The car was everything he promised and he'd put special care into it. He held it a few more days until I could come back and pick it up, no problem. I came into Del Mar Auto LLC with my girlfriend and brother and walked around the lot of the dealership, no one approached us until we walked past the office and he ran out to greet us. I originally wanted different car, but once that didn't work out, Tim offered us different options and really knew his facts - how much the price would be will depend on my down payment and not my credit. And I don't have that great credit history but he made it simple and easy to understand. We spent 2 hours at the dealership total, and Tim was extremely patient and helpful. He offered many different options and was very open to letting us see and test-drive multiple cars. Since it was a big purchase for me I had to think long and hard, but it seemed like Tim didn't mind. Definitely wasn't pushy! Once we decided on the car, Tim had us sit and start the paperwork. Just bought my 2014 Hyundai Veloster from Tim at Del Mar. I had originally went to Los Angeles to buy a similar car that had been sold before I reached. I was determined to get a car and called Del Mar to check out the Hyundai, that they had lowered the price on. Tim was quick getting me all the info I needed, we negotiated over the phone. He gave me an amazing price that was too good to be true. I told him I'd be there soon and he stayed open for me. I test drove the car and loved it instantly. Within 45 minutes I was out the door. He told me he would look for the spare key and call me, he called within 10mins. Unfortunately, on the way home my battery died when I went to the gas station BUT Tim apologized and explained the car had been sitting for a while and that he's make it right. ( I bought my car cash so I wasn't expecting him to do much at all, honestly) but Tim went above and beyond and purchased my battery over the phone at O'Reilly'a and made sure I was sure i was squared away! My car is amazing and feels brand new. He was honest about me needing an oil change, honest about the price and did not haggle me. I can't believe he bought me a battery. Much appreciated. Man, this guy Tim is the worst kind of dealer. Long story short, I am a serious buyer looking for a specific type of car that Tim happened to have on the lot, a z3m roadster. I called Tim ahead of time and came by as instructed. The price was decent and the car looked OK with a few mismtached/poorly fitting body panels. Because of the body issues, I asked Tim if I could leave him with a deposit and put the car up on a lift so I could look for rust, subframe damage, etc. HE FLAT OUT REFUSED TO LET ME DO THIS AND BECAME EXTREMELY DEFENSIVE AND CONFRONTATIONAL. What do you have to hide, Tim? What kind of car dealer won't let a potential customer inspect a vehicle? You made me furious by claiming that you "didn't have to let me see anything." My experience with the gentleman at the dealership was nice. They were wonderful as far as customer service goes. Unfortunately they sold me a lemon. In bought the car in January and it's now May, and it has died. The engine light came on the next day I bought it and was told it was too late. He said to take it to his guy where I was hustled out of money to look the car and was told it was fine. My roommate is a mechanic and has clearly stated its a lemon and I got hustled. I am a sweet woman who doesn't want trouble. I want a safe vehicle hat is reliable, which was what I was told I was buying. I would not trust these men and their vehicles. They will hustle you, and your car will probably only run for a few months. I am not only disappointed in being lied to, but now I have to buy another car!! I brought my girlfriend to Del Mar Auto LLC where we bought a car from Tim. He sold us a 2003 BMW 325i which came with an engine and transmission warranty for the first 60 days. Low and behold, a month later a check engine light came on. He referred me to Gary's Pit Stop, a BMW specialist in Westchester. Gary was super knowledgeable about BMW's (highly recommend him if you own a Beemer). The car needed an oxygen sensor which wasn't covered under the warranty but Tim took care of the bill anyways.
