, I was starving so I wasn't going to ask for another one and wait another 15'. The owner came around to ask (all clients) how things were, told him in a nice way since he was very polite anyway, he apologized over and over etc. At any rate, we ended up paying over $90 for two sandwiches, a big salad and only two drinks. So, typical of post Covid lock down, food is more expensive but in this place the experience was a let down. PS. I am editing this review to address the, surprisingly, inconsiderate reply by the business owner; I am attaching the picture of the menu, yes, it was chicken parmigiana but it was the breaded chicken sandwich, sorry that I couldn't remember the name "Milanese". Walter, yes, we did meet and this review is from a couple of months ago when masks were required. In all my years of reviewing places, I have never ever received such a rude response. We did meet, you even asked "how are the kids doing" (like you know them personally)... Being in denial is a problem within and it's sad that you do not see my review as an opportunity to improve your services but you would rather take it personally... read more

Our family loves visiting Del Lusso Restaurant. Everyone has their favorites and it is ALL good! I've never had anything I didn't like. The portions are good and I usually take some home for lunch the next day. The owners, Walter & Trish are exceptional and one can tell they really care about their customers and the customers experience, not to mention the detail paid to the food. Darned, we devoured them so quickly that w forgot to take pictures. Recently (in fact it was just four days ago) we decided to return since we were nearby. This time, I had the "salad-jones" and decided on salmon over a bed of greens at La Vida, while my partner decided on sweets and coffee drinks. I was here the other day and the manager of the place called members of my company racial slurs because we inquired about cleaning our hands in Del Lusso's open bathroom (the neighboring restaurant was closed inside). There is a viral pandemic in process...really? But, I looked past it. Then, the same manager proceeded to call my friends "NIGGER", "CAMEL JOCKEY", and myself a "SPIC". WTF??? ...We were just trying to curb CoV-2 transmission...really, WTF! (he's also the first restaurant worker[sic] I've witnessed recently who neglected to wear a mask when working in a restaurant.) I would not waste your time going to a place like this. Think about the times we're all in right now; think about the world; and, think about how your money can be put to better use than promoting pandemic resurgence and integrated racism. This place oozes prejudice, and to top it off, their pizza actually sucks. Go somewhere else is you have any morals whatsoever; please, for the sake of morality at least...there are so many better options than giving your time, money, and expectations to a place that promotes that nonsense. Negative 100,000,000 stars + a possible law suit. Please, do us and the rest of the World a favor. read more

I met owner Walter Wong thru our family members~ Warm, friendly, and passionate about his food creations and pleasing each customer who walks thru his doors. Over the years we have indulged in his scrumptious appetizers (oh those garlicky shrimp to-die -for), pizza's, pasta's, and so much more. This visit was epoch. Walter was kind enough to choose our dishes. First the shrimp of course, crusty bread and olive oil chock full of garlic and herbs. Then the pizzas- a spicy Diavolo, a specialty shrimp pizza & the Fibri Fibra LOADED with Napoli spice salami, Calabrian chili, green peppers, cooked to perfection. Then came the salads, a chopped Italian and Buratta with arugula, tomato, Vidalia onion and plenty of shaved Parmigiano Reggiano. The food continues~fried gnocchi w/ ricotta and a rich marinara, a chicken dish with tomato, cheese and herbs, a party in your mouth. He chose a spectacular wine to accompany this feast, and topped off the evening with gelato, cheesecake and espresso/lattes. $96 for Missing Pizzas & Zero Help? Avoid at All Costs! I'm absolutely shocked and disappointed by my experience with this pizza place. Last night, I ordered three pizzas for delivery, totaling nearly $100 (which is already a hefty price tag). I received a notification that the pizzas were delivered, but they were nowhere to be found! I immediately called the restaurant, hoping they could help locate my order. The person I spoke to was incredibly unhelpful. They told me it was "my problem" and to call DoorDash. I pleaded with them, explaining that I had a large group of hungry people waiting. They simply didn't care and said it wasn't their problem. I'm appalled by the complete lack of customer service and responsibility. I only ordered from this place because of their great Yelp reviews, and I deeply regret that decision. It's unacceptable to charge such high prices and then provide zero support when something goes wrong. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs! There are plenty of other pizza places out there that actually care about their customers and take ownership of their service. read more

Del Lusso is truly a gem! Walter, the owner, has created something so special here by focusing on organic, healthy, and authentic ingredients. One of the things that makes their pizza stand out is the flour, which is imported directly from Italy. Unlike much of the overly processed flour in the U.S. that's stripped of nutrients and harder to digest, Italian flour is pure, lighter, and healthier -- and you can really taste the difference. The crust comes out crisp yet airy, with a flavor that feels authentic and nourishing at the same time. Pair that with fresh organic toppings, and you've got pizza that makes you feel good, not weighed down. On top of it all, the service is excellent and the ambiance is warm and inviting. The salad was fresh and delicious, but unfortunately, the rest of the food was underwhelming. The pizza came out burnt, the pasta lacked flavor, and even the gelato had freezer burn. What surprised me most, though, was the atmosphere--it felt more like a playground than a restaurant. Kids were running around and screaming, which made it hard to enjoy what we had hoped would be a relaxing Sunday family dinner. I don't mind children at all, but the environment just didn't match the dining experience we were expecting. Received a poorly dressed Mediterranean salad with 4 cucumbers. Unfortunatley, I did not check the salad upon exiting. When I called the restaurant and attempted to resolve the issue, I was given the run around by a man who stated that his name was "Mark" and he was a manger. Come to find out he is actually a shift lead who lacks the proper training to resolve issues. After he admitted that it was odd that there was 4 cucumbers, he still did not have a solution. When I asked to speak to the owner, Walter, he had no answers. Walter obviously does not care about his restaurants reputation. This makes the restaurant look unethical and unprofessional. We had a fantastic experience at Del Lusso in San Marcos! From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed. Walter, the owner, is incredibly warm and personable--we had a great conversation with him, and you can tell he truly cares about his guests and his restaurant. The pizza was delicious (next time we'll ask for it well done for that extra crisp, just like Walter suggested!), and the wines by the glass were seriously impressive--great selection. I can't recommend Del Lusso enough. Walter and his team are top notch. The space, ambiance, and food were amazing (a special shout out for the sausage and mushroom pizza - my favorite). We had a particularly large group - 35 people - which is always challenging for a restaurant. But the entire Del Lusso team was fantastic. Our tables were waiting for us when we arrived. As a family that's traveled the world, we were blown away to discover the best pizza margherita we've had in the U.S. right here. Stopped in for lunch with my wife and 6 year old son. It was a beautiful day and we sat on the patio. Walter the owner was very kind to me and my family. Food was amazing!
